God, please open my doors🙏🙏🙏

Disciple of Prayer
Oh God, why are You doing this to me? I don't understand. You are neither giving me anything of Your own will nor giving me what I truly want. You have closed all the doors for me. Then why did You even give me this life? I just don't understand. If You don't want to help me, then why am I going through all this pain?

We hear the deep pain and confusion in your cry and we join with you before the Father in Jesus name to seek His will together. It is understandable to feel that every door is closed and to wonder why God seems silent, but we want to gently remind you that God has not abandoned you and He is not doing this to harm you.

The Lord says, For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you hope and a future Jeremiah 29:11. His thoughts and His ways are higher than ours, For my thoughts are not your thoughts, and your ways are not my ways, says Yahweh. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts Isaiah 55:8-9. What feels like closed doors to you may be His protection, His redirection, or His perfect timing to prepare you for what is truly best. He has promised, Behold, I have set before you an open door, which no one is able to shut Revelation 3:8, and that door will open in His time, not ours.

We also must lovingly correct the way this pain is being directed toward God. To say why are You doing this to me can come from a broken heart, and God understands that brokenness, for Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18. Yet God is not your adversary. He is your Creator who gave you life because He loves you and has a purpose for you. We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose Romans 8:28, even the seasons of waiting and suffering. God does not promise to give us everything we want according to our own desires, but He does promise to give us what we need according to His perfect will, which is always good, loving and for our eternal good.

We noticed your prayer was directed to God but did not mention Jesus Christ, and we must speak to this because it is so important. There is no access to the Father except through His Son. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. And There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is only by the name of Jesus that our prayers are heard and our sins are forgiven. For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life John 3:16. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ, confess Him as Lord, believe that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved and brought into right relationship with God.

We pray together for you now.

Father in heaven, we lift up this precious soul who feels that every door is closed and that life has become only pain. Lord, forgive any words spoken in despair and have mercy. Reveal Yourself as a loving Father, not as one who withholds good. Open the eyes to see that You have not forsaken this life that You created with purpose. In the name of Jesus Christ, we ask You to comfort this broken heart, to give peace that passes understanding, and to open the doors that You in Your wisdom know are right. Close the doors that would lead to harm, and give faith to trust Your timing and Your will over personal wants. Draw this dear one to Jesus, that through His name there may be forgiveness, hope, and new life. Help this soul to seek You first, to wait on You, and to find that Your plans are for peace and a future. We ask this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and Savior. Amen.

We encourage you to keep seeking Him daily in prayer through Jesus, to read His Word, and to trust that even in this painful waiting He is working. Count it all joy when you fall into various temptations, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance James 1:2-3. Do not give up, for God has not given you life in vain. He sees you, He loves you, and His door will open when you continue to walk with Him.

We have read your cry and we are holding it with care. Feeling like God has closed every door and left you in pain is an overwhelming place to be, and it is understandable you are asking why you are even here and whether He sees you at all.

When pain piles up for a long time, it can start to feel like nothing will ever change and like the problem is entirely inside us. That perspective makes the future look closed, even when we are doing our best to keep going. You are not alone in feeling that way, and you do not have to carry these questions by yourself.

We want to stay with you in this without trying to quickly explain it away. God has not turned away from your hurt, even when it feels that way, and He hears you asking Him honestly.

If you can, would you let one safe person know today what you shared here, someone in your life, a pastor, or a counselor you trust. If this heaviness stays or gets heavier, please also reach out to your doctor or a trusted counselor for support alongside prayer. You deserve care for both your heart and your health.

Father, we lift our friend to You right now. You see the closed doors and the pain that feels endless. Please draw near with Your presence, give a little light for today, and bring people around who will listen and stay close. Lead with Your wisdom and give strength for the next step. In Jesus' name, amen.

The cry you have poured out is one that many a tried soul has uttered in the night, when every door seemed shut and the heavens appeared as brass. You ask why you suffer pain and why prayer seems unanswered, and whether life itself has lost its purpose. Hear then the word of truth which may steady you in this dark hour.

Prayer, mighty prayer, will yet prevail if it has but time. Do not forsake the closet and do not give up private devotion because the answer tarries. Brethren must not take delays in prayer for denial, for God's long dated bills will be punctually honored. What seems to you a closed door may be the Lord keeping you from a path that would harm you, or preparing you to enter by another door at His appointed hour. Before they call I will answer, and while they are yet speaking I will hear, but often He keeps us waiting that we may exercise an incessant pleading which stirs up His strength and causes Him to make bare His arm on our behalf.

You say He gives you neither what you desire nor what you think you need. Learn to distinguish between your own fancy and His sure promise. Get the promise and then offer the prayer, and the prayer will be answered as sure as God is God. But to get your own fancy into your head and then demand that God fulfill it will be of no service to you. Our Lord will give us the real thing. Sometimes we would be quite satisfied with an imitation of it, asking for a stone when He would give bread in His own time and way. Therefore search the Scriptures and plead His own word back to Him. Say with Jacob, Thou saidst, I will surely do thee good, and that plea shall cause the gates of grace to open.

It may also be that unanswered prayer is a Fatherly chastisement for our offenses. Ask the Lord to search you and try you, whether there be any sin that hinders communion. Yet even if He deals roughly with you at first, it is that He may give back with loving kindness what He has for a season withheld. No good thing will He withhold from them that walk uprightly, but He who loves you too wisely to give you all you ask will give you all that is truly good.

Remember that as surely as God's will is the axle of the universe, so in grace He is King, having mercy on whom He will have mercy. All things are under regulation and have an appointed place in His plan, and nothing happens but what He permits or ordains. It is foolish for a man to say, I will go and I will get gain, as though he could both propose and dispose without asking God's consent. Rather let your heart learn to say, If the Lord wills, and to put yourself entirely at His disposal. The preservation and perseverance and eternal glory of His people rests upon His will, and the work of His Spirit is to change the human will and make men willing in the day of His power.

Therefore continue much in prayer, even when you have not liberty in it. Cry unto God with your voice both in the daytime and at night, for the Lord will still hear your prayer. Let your prayer be fervent, for the effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much. And let it be offered through Jesus Christ alone, for there is no other name by which we must be saved, and no other mediator by whom we may come to the Father. If you have not yet cast yourself wholly upon the blood of Christ, do so now, for He has promised, Him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. He will call them His people which were not His people, and her beloved which was not beloved, and He will have mercy upon her that had not obtained mercy.

If it has come to be the darkest hour in the night, the day will soon dawn. That very sense of need, that inward craving which now pains you, may be the sign of its coming. Go again to His door, for prayer must be your first resource, not merely your last. Lay your blasphemous letter of unbelief before the Lord as Hezekiah did, and tell Him all your trouble. Then, having heard your voice, you will hear His, and you will find cause to tell others what a dear Saviour you have found.
