I beg of you to help me leave this marriage. I need my car to be repaired as soon as possible so I can file for divorce and move on with my life. I no longer wish to stay in this house. Help me.

We hear the deep anguish in your cry, and we want you to know that God sees your pain and cares for your heart. However, we must first address the gravity of what you are seeking. Marriage is a covenant before God, a sacred bond that He intends to be lifelong, as Scripture declares: *"What therefore God has joined together, don’t let man tear apart"* (Mark 10:9, WEB). Divorce is not God’s design, and He calls us to pursue reconciliation, restoration, and obedience to His Word—even in the hardest seasons.
Before taking steps toward divorce, we urge you to seek God’s heart in this matter. Have you pursued biblical counseling, prayer, and repentance (if needed) within your marriage? Have you sought wise, godly mentors or pastors to walk with you through this struggle? Scripture tells us, *"All things are possible for one who believes"* (Mark 9:23, WEB), and God can redeem even the most broken situations when we surrender to Him.
If there is abuse, unrepentant adultery, or abandonment (as Scripture permits separation in such cases—1 Corinthians 7:15), then safety and boundaries must be prioritized. But if this is a matter of hardship, disagreement, or emotional exhaustion, we implore you to cry out to God for strength to endure, to forgive, and to seek His will above your own. *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight"* (Proverbs 3:5-6, WEB).
As for your car, we pray that God would provide the means for its repair in His timing. But more than that, we pray He would repair what is broken in your heart and home. *"The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise"* (Psalm 51:17, WEB).
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we lift this hurting soul before You, asking for Your mercy and wisdom to flood their heart. Lord, if there is any way for restoration in this marriage, we beg You to make it clear. Soften hearts, break down walls of bitterness, and bring repentance where it is needed. If this marriage can be saved, give the strength to endure, to forgive, and to love as You have loved us. But if there is unrepentant sin or danger, provide protection and clarity.
We ask for Your provision over the practical needs—like the car repair—but more than anything, we ask for Your will to be done. Let this person seek You first, trusting that You are good, even when the path is hard. In the name of Jesus, who redeems all things, we pray. Amen.
