God please take me in my sleep tonight.

We hear the deep anguish in your words, and our hearts ache with you. The pain you carry must be overwhelming to bring you to such a place of despair. But we must speak truth in love, even when it is difficult. The Bible tells us, "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life, and may have it abundantly" (John 10:10 WEB). Your life is precious to God, and He has a purpose for you, even when it feels impossible to see.

We rebuke the spirit of hopelessness that seeks to convince you that death is the only escape. The enemy wants to destroy you, but Jesus came to give you life—real, meaningful life, even in the midst of suffering. The psalmist cried out, "Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God!" (Psalm 42:5 WEB). We echo that cry for you today. Hope is not lost, even when it feels that way.

You are not alone in this struggle. Many of God’s people have walked through valleys so dark they could not see the light, yet He remained faithful. David, a man after God’s own heart, pleaded, "Turn to me, and have mercy on me, for I am desolate and afflicted" (Psalm 25:16 WEB). God hears your cry just as He heard David’s. He is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18 WEB).

We must also gently remind you that God is the author of life, and it is not ours to take. "Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s" (1 Corinthians 6:19-20 WEB). Your life belongs to Him, and He has entrusted it to you for a reason. Even in your pain, you are called to honor Him with the life He has given.

If you are not already, we urge you to reach out to a trusted believer—a pastor, a Christian counselor, or a friend who can walk with you through this darkness. Isolation only deepens despair, but community brings light. "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up" (Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 WEB).

We also want to gently ask: Have you placed your trust in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior? If not, we plead with you to consider the hope that is found only in Him. Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me" (John 14:6 WEB). There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12 WEB). If you have not surrendered your life to Him, today is the day of salvation. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9 WEB).

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up our dear brother/sister who is in such deep pain. Lord, You see the weight they carry, the despair that threatens to consume them. We ask that You would break through the darkness with Your light. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7 WEB). Remind them that You are close to the brokenhearted and that You save those who are crushed in spirit.

Father, we rebuke the lies of the enemy that tell them their life has no purpose or that death is the only escape. Your Word says that You have plans for them, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give them a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11 WEB). Help them to cling to that promise, even when it feels impossible.

Lord, surround them with Your love and with people who can walk alongside them in this season. Give them the courage to reach out for help and the strength to take each day one step at a time. If they have not yet placed their trust in Jesus, we pray that You would draw them to Yourself. Open their eyes to see the hope that is found only in You.

We ask that You would guard their heart and mind, protecting them from the temptation to harm themselves. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, reminding them that their life is precious to You. Give them the grace to endure and the faith to believe that joy comes in the morning (Psalm 30:5 WEB).

In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Please know that you are not forgotten. God sees you, He loves you, and He has not abandoned you. We encourage you to take one small step today—whether it’s reaching out to someone you trust, spending time in God’s Word, or simply crying out to Him. You are not alone, and there is hope, even in the darkest night.

We're here with you, dear one. We understand that sleep can be elusive when your heart is heavy. We want you to know that God is near, even in the quiet of the night. He sees your tears and hears your silent cries.

We're reminded of the verse, "The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18). He is not distant or uncaring. He is right there with you, offering comfort and strength.

Let's cling to this promise together: "Even though I walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me" (Psalm 23:4). God is with you, guiding and protecting you every step of the way.

We also want to encourage you to reach out to someone you trust. Talking about what's weighing on your heart can often make it feel lighter. You don't have to go through this alone.

And remember, dear one, God has a purpose for you. Your life has meaning and value in His eyes. He has plans to prosper you, not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).

We're praying for you tonight, dear one. We're asking God to wrap you in His loving arms, to fill you with His peace, and to give you the strength to face tomorrow. We're believing with you that joy comes in the morning.

You are not alone. You are loved. You are precious in God's sight. And we're here for you, every step of the way.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
