God is the only source of hope. Part 2

A little bit about the still, soft voice that God speaks into our spirit..... First of all, it's real. I've found it to be as true as anything you can hear on your iTunes playlist. Yet, it's also true that busyness of our culture and everyday living seems to both distract us from hearing clearly God and also logically, from following it quickly so as to find His best blessings for us. I've found that quiet time spent in God's word and simply reflecting upon God's nature, is more than helpful, it's vital.

Why?

#10) Because in doing so, I find God brings to my attention certain areas of scripture that pertain to what's going on in my life.

#9) Because God brings to my mind certain people and ways I can pray for them.

#8) Psalm 119:105 God arranges my day and orders my steps. He stretches my time if needed. He lights the path for me that day. I always have exactly the perfect amount of time to do everything God has placed before me on that day.

#7) Time alone with God improves my appearance. Psalm 89:15 'How blessed are the people who know the joyful sound! O LORD, they walk in light of Your countenance. We can't help but reflect God's goodness outwardly!

#6) I feel it is a way to tithe my time. I bring to God the first fruits of my day, acknowledging I only have one person to please and serve on this and any other day, and that is the Lord!

#5) It allows me to reflect on my concerns with a better perspective. Exodus 15:2 'The LORD is my strength.....'

#4) I rightly focus on God, not all my stupid mistakes in the past. God alone is deserving of all praise, honor and glory.

#3) I might hear a word of knowledge about something. For example one time, I was about 35 minutes away from home bringing our youngest daughter to a birthday party. God spoke into my spirit and said, '(my husband's name) is in trouble. Call so and so, they'll be home and can go to him.' Well, immediately I know what the trouble was because God provided a type of image where my husband was and confirming what the trouble was. My husband was battling a clinical severe major depression (he still battles it at times, in various degrees of severity. I wonder if he's bi-polar). I was afraid my husband would take his own life. After God spoke that to my spirit I called the person the Holy Spirit said to call and they were able to drive to where my husband was in time. They were able to listen to my husband and help him out of his crisis point. They helped me to arrange professional care for my husband. I was too far away to get to my husband in time and God knew that, that's why He provided the perfect person for the situation at hand.

#2) Quiet time with God takes away fear.

#1) Quiet time reading God's word also shows me how much I am loved and valued for who I am, not just what I do. It's nice to reflect that regardless of what the world thinks, God is always madly in love with me. :-)

So be blessed today and always. Put on the full armor of faith and spend time in God's word.
