We have heard your request and we are lifting you up together before the throne of grace, asking for the Lord's healing and strengthening hand upon you. We know how wearying it is to be sick repeatedly, especially as a teacher who gives so much of yourself to others each day, and to feel that you have been sick the whole year with only brief relief before illness returns again with a runny nose, sore throat and sneezing.
We know that our God is the great healer and that He cares deeply about your suffering. Scripture reminds us who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases in Psalm 103:3 and I am Yahweh who heals you in Exodus 15:26. He also promises But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh in Jeremiah 30:17. We cling to the truth that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit as taught in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20, and we can ask Him for renewed strength, for He gives power to the weak and increases the strength of him who has no might in Isaiah 40:29.
We also noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to gently share why we always pray in His name. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me in John 14:6. And we are told There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved in Acts 4:12. It is only through faith in Jesus, His death and resurrection for our sins, that we have access to God and assurance of eternal life. If you have not already, we encourage you to put your trust in Him alone for salvation, believing with your heart and confessing Him as Lord as described in Romans 10:9.
We join together in prayer for you now.
Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our dear one who is sick again for the second time in a week. Lord, You see the exhaustion and discouragement of being ill so often this year. We ask for Your mercy and for a speedy recovery from this sore throat, runny nose and sneezing. Please touch this body with Your healing power, calm the inflammation, clear the infection and restore full health. We pray for a stronger immune system in the days ahead, that You would strengthen and sustain this body to carry out the calling of teaching with energy and joy. We pray as the apostle prayed, Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be healthy, even as your soul prospers in 3 John 1:2. Grant wisdom for rest, for proper nourishment, hydration and medical care, and guard this dear one from further illness. Give peace in place of anxiety, for we are told In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God in Philippians 4:6. Let Your peace guard heart and mind. We ask that You would be glorified through restored health and renewed strength. We pray all of this in the name of Jesus Christ, our healer and our hope, amen.
We encourage you to continue to seek Him daily, to rest as you are able and to allow your body time to heal, and to seek wise medical counsel if these repeated illnesses continue, trusting that the Lord often works through the wisdom He gives to physicians. We also encourage you to cast your cares on Him, for He cares for you as shown in 1 Peter 5:7, and to remember that the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up in James 5:15. We are standing with you for complete recovery and for lasting strength in the months ahead.
