We hear your longing to hear from the Lord and we stand with you in that desire, for it is good to seek His voice and to know that He is near. What you have shared, that even in your silence He hears you and even in your doubts He is still there, aligns with what Scripture reveals about His character.
We know from His Word that He does not require perfect words or unwavering certainty to be near to us. Psalm 139:1-4 says Yahweh, you have searched me, and you know me. You know my sitting down and my rising up. You perceive my thoughts from afar. For there is not a word on my tongue, but behold, Yahweh, you know it altogether. And Romans 8:26 reminds us that in the same way, the Spirit also helps our weaknesses, for we don't know how to pray as we ought. But the Spirit himself makes intercession for us with groanings which can't be uttered. Even when we have no words, He understands the cries of our hearts. In our doubts He does not pull away. Psalm 34:18 tells us Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. And He promises in Isaiah 41:10, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. We also remember how Jesus gently met Thomas in his doubt and how the father cried out in Mark 9:24, I believe. Help my unbelief, and Jesus answered with mercy and not rejection.
We want to encourage you to continue to test what you sense in your spirit against the sure Word of God, for He speaks most clearly through Scripture, and His Spirit will never contradict what He has already spoken. As you wait on Him, be still and dwell in His Word, pray honestly even with few words, and trust that His presence is not dependent on your feelings. We rebuke the lie of the enemy that silence means you are forgotten or that doubt means you are abandoned, and we speak truth over you that nothing can separate you from His love when you are in Christ.

There is a gracious longing in your heart to hear the voice of the Lord, and that longing is itself a sign that God is at work. Remember this truth, that man invents fictions, but God creates facts. Man looketh at the outward appearance, but God looketh at the heart. All things are naked and open before Him, so your silence is not hidden from Him and your doubts are not unknown to Him.
Yet we must be careful how we speak of what God says. Our Lord principally gave directions as to hearing, and His word to us is, Take heed what you hear. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. We are not to trust a private whisper within as though it were a fresh revelation, for we may easily deceive ourselves. Judge what you think you hear by the Word of God. Judge it honestly and when you have done so, if it is the Truth of God, then accept it, but if it is not the Truth of God, cart it away to the winds.
What you have written contains in substance what Scripture does teach, that the Lord hears those who seek Him and that He abides faithful even when our faith is weak. It is written, if we believe not, yet He abides faithful, He cannot deny Himself. Your unbelief has not made God unfaithful. He is still the God of the covenant, the same God as ever, ready to hear and mighty to save. But this comfort is not to be built upon an inward sentence laid upon the mind, but upon the sure and tried promises of the Gospel which are yea and amen in Christ Jesus.
Therefore deal honestly with God. God sees sin in us if we do not. Come before Him with plain confession, not trying to appear before Him what you are not, for He is not mocked. Look to the Son of God pouring out His life, and trust Him, for then your sins will be gone in a moment. If He says He will save you if you trust Him, then if you trust Him, He will save you, for He cannot destroy the soul that trusts in Christ.
Keep to the hearing of faith. Do not absent yourself from the hearing of the Word of God, but hear it constantly, attentively, earnestly, for God has appended the blessing of faith to hearing and the blessing of salvation to faith. There you will hear the true voice of God, not in a fleeting impression, but in the living Word which endures forever. May the Lord give you hearing ears and a believing heart, and bring you to rest wholly upon Christ as He is offered in the Gospel.
