Disciple of Prayer
Dear Lord Jesus, Help me get a job at this zoo I work. I want a part time job to do things I can do outside of work. Like build my gig. Then the fall of next move out please. New home and life. In Jesus Name Amen

We hear your heart’s desire for provision, purpose, and a fresh start, and we join you in bringing these requests before our Heavenly Father. Work is a gift from God, and He cares deeply about the details of your life, including where you labor and how you steward your time and talents. The Word reminds us in Colossians 3:23-24, "And whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ." Whether your hands are caring for animals, building a business, or managing a home, may every task be done unto Him with excellence and joy.

We also lift up your desire to move forward into a new home and season of life. Change can feel both exciting and uncertain, but Proverbs 16:9 assures us, "A man’s heart plans his course, but the Lord directs his steps." Trust that as you seek Him, He will guide your path and open doors no one can shut. However, we must gently remind you that while God delights in blessing His children, our plans must align with His timing and will. Are you seeking His wisdom through prayer and Scripture as you consider these next steps? Have you surrendered your timeline to Him, asking for His peace to guard your heart if things don’t unfold as quickly as you hope?

We notice your mention of building a "gig" alongside your job. While entrepreneurship can be a God-honoring pursuit, we encourage you to examine your motives and priorities. Are you pursuing this gig out of a desire to serve others, glorify God, and provide for your needs, or is it driven by a restless longing for more independence or financial gain? 1 Timothy 6:6-8 warns, "But godliness with contentment is great gain. For we brought nothing into the world, and we certainly can’t carry anything out. But having food and clothing, we will be content with that." Contentment in Christ is the foundation for wise stewardship, not the other way around.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the Author of our lives and the Provider of every good gift. Lord, we lift up this dear brother/sister to You, asking that You would open the right doors for employment at the zoo or wherever You have prepared. Give them favor with those in authority, clarity in their steps, and peace as they wait on You. If this part-time work is Your will, let it come to pass swiftly, but if You have something different in mind, grant them the faith to trust Your plan.

Father, we also pray for their desire to build a business and transition into a new home. Search their heart and reveal any areas where their plans might be out of alignment with Yours. Teach them to number their days and seek first Your kingdom, knowing that all these things will be added unto them. If there is any hint of discontentment or impatience, replace it with Your perfect peace that surpasses understanding.

Lord, we ask that You would go before them in every decision. Whether they stay or move, let their life reflect Your glory. Guard them from the love of money or the pursuit of comfort at the expense of Your calling. May their home, wherever it may be, be a place of worship, hospitality, and Your presence. And if there are any unconfessed sins or distractions hindering their walk with You, reveal them now so they may repent and experience the fullness of Your grace.

We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, they shall condemn. You are their Provider, their Shepherd, and their Peace. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Lastly, we encourage you to meditate on Psalm 37:4-5: "Also delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord. Trust also in Him, and He will do this." Delight in Him first, and watch how He shapes your desires to match His own. If you haven’t already, consider seeking godly counsel from a pastor or mature believer who can help you discern these decisions in light of Scripture. You are not alone, God is with you, and so are we.

It is good to sit with you in this request, because it is clear you are not simply asking for any job, you are thinking carefully about the kind of work that will open up space for the other things God has placed in your heart. That desire to build something of your own, to work with your hands in creation at the zoo, and to eventually take the step of establishing a new home is not an accident. We have seen how often the drive to create and steward comes from the One who first made us to be makers and caretakers.

Sometimes the pressure to find exactly the right next step can feel heavy, as though your whole future hangs on one hiring decision. While we seek God's direction earnestly, His guidance often unfolds through using the wisdom and abilities He has already given us, taking the next reasonable step with peace. Explore what you need for this zoo application, prepare as well as you can, and then trust that your security rests in the One who opens doors, not in the door itself. You are not waiting alone.

Let us pray for you now.

Lord Jesus, thank You for the practical heart beating behind this request. We lift up this zoo job to You, give wisdom in the application, favor with those making decisions, and a calm heart while waiting. Bless the desire to build something of his own and to one day step into a new home. Guide each move with Your steady hand, and let him know Your nearness in the process. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

It is a right thing to bring your desires before the Lord, for He bids us cast all our care upon Him. Yet remember, the mercies of this life are but small things compared to the great salvation. Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and these other matters shall be added in their proper measure. If the Lord shall give you this post at the zoo, so be it; if He withholds it, He has some better portion for you.

Though thy beginning was small, yet thy latter end should greatly increase. That is a true word, whether spoken by Bildad or written by the Spirit. Your present estate may seem pinched, your prospects narrow as a winter’s day, but God delights to take a little and make it much. When Job sat among the ashes, he could not see the double portion that awaited him, yet it came at the appointed season. Down with you, then, into the dust of self-abasement, and the next turn must be upward.

You speak of building your gig and moving out. These are lawful hopes, but take heed that your heart is not anchored in them. The presence of God is your chief necessity. If He go not with you, no new home shall bring peace; if His blessing rest upon you, a cave may become the gate of heaven. I have seen souls in this very congregation who could rise up and say, “Christ met with me here,” and that memory is sweeter than any worldly success.

Be content to begin where you are. The apostles were not to pick and choose their starting place, but to begin at Jerusalem, that very city where the blood of Jesus was freshly shed. So you, in your present station, with all its hidden trials, must glorify God. The little spark of grace in you may seem impossible to discern, but living things have small beginnings. Wait upon the Lord with patience, for in all this Job sinned not, nor charged God foolishly. Neither should you, if the answer tarries.

Go forth to your labour with a mind to work, not with a spirit of complaint. If you should gain that place, serve as unto the Lord and not unto men. A part-time employment is not license to idleness in the things of God. Let your mercies anoint you with fresh oil, and your speech of the Saviour be like glad tidings newly told. Come and eat the new corn of the land, and drink the new wine of the kingdom, for Christ is all.

And should this prayer not be answered as you wish, remember Job’s turning point: he saw the Lord, and then he was restored. Seek to see Him more clearly than ever before. The world recedes, it disappears; Christ only stands out before the believer’s view. Let that be your true ambition. Then, whether employed in a zoo or cast upon the bare ground, you shall find that He is enough.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You pray for a part-time job at ###, to build your own ### and then move out to a ### and life. It is right to labor and to ask the Lord for daily bread, but be careful that your earthly plans do not seize your heart too tightly. Our true citizenship is in heaven, and we are to live always girded, ready to depart, with our hearts fixed on the Jerusalem above. When Christ fed the multitudes with five loaves, He proved He can supply any need from the smallest means. Do not suppose that your happiness depends on ###, or your ###, or a ###. These things are passing shadows. Seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added as He sees best.

Let your work, whatever it is, be done as to the Lord, and make almsgiving the hedge about your life. It was Job’s open hand to the poor that made the devil say, “Hast Thou not made a hedge about him and his house?” That hedge is stronger than any lock or lease. If God delays to answer or gives something other than you ask, do not be like Thomas, half-believing and needing to see. Trust His voice. He often waits to strengthen faith and to show that the soul’s health matters more than outward circumstances. So commit your desire to Him, work diligently as if working for Christ Himself, and let your ### and life be found in Him alone.
