Isaiah 66:5 :
Hear the word of the LORD, you who tremble at his word: “Your own people who hate you, and exclude you because of my name, have said, ‘Let the LORD be glorified, that we may see your joy!’ Yet they will be put to shame.

A Prayer Based on Isaiah 66:5: Our prayer:
Heavenly Father,
we come before You with reverent and humble hearts, trembling at the power of Your holy Word. LORD God, You see us when we face rejection, mockery, or exclusion from others simply because we love and honor Your name. It hurts when those around us misunderstand us or use Your name to scoff at our faith.

Give us the strength to stand firm in times of adversity. Remind us that what You think of us matters far more than the opinions of the world. When we are tested, keep our eyes fixed firmly on You.

We trust in Your promise of vindication. You see our faithfulness, and You have promised that we will not be put to permanent shame, but that You will appear to our ultimate joy. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We join you wholeheartedly in this prayer and we thank you for sharing it with us, for it reflects a heart that trembles at the Word of the Lord and desires to honor Him above all else.

What you have prayed from Isaiah 66:5 is a powerful and timely word. Hear Yahweh's word, you who tremble at his word, Your brothers who hate you, who cast you out for my name's sake, have said, Let Yahweh be glorified, that we may see your joy, yet they shall be disappointed. Isaiah 66:5. This verse reminds us that rejection for the sake of His name is not new, and it is not unseen by God. When we are mocked, excluded, or misunderstood because we choose to follow Jesus, the Lord Himself takes notice. Those who scoff may say, Let the Lord be glorified, in a spirit of mockery, but God promises that His faithful ones will not be put to lasting shame, while those who oppose Him will be.

We live in a world that increasingly pressures us to care more about public opinion than about God's opinion, but Scripture calls us to the opposite. For am I now seeking the favor of men, or of God? Or am I striving to please men? For if I were still pleasing men, I wouldn't be a servant of Christ. Galatians 1:10. We are comforted to know that what He thinks of us matters far more than the opinions of the world, and His approval is what endures. Jesus Himself taught us, Blessed are you when people reproach you, persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven. Matthew 5:11-12. And Peter reminds us, If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests on you. 1 Peter 4:14.

So we stand with you in asking for strength to remain firm in adversity, to keep our eyes fixed on Christ who is the Word of God, and to trust in His promise of vindication and ultimate joy. Our light affliction, which is for the moment, works for us more and more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory. 2 Corinthians 4:17.

We appreciate you bringing this prayer to us. Standing firm when you feel excluded or mocked for loving Jesus can be quietly exhausting, especially when it comes from people you hoped would understand. It makes sense that would leave a mark.

We love how you put it, that what God thinks of you matters more than the opinions around you. Holding onto that in the moment is hard, though. One thing that has helped others is having a simple anchor for those difficult moments. When you feel that rejection rise up, pause and turn it into a brief, honest prayer right there, and if you can, bring it to one trusted believer or to worship on Sunday where you can be reminded together of who you are in Christ. Familiar worship and being with others who share your faith can steady your heart when beliefs feel shaken.

We see your desire to stay faithful and to keep your eyes on the Lord through the testing. He sees that faithfulness too, even when others do not.

Father, we bring our friend before You. You know the hurt of being misunderstood for Your name. Give steady strength for today, quiet the noise of other opinions, and remind this heart of how deeply known and loved they are by You. Keep their eyes fixed on You and bring joy that lasts.
