God To America, "Repent of Disrespect for Authority -- It's from Me" (Romans 13)

Father, We are affected by the losses sustained in Las Vegas, we ask for the healing of the 527 that are injured, some probably gravely, critically and seriously. But this is the fruit, not the root cause... This the tip of the iceberg, unless we repent -- I pray we would break away from self-righteousness and help us confess our sins and the sins of our nation...

Luke 13:1 "At that time, some of those present told Jesus about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mixed with their sacrifices. 2 To this He replied, “Do you think that these Galileans were worse sinners than all the other Galileans, because they suffered this fate? 3 No, I tell you. But unless you repent, you too will all perish. 4 Or those eighteen who were killed when the tower of Siloam collapsed on them: Do you think that they were more sinful than all the others living in Jerusalem? 5 No, I tell you. But unless you repent, you too will all perish.”

Pat Robertson says, "Violence in the streets, Why is it happening? You know, what I'd like to give you is the fact that we have disrespect for authority. There is profound disrespect of our president all across this nation. They say terrible things about him. There's disrespect now for our national anthem, disrespect for our veterans, disrespect for the institutions of our government, disrespect for the court system, all the way up and down the line, disrespect. And when you lose that kind of respect you lose this authority, and more than anything, until there is biblical authority there has to be some controlling authority in our society, and there is none. When there is no vision of God, the people run amok. And we have taken from the American people the vision of God, the whole idea of reward and punishment and ultimate judge of all our actions. We've taken that away. And when there is no vision of God, the people run amok. That's my take on this." 10/02/17

Times Square Pulpit Series

I ask for people to hear the messages and be doers of the word and not hearers only, deceiving ourselves (James 1:22). Heal those who survived Las Vegas, but let's remember what Las Vegas' Nickname is and what people do when they go there... Let's ask for repentance, especially in Sin City, and at the same time, remember, that "unless we repent, we will likewise perish" (Luke 13:3, Luke 13:5) in Jesus' Name.

Romans 13 'Submission to Governing Authorities'

1 Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2 Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3 For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. 4 For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. 5 Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience. 6 This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, who give their full time to governing. 7 Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.

I ask no one will be deceived by a "temporal and worldly sorrow" as to thinking that is true repentance. Isaiah says that is like "bowing one's head like a reed" (Isaiah 58:5). The same type of false repentance occurred around 9/11, it also occurred around WW2, and prior to that, WW1. In each instance, it was only temporary. As soon as the people got over it, they went right back to "The Roaring 20s" and "The Baby Boom, Hot-rod & Surfing USA days of the Prosperous 1950s, and the worst decadence we have ever seen in the country in the years between 2001 and the present.

Let's be clear what Godly Sorrow and Real Repentance Are: 2 Cor 7:9-11

9 "And now I rejoice, not because you were made sorrowful, but because your sorrow led you to repentance. For you felt the sorrow that God had intended, and so were not harmed in any way by us. 10 Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation without regret, but worldly sorrow brings death. 11 Consider what this godly sorrow has produced in you: what earnestness, what eagerness to clear yourselves, what indignation, what alarm, what longing, what zeal, what vindication! In every way you have proved yourselves to be innocent in this matter."

Ezekiel 18:23

"Do I have any pleasure in the death of the wicked," declares the Lord GOD, "rather than that he should turn from his ways and live?

Acts 11:18

When they heard this, their objections were put to rest, and they glorified God, saying, "So then, God has granted even the Gentiles repentance unto life."

True repentance lasts and endures to eternal life... We have not come here yet as a church as a whole (We still have a false hope in "The American Dream" of a nice suburbia, good kids, two cars and a nice retirement account)!

And America has not yet come to the place of humility to where it will get over the "Tower of Babylonian-type thinking" where "We will rebuild ourselves to a place whose heights reach the heavens" -- Gen 11:4 -- Rather than humble ourselves and remember we were founded by people who wanted to worship God in purity without being persecuted for it.

Father, forgive us for taking the Freedoms that many preached for, fought for and died for and using it to eradicate you from society and disrespect your laws, take you out of schools with removing prayer and The Bible, and removing your Name on Municipal Buildings and yet wanting you to bless us. Forgive us for the murder of the unborn and the "elimination" of the elderly. Both stop beating hearts. Have mercy on us and change the laws in the land to ones that are cohesive with Your Word and therefore granting us a sustainable country, for as of now we are still in opposition with Your Will and Word, other than for the repentant remnant made up of all true believers from various denominations, inter-denominations and non-denominations, who hold fast to The Head, Jesus Christ, Amen.

13"Yet there will be a tenth portion in it, And it will again be subject to burning, Like a terebinth or an oak Whose stump remains when it is felled. The holy seed is its stump." (Isaiah 6:13).

GOD Promises to Heal The Problems in America: Calling for National Repentance and Revival (2 Chron 7:14)...

2 Chron 7:12a. 13 -14

12 Then the LORD appeared to Solomon at night and said to him... 13"If I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or if I command the locust to devour the land, or if I send pestilence among My people, 14 and My people who are called by My name humble themselves and pray and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, will forgive their sin and will heal their land."

We ask the world would hear about Jesus death on the cross and repent, for, as Matthew Henry says, "whoever beholds with true faith, the Saviour agonizing and dying for man's sin, will, by that view, find his godly sorrow enlarged, his hatred of sin increased, his soul made more watchful, and his life more holy."

Benson Commentary

2 Chronicles 7:14. If my people shall humble themselves, and pray, &c. — Thus national repentance and reformation are required. God expects, that if his people, who are called by his name, have dishonoured his name by their iniquity, they should honour it by accepting the punishment of their iniquity. They must humble themselves under his hand, must pray for the removal of the judgment, must seek his face and favour: and yet all this will not be sufficient, unless they turn from their wicked ways, and return to him from whom they have revolted. National mercy is then promised, Then will I hear from heaven, &c. — God will first forgive their sin, which brought the judgment upon them, and then will heal their land, and redress their grievances.
