Heavenly Father, thank You The Kingdom is "righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit," Rom 14:17. I ask You, "The God of Hope, will fill us with all joy and peace in believing, so that we will abound in hope by the power of the Holy Spirit," Rom 15:13. We thank You that faith, hope and love remain, and the greatest of these is love, 1 Cor 13:13, so we ask for all three, and especially HOPE... Thank You that in Jesus, HOPE does remain, of an eternal Kingdom, and Your full presence, where perfection exists, and a Glorious Throne, exalted from the beginning, is the place of our sanctuary, Jeremiah 17:12. For here we have no lasting city, but are seeking one to come, Heb 13:14. "O City of God, Glorious things are spoken of you," Ps 87:3, where, "those who sing as well as those who play the flutes say, 'All my springs of joy are in you,'" Ps 87:7.

Thank You for extra grace to see that dwelling that cannot be torn down, eternal in the heavens, not made with hands, 2 Cor 5:1, for we are seeking a City to come, whose architect and builder is God, Heb 11:10. "For our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ; who will transform the body of our humble state into conformity with the body of His glory, by the exertion of the power that He has even to subject all things to Himself," Philippians 3:20-21, as it is also written, "Beloved, we are now children of God, and what we will be has not yet been revealed. We know that when Christ appears, we will be like Him, for we will see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as Christ is pure," 1 John 3:2-3. "Let us rejoice and be glad and give Him the glory. For the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His bride has made herself ready," Revelation 19:7. Now may the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the Love of God The Father, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit, be with us all, 2 Cor 13:14, even so, come quickly, Lord Jesus, Rev 22:20, Thank You in Jesus' Name, John 14:13-14, Amen, 2 Cor 1:20.

We join you in lifting our hearts to the Father, celebrating the hope we have in Christ Jesus, our Lord and Savior. Your prayer beautifully reflects the longing of every believer’s heart for the eternal city of God, where righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit reign forever. We are reminded that this hope is not a fleeting wish but an anchor for our souls, firm and secure, as we await the glorious return of our Lord (Hebrews 6:19).

The Scriptures you’ve shared declare the truth of our heavenly citizenship and the transformation that awaits us. Indeed, "we know that if the earthly tent which is our house is torn down, we have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal in the heavens" (2 Corinthians 5:1 WEB). This hope purifies us, as we seek to live holy and blameless lives before Him, eagerly awaiting the day when we will see Christ face to face and be like Him (1 John 3:2-3).

We also rejoice in the promise of the marriage of the Lamb, where the Bride of Christ, the Church, will be united with Him in perfect, eternal fellowship. This is the ultimate fulfillment of God’s redemptive plan, where love, joy, and worship will flow without end. Until that day, we are called to prepare ourselves, to walk in purity, and to abide in the love of Christ, so that we may be found ready when He comes.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the hope we have in Jesus Christ, the hope of eternal life in Your presence. Fill us afresh with the joy and peace that comes from believing in You, so that we may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Strengthen our faith as we await the glorious return of Your Son, our Savior. Help us to live as citizens of heaven, reflecting Your holiness and love in all we do. Purify our hearts, Lord, and prepare us for the day when we will see You face to face. May we be found faithful, ready for the marriage supper of the Lamb, where we will worship You forever in the splendor of Your glory.

We pray that You would deepen our longing for Your eternal Kingdom, where there will be no more tears, no more pain, and no more separation from You. Until then, help us to fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith, who endured the cross for the joy set before Him (Hebrews 12:2). May we run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking forward to the city whose builder and maker is God.

Lord, we also ask that You would guard our hearts against the distractions and temptations of this world. Help us to set our minds on things above, not on earthly things (Colossians 3:2), so that we may live in a manner worthy of the calling we have received. Teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom (Psalm 90:12), and to use our time, talents, and resources for Your glory.

We declare that our hope is in You alone, O God, and we trust in Your promises. Come quickly, Lord Jesus, and establish Your eternal Kingdom, where we will dwell with You forever. In the mighty name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God the Father, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you always as you continue to seek the city that is to come. Keep your heart fixed on Him, for He is our hope, our joy, and our eternal reward.

One way we’ve seen hope take deeper root is when we sing it. You’ve already gathered so many powerful promises from Scripture. Maybe this week you could put a few to melody, either by humming them to a familiar tune, or finding a hymn that echoes the same vision. Songs like “Jerusalem the Golden” or “For All the Saints” carry that same ache and anticipation. After we act in hope, even by singing, we often feel more hopeful, not because we’ve manufactured it, but because we’ve given our hearts language for what the Spirit is already doing.

As you keep pondering the Bride made ready and the marriage supper of the Lamb, we are right there with you, fixing our eyes on what’s ahead. May the Lord who is our Hope steady you, and may the fellowship of the Holy Spirit draw you closer to that eternal joy now.

Jesus, thank You that our citizenship is in heaven and that You are preparing a place for us. Fill our brother with such a lively hope that even today feels like home. Let the peace and joy he is trusting You for become a deep well within, no matter what. We join him in saying, “Come quickly, Lord Jesus.” Amen.

You pray to be filled with joy and peace in believing; yet mark well that joy and peace are the fruit of believing, and not the thing to be believed in. There is such a thing as believing in joy and peace, and that is of Satan, and the sooner we are clear of it the better. The ground of your rejoicing must never be your own frames or feelings, but Christ alone. The reason for salvation lies not in your repenting, but in Christ’s suffering, not in your renunciation of sin, but in Christ’s having borne your sin in His own body on the tree. If you are sick of sin and sad at heart, then here is a hope that cannot fail: you are to trust yourself wholly to Him whom God has provided to be the Saviour of such as you.

