God I have been so silly

Scdareuren

Disciple of Prayer
God, You know how this man used me and eventually cast me aside when he had enough of me. You know the lies he has told about me and the way he has misrepresented how he treated me. I admit that I responded by repaying evil with evil, and I know that I sinned. Please forgive me and help me to let go of anger, resentment, and the desire for revenge. God, please heal both of our wounds. Heal the pain, hurt, and brokenness in each of us. If it is Your will, perhaps one day, when we have both healed and grown, allow us to become genuine friends who can share real love, kindness, and respect. Let Your light shine through me not only toward him, but toward everyone I encounter. Help me to respond with grace, even when I have been hurt. Give me the strength to walk in truth and dignity. And please, Lord, do not allow anyone to bring me into shame or destroy the person You have created me to be. Protect my heart, guide my steps, and help me to remain faithful to You. And give me wisdom... Amen.

We hear your honest and humble heart in this prayer and we thank God that you have come before Him with confession and a desire for healing. We join with you in seeking His will together in Jesus' name.

You have done what is right by admitting that you repaid evil with evil. The Word tells us plainly, Repay no one evil for evil Romans 12:17 and Avenge not yourselves, but give place to God's wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord Romans 12:19. We rebuke that response of revenge and resentment together with you, not to shame you, but because God calls us to a higher way. He calls us to overcome evil with good Romans 12:21 and to let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you Ephesians 4:31-32. We also hear your pain at being used and cast aside and lied about. The Lord sees how you were treated and He is near to those who are brokenhearted. Yahweh heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds Psalm 147:3 and Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18.

We want to speak with love about what you described. When you say this man used you and then cast you aside when he had enough of you, that language often speaks of intimacy outside of God's design for marriage. If this relationship involved sexual intimacy outside of marriage, we must gently and truthfully call that fornication, which God calls sin. His design is that sexual intimacy be kept within the lifelong covenant of marriage between a man and a woman, and that courtship between a man and a woman be with the goal of marriage to another Christian believer. If that was part of this story, we encourage you to bring that specifically to the Lord as well, trusting His promise that If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9. Whether or not that was the case, we encourage you going forward to pursue purity and dignity and to seek a godly marriage that honors God rather than relationships that leave you used and shamed.

We also noticed your prayer speaks to God and to the Lord but does not mention the name of Jesus Christ. We say this in love because there is no other way to the Father. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6 and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. It is only through faith in Jesus Christ, His death and resurrection for our sins, that we have forgiveness and access to God. We encourage you to place your full trust in Him if you have not already.

We also hear your hope that perhaps one day you could become genuine friends who share real love, kindness and respect. We pray with you for healing for both of you, and we also counsel wisdom and boundaries. Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you Matthew 5:44 does not always mean restoring close friendship with someone who has mistreated you, especially if that friendship could pull you back into sin or harm. We pray God will give you clear wisdom, for If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him James 1:5.

We pray together now for you.

Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this dear sister to You. We thank You for her repentant heart and we ask You to forgive her for repaying evil with evil, and for any other sin in this relationship, and to cleanse her completely by the blood of Jesus. Lord, heal her wounds and his wounds, heal the pain, hurt and brokenness in each heart. We ask You to lift off all anger, resentment and desire for revenge and to fill her with Your grace to forgive as You have forgiven us. Protect her heart, guard her from shame and from anyone who would destroy the person You created her to be. Guide her steps, help her to walk in truth and dignity and to let Your light shine through her toward everyone she encounters, even those who have hurt her. Give her wisdom to set godly boundaries and to wait on Your perfect will for her future, and if it is Your will, provide a godly Christian husband for a marriage that honors You. Help her to remain faithful to You all her days. We ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.

We hear how painful this has been, being used and then spoken about falsely, and how heavy the anger and hurt have felt since. It makes sense that the pull toward getting even would rise up, and we are grateful for your honesty in naming that and wanting a different way forward.

What you describe about wanting to let go of resentment is often a longer process than a single moment. One helpful way to think about it is that there is a decision to release the right to revenge and to wish the other well before God, and then there is the slower emotional healing where resentment is gradually softened as God works in your heart. The decision can be made even while feelings are still tender, and the feelings often catch up over time, especially when you keep turning the hurt over to Him rather than rehearsing it.

When those sharp feelings return, it can help to pause and quietly name them to God in that moment and reaffirm your decision to leave justice in His hands, and if the thoughts keep circling, consider sharing them regularly with a trusted pastor or counselor who can walk with you.

Father, we ask You to forgive where our friend has asked for forgiveness and to gently heal the wounds in both hearts. Guard this life from shame, restore dignity and peace, and give clear wisdom for each step ahead. Shape our friend to reflect Your grace to others, and keep them faithful and close to You. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your honest confession is precious before the Lord, and He hears the cry of a penitent heart that desires forgiveness and longs to be free from anger and revenge.

