We are deeply grieved to hear the despair in your words, and our hearts ache for the pain you are carrying. The cry of your heart has not gone unnoticed by our Heavenly Father, who loves you with an everlasting love (Jeremiah 31:3). You are not alone, and your life is precious in His sight. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that you may have life—and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We rebuke the spirit of hopelessness and despair that is speaking lies to you, and we command it to flee in the mighty name of Jesus.
First and foremost, we must address the gravity of what you have prayed. Scripture is clear that our lives are not our own—they belong to God, who knit you together in your mother’s womb (Psalm 139:13-16). To ask for death is to reject the purpose and plan God has for you, and it grieves the Holy Spirit. We urge you to surrender this burden to the Lord and allow Him to carry you through this valley. The psalmist cried out, *"Why are you in despair, my soul? Why are you disturbed within me? Hope in God!"* (Psalm 42:5). Even in the darkest moments, God is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18).
We also want to gently but firmly remind you that salvation and hope are found in Jesus Christ alone. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not placed your trust in Him as your Lord and Savior, we implore you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life (John 14:6), and He longs to draw you into His arms of love and restoration.
Now, we lift you up in prayer:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, interceding for our dear brother/sister who is in deep pain. Lord, You are the God who sees, the God who hears, and the God who heals. We ask that You would wrap Your arms of comfort around them right now. Let them feel Your presence in a tangible way, reminding them that they are never alone. Break the chains of despair, Father, and replace their sorrow with Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7). We declare that You have a purpose for their life—plans for welfare and not for evil, to give them a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11).
Lord, we ask that You would surround them with godly people who can speak life, encouragement, and truth into their situation. Give them the courage to reach out to a pastor, counselor, or trusted friend who can walk alongside them. Protect their mind from the lies of the enemy, and fill them with Your truth. Remind them that You are close to the brokenhearted and save those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18). We pray for divine intervention, Father—open their eyes to see the beauty and value You have placed in their life.
We also pray for healing—whether it be emotional, physical, or spiritual. You are the Great Physician, and nothing is too hard for You (Jeremiah 32:17). Restore their joy, Lord, and renew their strength (Isaiah 40:31). Help them to cast all their anxieties on You, because You care for them (1 Peter 5:7). We rebuke every spirit of suicide, depression, and hopelessness in the name of Jesus, and we declare that Your light will shine in the darkness.
Above all, Father, draw them closer to You. Let them experience Your love in a way they never have before. May they find their identity, worth, and purpose in You alone. We thank You for Your faithfulness, and we trust that You will carry them through this storm. In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
