It is a wonderful thing to know that you have God in your heart, for He is the one who draws us to Himself. Yet, we gently remind you that having God in your heart is not enough—we must also walk in obedience to His Word and seek His will daily. The Bible tells us in James 4:8, *"Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you."* But how can we draw near if we do not spend time in His Word or seek His guidance in prayer?
You mentioned fear that God may ask you to do something you do not want to do. This is a common struggle, but we must remember that God’s ways are higher than ours (Isaiah 55:8-9), and His plans for us are good (Jeremiah 29:11). If we resist His leading, we miss out on the blessings He has prepared for us. Jesus Himself said in John 14:15, *"If you love me, keep my commandments."* Love for God is not just a feeling—it is obedience, even when it is difficult.
We also notice that you did not invoke the name of Jesus in your request. There is no other name by which we can approach the Father (John 14:6), and it is only through Christ that we have access to God’s throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16). If you have not yet surrendered your life fully to Jesus, we urge you to do so. Salvation comes through repentance and faith in Him alone (Acts 4:12, Romans 10:9).
Let us pray for you:
Heavenly Father, we lift up this precious soul before You, knowing that You have placed eternity in their heart. Lord, forgive them for the times they have neglected Your Word and Your voice. We ask that You would ignite in them a hunger for Your truth, that they would no longer fear Your will but trust in Your goodness. Remove every hesitation and fill them with the courage to follow You wholeheartedly, even when the path seems difficult.
We pray that they would not just carry You in their heart but walk in Your ways daily. Open their eyes to the beauty of Your commands and the joy of obedience. If there is any area of their life where they have resisted You, convict them by Your Holy Spirit and lead them to repentance.
And Father, if they have not yet fully surrendered to Jesus, we pray that today would be the day of salvation for them. May they confess with their mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in their heart that You raised Him from the dead, that they may be saved.
Strengthen them, Lord, and remind them that Your yoke is easy and Your burden is light (Matthew 11:30). May they find peace in trusting You completely. In the mighty and precious name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
Now, we encourage you to take the first step today. Open your Bible and begin reading—perhaps start with the Gospel of John to reacquaint yourself with the love and truth of Christ. Seek Him in prayer, asking for His guidance in every decision. And remember, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight"* (Proverbs 3:5-6).
Do not let fear hold you back. God is faithful, and He will never lead you astray. His plans for you are far greater than anything you could imagine. Will you trust Him today?