You speak of seeking a city whose builder and maker is God, and that is a blessed hunger. Yet remember, we are saved in hope. This hope is belief in the promise, desire for the possession, and expectancy of its fulfillment, and it ever purifies him who holds it fast. He that has this hope in him purifies himself, even as God is pure. So if your heart cries out for that eternal dwelling, let it also wean you from every earthly prop. We have no lasting city here; we press on to the one to come. And though you may not always taste joy and peace in the present, there is an infinite joy in the future. Do not say it is a long way off. It is not so! The consummation shall come, and when it comes you will remember no more your travail, for joy that your heaven is born to you and you to it.

Let your hope be single, resting in Jesus Christ alone. You may feel no strength, no gladness, and be tempted to conclude there is no hope for you in God. That is a lie of the despairing heart. There is no hope in yourself, that much is true, but there is infinite hope in Him. Turn you to the stronghold, you prisoner of hope. Keep at the foot of the Cross, and you will maintain and even increase your joy in the Lord. Try to grow in the knowledge of God, that your joy may be full. It is not enough to rest in a past conversion; no, you began a race from which you are never to cease. And this race is run by looking unto Jesus, who is the Author and Finisher of our faith. Even so, come quickly, Lord Jesus.

The Kingdom you seek is not a distant dream but a present reality, for it is righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost. These are not meats and drinks, nor earthly spectacles, but the very life of the soul united to God. You ask for hope, and rightly so, but see that this hope springs from the peace which Christ Himself bestowed when He rose from the dead. His first word to His disciples was "Peace be unto you," a peace given to counterbalance every war and sorrow. This peace is not the world's peace, which is external and often profiless, but an inner calm that renders you stronger. When you are at peace with Him, no trouble of the world can truly harm you.

You long for the City of God, where all springs of joy are found. What is this joy but the voice of the Bridegroom? He who stands and hears Him rejoices greatly because that voice announces the marriage of the Bride, the Church, to her Lord. This joy is no fleeting emotion. Consider those noble souls who endured the plundering of their goods with joy, knowing they had a better and enduring substance. Such joy is apostolic, a proof that the loss is no loss but a gain, a foretaste of the bridal chamber where sorrow and woe flee away. If you would seek this city, then walk in the peace that you have with your brethren. For nothing brings greater joy than unanimity, and nothing destroys it more grievously than a quarrelsome spirit that rends the body of Christ. He that ruins his brother subverts peace and wrongs joy more violently than any thief.

You have rightly set your hope on the transformation to come, when Christ appears and we shall be like Him. Let this hope purify you, not merely in flight from hell's darkness, but in the active pursuit of that eternal light. This light is not this sensible sun, but a far better radiance which shows you the angels, the archangels, the royal palaces, and the tabernacles of heaven. There, the King of Righteousness and King of Peace reigns, He who has made peace for things in heaven and things on earth. Do all things, at home and in the church, so as to enjoy this peace now, receiving the salutation with all alacrity before the holy mysteries. For the peace we share is a type of that heavenly reality. All the scriptures you have woven together, all your thanksgivings for grace and love and fellowship, find their true fulfillment as you now walk in the joy and peace of the Holy Ghost. This is the believing by which the God of hope fills you, so that already, even while seeking, you carry the city within your soul, abounding in hope by His power.

Your prayer reaches for that city where all joy and peace are found, and it is right to set your hope there. You have laid hold of what anchors the soul: the God of hope filling you with all joy and peace in believing, a citizenship already secured, and the promise of being made like Christ at His appearing. That hope is not a vague wish; it is a living reality, grounded in the risen Lord.

Sometimes, hope can feel like a distant city seen from a messy battlefield, and within the same hour the heart can cry out in both confidence and despair. That is part of the honest path of faith. The ancient sufferer spoke of a tree: cut it down and there is still hope it will sprout again. He felt man had no such hope, that the grave was the end. Yet in the very next breath, he declared that his Redeemer lives and that in his flesh he would see God. That is the strange, glorious back-and-forth of a soul pressed hard but held by a mighty hand. You have known that tension too, and your prayer rises above it into the very throne room.

Do not be surprised when the weight of this world tries to dim that hope. The present sufferings cannot be compared with the eternal weight of glory that is coming. The trouble is temporary; the city is permanent. What feels like a defeat today is actually being worked into something far beyond what we can see. The clay pot feels every crack, but the treasure inside it outshines everything.

You are right to ask for faith, hope, and love, and especially hope. Hope is the strong cord that pulls us forward. It purifies, as you read, because whoever has this hope fixed on Jesus makes it their aim to be pure as He is pure. So keep purifying. Keep setting your mind on the city whose architect and builder is God. The world clamors with false hopes, pleasure, acclaim, control, but they vanish in a moment. The righteous one holds to his way, and the clean hands grow stronger and stronger. That is your path.

When answers hide and God seems silent, remember He does not owe us explanations for every matter. He is mighty in strength and wisdom. Yet His silence is not absence. The fellowship of the Holy Spirit you invoked is real; He is the deposit of that future joy, already dwelling within you. Even now, while you wait, He fills you with peace that passes understanding.

So let your prayer become daily breath. As you long for that city, let it reshape how you live here. This life is a vapor, but the investments made in love and faithfulness echo into eternity. You have not concealed the words of the Holy One; you have spoken them back in hope. May the Holy Spirit cause you to abound in that hope by His power, sustaining you until the day your faith becomes sight. The Lord Jesus, whom you eagerly await, will come quickly. In that we rest together, until every shadow flees and all our springs of joy are in Him.
