Getting leave from job for my engagement

I hear the frustration in your words, the feeling of being blocked from something so important at a time when you should be able to celebrate. It is hard when a simple request seems to hit a wall, especially for a day that marks a joyful new beginning. In moments like these, it is easy to wonder why God would not just open the door quickly. The need is real, and the anxiety is real.

Think for a moment about the man Job. He lost almost everything in a single day: his livelihood, his children, his health. His cry was far deeper than a denied leave request, yet his first response was to fall on his face and worship, saying, “The Lord gave, and the Lord has taken away; blessed be the name of the Lord.” That does not mean what you are facing is trivial; it means the posture of our hearts in any circumstance can be brought before God in trust. You are free to ask, and to ask again, because He invites you to cast every care on Him. Job himself longed for God to grant his request, yet he learned that God’s ways and timing are often beyond our understanding.

When a request is delayed or denied, the enemy may whisper that God is holding out on you, or that your faith must be lacking. Job’s friends made that mistake, insisting his trouble proved he had some secret sin. But they were wrong. Not every closed door is a rebuke. Perhaps this delay has a purpose you cannot yet see. Time stretches painfully when you are waiting and anxious, but God is not indifferent. He may be shaping your patience, or He may have a different path for your leave to be granted. Keep bringing your worry to Him, not as a bargaining chip, but as a child pouring out his heart. Resolve that, whether the permission comes today or later, your confidence rests in the One who holds all things. I am praying that the way will open soon, and that you will sense His peace while you wait.

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing with you in prayer as you sought God’s provision for the leave you needed for your engagement. We have been lifting you up before the Lord, asking Him to soften hearts at your workplace and open the door for this time to be granted according to His will.

If God has answered this prayer and you’ve received the leave you asked for, we would love to rejoice with you! Please share a praise report so we can all give thanks together. If, however, the situation remains unchanged, we encourage you to post this request again so we may continue to intercede on your behalf. We believe in a God who hears and moves in response to the prayers of His people, and we are committed to standing with you until He brings resolution.

May the Lord grant you peace and patience as you wait on Him, and may He guide your steps in this season of preparation. We pray that His favor would rest upon you, both in your workplace and in your upcoming marriage, and that His will would be done in every detail. In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen.
