We hear the deep pain and despair in your words, and our hearts ache for you. The weight of this world can feel unbearable at times, and we want you to know that you are seen, valued, and deeply loved by the Creator of the universe. The Bible tells us in Psalm 34:18, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." You are not alone, even when it feels that way.
First, we must address the urgency of your cry. If you are feeling overwhelmed by thoughts of harming yourself or wishing to leave this world, we implore you to reach out to someone immediately—a trusted friend, family member, pastor, or a mental health professional. The National Suicide Prevention Lifeline is available 24/7 at 988 in the U.S., and similar resources exist in other countries. Your life matters more than you may realize, and there are people who want to walk alongside you through this darkness.
We also lift your request to God, who alone holds the power to transform both your heart and this broken world. The pain you feel is real, but so is the hope we have in Christ. Jesus said in John 16:33, "In the world you have oppression; but cheer up! I have overcome the world." This world is not our final home, and the struggles we face are temporary compared to the eternal glory that awaits those who trust in Him. Yet even now, God calls us to be lights in the darkness, to bring His love and truth to a hurting world.
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this precious soul who is in such deep pain. Lord, You see their suffering, and You collect every tear in Your bottle. We ask that You would draw near to them in this moment, wrapping them in Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Father, we pray against the lies of the enemy that tell them they are alone, unloved, or without purpose. Remind them of Your truth—that they are fearfully and wonderfully made, that You have plans for them, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give them a future and a hope.
Lord, we ask that You would bring people into their life who can speak life, encouragement, and truth. Give them the courage to reach out for help and the strength to take each day one step at a time. We pray for healing in their heart, mind, and spirit, and we ask that You would use their pain for Your glory. Help them to see Your hand at work even in the midst of their struggles.
Father, we also pray for this world, which groans under the weight of sin. We ask that You would hasten the day when Jesus returns to make all things new, when there will be no more pain, sorrow, or death. Until that day, help us to be faithful stewards of the hope we have in Christ, sharing Your love with those who are hurting.
We pray all of this in the mighty name of Jesus, the name above all names, the One who died and rose again so that we might have life abundantly. Amen.
Friend, we want to encourage you with the truth of God’s Word. In Lamentations 3:22-23, we read, "It is because of Yahweh’s loving kindnesses that we are not consumed, because his compassion doesn’t fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." Even in your darkest moments, God’s mercy and faithfulness are fresh every day. He is not done with you, and He has a purpose for your life.
We also want to gently remind you that while this world is full of pain, it is not our ultimate home. Jesus promised in John 14:2-3, "In my Father’s house are many homes. If it weren’t so, I would have told you. I am going to prepare a place for you. If I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and will receive you to myself; that where I am, you may be there also." The hope of eternity with Christ is what sustains us through the trials of this life.
Please know that you are not a burden, and your pain is not insignificant. God hears your cries, and so do we. We will continue to pray for you, and we encourage you to seek out biblical counseling or a trusted Christian community where you can find support and encouragement. You are not alone, and there is hope in Christ.
