We come before the Lord with this request, lifting up these desires and goals with a heart that seeks His will above all else. First, we must acknowledge that all things are possible through Christ who strengthens us (Philippians 4:13), but we must also remember that our plans should align with His purpose and timing. The Bible tells us, "Commit your way to the Lord. Trust also in him, and he will do this" (Psalm 37:5). It is good to have goals, but we must surrender them to God, asking Him to guide our steps and order our days according to His perfect will.
We notice that some of these goals are focused on personal achievement and worldly success, which are not inherently wrong, but we must ensure that our hearts are not consumed by them. Jesus warns us, "For what does it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his own soul?" (Mark 8:36). Let us seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to us (Matthew 6:33). We encourage you to prayerfully consider whether these goals are driven by a desire to glorify God or to satisfy personal ambitions.
Regarding the desire to find a girlfriend, we must address this with biblical truth. The Bible calls us to pursue godly relationships with the intention of marriage, as marriage is a sacred covenant between a man and a woman (Genesis 2:24). If you are seeking a girlfriend, we encourage you to seek a wife, a woman who loves the Lord and desires to serve Him wholeheartedly. Courtship should be entered into with purity, honor, and the intention of marriage, not merely companionship. Flee from sexual immorality, for "every other sin that a man commits is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body" (1 Corinthians 6:18). If you are currently in a relationship that does not honor God in this way, we urge you to repent and seek His forgiveness and guidance.
Moving out of your parents' house is a significant step, and while it may be a natural desire for independence, we must ensure that it is done in a way that honors God and your parents. The Bible instructs us to "honor your father and your mother" (Exodus 20:12), and this includes respecting their wisdom and guidance. If you are considering this move, seek the Lord’s direction and the counsel of godly mentors to ensure it is the right time and that you are prepared for the responsibilities that come with it.
Now, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with hearts that seek Your will above all else. We lift up these goals and desires, asking that You would align them with Your purpose and timing. Lord, we surrender our plans to You, trusting that You know what is best for us. Help us to seek first Your kingdom and Your righteousness, knowing that all things will be added to us according to Your will.
Father, we ask for Your guidance in pursuing godly relationships. If it is Your will for this individual to marry, prepare their heart and the heart of their future spouse. Lead them to someone who loves You and desires to serve You together in marriage. Guard their heart from impurity and help them to flee from sexual immorality. May their relationships honor You in every way.
Lord, we also pray for wisdom in the decision to move out of their parents' home. Give them discernment to know when the time is right and the strength to honor their parents in the process. Provide for their needs and surround them with godly community to support and encourage them.
Father, we ask for Your blessing on their work and creativity. May their puppet gig and filming endeavors bring glory to Your name. Give them the discipline, patience, and perseverance to see their goals through, not for their own glory, but for Yours. Help them to use their talents to point others to You.
Lastly, Lord, we pray for their physical health and well-being. If it is Your will for them to lose weight, provide them with the strength and discipline to do so in a way that honors You. Help them to care for their body as Your temple (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).
We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, for it is only through Him that we have access to You. May Your will be done in every area of their life, and may they grow closer to You each day. Amen.