Hear the blessed whisper that has comforted so many wounded souls, "There is forgiveness with You, that You may be feared." This forgiveness is divine, for it comes from God Himself through Jesus Christ alone. It is surprising forgiveness, so full and free that it seems too great to be true, yet it is true for every repenting and believing sinner. It is complete forgiveness. The record of your debt is nailed to the Cross, the tally is destroyed. And it is an eternal forgiveness that He never takes back, for the gifts and calling of God are without repentance. Do as you have been exhorted, believe in the forgiveness of sins for yourself, now, at this moment, through the blood of Christ who died, the Just for the unjust, that He might bring us to God.

With this forgiveness there comes healing, for healing and pardon are placed in happy conjunction. The leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, and even the least thing about Christ is healing. His healing changes the life blood and makes the nature other than it was before. As you have prayed, may that healing come to you, and may the Lord also be merciful to the one who has wronged you. We will pray that the Lord would heal the pain, hurt and brokenness in each of you, and bring you both to wholeness in Him.

You have rightly judged your own sin in repaying evil with evil, and the Lord calls His people to a better way. We learn first to overcome evil with good, and then to walk closely with Him who is Goodness itself. Forgiving one another is the joint work of those who have been so greatly forgiven. As God for Christ's sake has forgiven you, so you are called to forgive, not because the wrong was small, but because you have been forgiven so much. Vengeance belongs to the Lord, and you may safely leave all lies and misrepresentations in His hands, who judges righteously.

We will pray with you that the Lord will keep you from shame and guard the person He created you to be. He gives dignity and strength to those who walk in truth. May His light shine through you toward all people, and may He give you grace to respond with kindness even when you have been hurt. May He protect your heart, guide your steps, and keep you faithful to Himself, walking in purity and wisdom as one who is dear to Him.

And concerning your desire for friendship in time to come, we pray that the Lord's will be done, and that whatsoever love and kindness you show to any person, including this man, would be a holy love marked by truth, respect and self control, honoring God and keeping His way of purity. If a genuine friendship is to be given after healing and growth, may it be one that reflects the grace of Christ and nothing that would draw either of you away from holiness.

May the Lord grant you wisdom, daily forgiveness, and daily healing, and may you know that you are fully pardoned and fully loved in Christ. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your honesty before God is precious and He has heard you. You have spoken the truth about what was done to you and about your own response, and to confess that you repaid evil with evil is the beginning of healing. There is forgiveness for this when we turn to God through Jesus Christ alone, who bore our sins and who alone saves. If you have confessed this sin to Him, trust that He forgives the repentant heart, not because we deserve it but because Christ is merciful.

You ask for help to let go of anger, resentment and the desire for revenge, and this is the very work God calls you to. Scripture warns us that the ways of revengeful men lead to death, and asks, one person keeps anger against another and then seeks healing from God. How can that be. To hold anger is to practice evil in the soul, even when the hurt is real. Our Lord showed another way. At the supper, when the traitor sat at the table with Him, He answered with meekness and did not pour out wrath. He shows us that greatness of soul is not in taking revenge but in overcoming passion. And Joseph, who had his enemies in his hands and could have satiated his wrath, chose tears rather than retribution, not wanting to overturn a good life by remembering wrongs.

So do not give your anger to the man who hurt you. If you have wrath still burning, pour it out upon the head of the devil, who is the true enemy of your soul and who loves to see you bound by bitterness. With your brother, even one who has wronged you, be merciful. To forgive is not to say the wrong was not wrong, and it is not to pretend you were not wounded. It is to refuse to keep the wound open by revenge, and to leave judgment to God, who sees all and will do what is just. Love, when it dwells within, is like a calm harbor. When anger is within, the soul is overturned like a child in a storm. Love does not allow those thorns to spring up, and it brings the serenity that belongs to those who walk with God.

I pray with you now. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ, forgive this Your child for repaying evil with evil, and wash away that sin by the blood of Your Son. Take away the venom of wrath and anger. Heal the pain, hurt and brokenness in both souls, for both are in need of Your mercy. Give strength to walk in truth and dignity, to respond with grace even when hurt, and to let Your light shine toward all people. Protect this heart from shame, for You are the one who creates and restores a person, and no one should be allowed to destroy what You have made. Guide each step and grant wisdom to discern what is right and holy. Keep this life faithful to You and pure before You, honoring Your design for love and life, where intimacy belongs only within the lifelong covenant of marriage between one man and one woman. If it is Your will in the time ahead, grant a friendship that is chaste, honest, kind and respectful, seeking the good of the other and not the satisfaction of old passions. If not, grant contentment and peace in You alone. Make this soul settled and calm in Your love, free from envy and free from every tyrannical passion, that it may live with a clear conscience before You. Amen.
