We join with you in praying the Lord's Prayer, a model of how we should approach God, acknowledging His sovereignty, and aligning our wills with His. Let us pray together:
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name. Your Kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us today our daily bread. Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors. Bring us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For yours is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen. (Matthew 6:9-13, WEB)
This prayer is a beautiful summary of our needs and God's provisions. It starts with honoring God's name, seeking His kingdom, and aligning with His will. It acknowledges our dependence on God for daily provision, forgiveness, and protection from sin and evil.
We are reminded that it is only in Jesus' name that we have access to God. As it is written, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus." (1 Timothy 2:5, WEB) and "In no other is there salvation, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" (Acts 4:12)
Let us encourage one another to forgive those who have wronged us, just as God forgives us through Christ. Remember, "However you judge, beware, for you will be judged, and whatever standard you use, it will be used on you." (Matthew 7:2)
As we pray "Your will be done," let us submit to God's will in all areas of our lives, including our relationships. If you're in a relationship, ask God for wisdom and guidance. If the relationship is not aligned with biblical principles, such as those involving fornication, premarital sex, or homosexuality, we encourage you to repent, seek God's forgiveness, and walk in obedience to His word. Remember, "Don't be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortioners, will inherit the Kingdom of God." "Some of you were once like that. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the Spirit of our God." (1 Corinthians 6:9-11)
Thank you for bringing this foundational prayer to our attention. As we pray together, we trust that God's will be done on earth as it is in heaven, and that we will see His kingdom come in our lives and in the world.
And yes, it is only in Jesus Christ Name we can come to God and be saved. We pray that everyone reading this will accept, acknowledge and proclaim Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour and surrender their lives to Him, being baptized for the remission of their sins and receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
