Disciple of Prayer
Hello please pray for me I have MTHFR and can Not have enriched food like gluten items. Please pray I break bad habit one day on the diet next day off Thank you ###

We hear your struggle and lift you up before the Lord, asking for His strength and discipline to help you break this cycle of inconsistency in your diet. The apostle Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 10:31, "Whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God." Your health is a gift from God, and stewarding it well honors Him. The habits you form now will shape your future well-being, and we know this is not easy.

We also recognize that discipline is a fruit of the Spirit (Galatians 5:22-23), and we ask the Lord to fill you with His power to overcome this challenge. The enemy would love to keep you bound in this cycle, but we rebuke that spirit of weakness and declare that God has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). You are more than a conqueror through Christ who strengthens you (Romans 8:37).

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, asking for Your grace and strength to be poured out upon our brother/sister. Lord, we know that all things are possible through Christ who strengthens us, and we ask that You would empower them to break this habit of inconsistency. Give them the discipline to stay committed to their diet, not just for their physical health, but to honor You with their body, which is Your temple (1 Corinthians 6:19-20).

Father, we ask that You would renew their mind and help them to see the importance of consistency in all areas of life. Remove any distractions or temptations that pull them away from this goal, and fill them with Your peace and determination. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and we rebuke any spirit of laziness or lack of self-control in Jesus' name.

Lord, we also pray for wisdom in managing their health condition. Guide them to the right foods, supplements, and resources that will support their body. Give them patience as they navigate this journey, and surround them with a community that encourages and uplifts them.

We thank You, Father, for hearing our prayer and for the victory that is already theirs in Christ Jesus. We trust in Your faithfulness and declare that this battle is already won. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to lean on the Lord daily, seeking His strength in moments of weakness. Surround yourself with accountability, perhaps a friend, family member, or even a support group, that can help keep you on track. Remember, small steps lead to big victories. You are not alone in this; the Lord is with you, and so are we. Keep pressing forward, one day at a time, trusting that God will sustain you.

We hear how hard it can be to stay on a strict diet day after day, especially when your body truly needs it. The back-and-forth pattern you describe, one day on, next day off, is a struggle many people face with food restrictions, and it can leave you feeling discouraged and out of control. That you’re reaching out for prayer shows you really do want to care for yourself well, and we’re glad to stand with you.

One thing that sometimes helps when a habit feels stuck is simply watching it closely, without pressure to fix it all at once. You might keep a small notebook or use a notes app for just a few days, jotting down the moment you go off gluten, what time it happened, how you felt right before, and what was going on around you. That gentle tracking can help you spot hidden triggers, like stress or convenience, and then you can plan for them ahead of time. The goal isn’t perfect records; it’s learning what your mind and body are telling you.

Another key is what we say to ourselves when we slip. It’s easy to fall into all-or-nothing thinking: “Well, I already ate something I shouldn’t, so I might as well keep going today.” That thought turns a single off-course moment into a whole off day. Instead, you can tell yourself, “One slip doesn’t erase all my progress. I’ll get right back on track at the next meal.” Treat it like a missed step on a path, not a tumble down the mountain. God’s grace meets us in the middle of our imperfect tries, and He’s more interested in our hearts and our overall direction than in a flawless record.

We’re praying you’ll find the steady consistency you’re longing for, and that your body will respond well as you honor its needs. Please do keep your doctor in the loop too, especially with the MTHFR condition, so they can guide you medically.

Let’s pray.

Lord Jesus, thank You that You care about our bodies as much as our souls. Be near our friend right now, giving patience and gentle persistence day by day. Help them notice what trips them up and give them strength to choose even one better meal at a time. Quiet the voice that says failure is final, and replace it with Your steady encouragement. In Your name we ask this, amen.

Cling not to the diet as a work of your own righteousness, else your strength shall be but weakness. The very turning from one day’s faithfulness to the next day’s indulgence reveals a self-reliant heart, as if the mastery lay in your own resolve. Oh for grace to learn that apart from Christ you can do nothing, not even the smallest thing, not even the keeping of a single meal from that which harms you. The Lord calls you not to a fitful obedience, but to a daily dying unto self, a constant looking away from your own strength to His finished work.

If you have trusted in your own determination, see now the need for self-distrust. A man that knows the plague of his own heart will never trust himself again. Loathing your own instability, flee to Jesus, who is both the Physician and the Bread of Life. Let every failure humble you, not to despair, but to a deeper reliance upon Him. The soul that is emptied of self-sufficiency is ready to be filled with divine enabling.

Set a watch before your mouth, not merely over what enters it, but over the pride that would claim any victory as its own. The child of God often sings, “Now free from sin, I’ll walk at large,” not because his own feet are swift, but because his Savior’s blood is his full discharge. So shall you find that as you look alone to Christ, the habit is broken, not by the clenched fist of self-denial, but by the pierced hand of the Crucified. May you know the blessedness of being brought low, that He might lift you up.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your struggle with the diet mirrors the battle every soul faces when striving to root a good habit in place of a bad one. The on-and-off pattern you describe is like the man who observes a fast and then plunges back into the same indulgence, losing all the ground he gained. Habit has a powerful pull, but it is also easily corrected once you set a firm guard over yourself. Do not trust your willpower alone. Place at home watchers, a spouse or a friend, to hold you to account. If you succeed in keeping steady for only ten days, the new way will begin to feel as natural as sleep, and you will need no further goad.

Consider that this bodily affliction is not merely a hindrance but a physician's remedy. Those who suffer and bear it with thanksgiving depart to the Master purified, for the pain endured here lightens the burden of sin. When you revert to the forbidden foods, you are like a sick man who, after a brief recovery, returns to the very diet that made him ill and wonders why his health fails again. Your body's need for discipline is a shadow of the soul's deeper need. Just as the publican shook off the fever of greed by obeying the healer's laws, so you can shake off this laxity by strict adherence. The way into the Kingdom is narrow; the broadness of indulgence swells up and blocks the path. Let this diet be a training in self-control, a daily dying to the whim of appetite. Then, even when tempted, you will find the strength to bear all things without agitation, reaping a pure pleasure that rests in a harbor without a wave, and bringing your vessel safely to the undecaying crown.
