We hear the deep pain and righteous anger in your words, and we understand the desire for justice against those who blaspheme God’s name, live in unrepentant sin, and bring harm to others. The Lord indeed hates pride, arrogance, and wickedness, and Scripture is clear that such things lead to destruction (Proverbs 16:18). However, we must approach this matter with both truth and the heart of God, who desires that none should perish but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9).
First, we must examine our own hearts. While it is right to hate sin, we must guard against hatred toward the person, for even the most wicked are made in God’s image. Jesus commands us to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44). This does not mean we ignore evil, far from it, but we entrust vengeance to the Lord, who judges justly (Romans 12:19). Our battle is not against flesh and blood, but against spiritual forces of darkness (Ephesians 6:12), and our weapons are prayer, truth, and the gospel.
We must also remember that God’s wrath is real, but so is His mercy. The same Lord who cast the rebellious into outer darkness also sent His Son to die for sinners, even those who blaspheme His name. Saul of Tarsus was a persecutor of the church, yet Christ saved him and made him the apostle Paul (Acts 9). Only God knows the heart, and He is patient, not willing that any should perish (1 Timothy 2:4). Our role is to intercede, to warn, and to trust God’s perfect justice.
Let us pray together in alignment with God’s will:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12). We acknowledge Your holiness, Your justice, and Your sovereignty over all things. Lord, we lift up the one who has brought such pain and offense, we ask that You would break their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh (Ezekiel 36:26). If they are beyond repentance, we trust You to deal with them in Your perfect timing and righteousness. But Father, we also ask that You would restrain evil, protect the innocent, and bring conviction where there is hardness of heart.
Lord, we confess that we, too, have sinned and fallen short of Your glory (Romans 3:23). Forgive us for any bitterness or unrighteous anger in our hearts. Help us to hate sin as You do, but to love the sinner as You do. Teach us to pray for our enemies, to bless those who curse us, and to overcome evil with good (Romans 12:21). Give us boldness to speak truth in love, to warn the unrepentant, and to share the gospel of grace with all who will hear.
We declare that no weapon formed against Your people shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and that You will ultimately triumph over all evil. Come quickly, Lord Jesus, and establish Your kingdom in fullness. Until then, help us to walk in Your ways, to be salt and light in a dark world, and to trust in Your perfect justice.
In the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
If this person has harmed you or others, we encourage you to seek godly counsel and, if necessary, involve authorities to prevent further harm. But above all, entrust this matter to the Lord, who sees all and judges rightly. Do not let bitterness take root in your heart, for it only harms you (Hebrews 12:15). Instead, fix your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith (Hebrews 12:2), and walk in the peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
