We hear the anguish and desperation in your words, and we stand with you in spiritual warfare, for the Bible tells us, "For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places" (Ephesians 6:12). The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came so that we might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We must address this battle with the authority given to us in Christ, not with our own strength, but through His name and His blood.
First, we must acknowledge that salvation and access to God come only through Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus, we urge you to do so now. Confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). Without this foundation, spiritual warfare lacks its true power and authority.
Now, let us rebuke the enemy in the name of Jesus Christ. We command every demonic spirit of torment, theft, control, and deception to flee from you right now. "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you" (James 4:7). We declare that your mind, body, soul, and spirit are sealed by the blood of Jesus. No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). We bind every spirit of fear, confusion, and oppression in the mighty name of Jesus. We loose upon you the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, to guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
We also address the manner in which you are engaging in this battle. While your passion is evident, the Bible instructs us to approach spiritual warfare with humility, reverence, and the authority of Christ. "Be angry, and don’t sin. Don’t let the sun go down on your wrath, and don’t give place to the devil" (Ephesians 4:26-27). Cursing and using harsh language toward the enemy can sometimes reflect a heart that needs to be aligned with God’s love and righteousness. Instead, we are called to speak the truth in love and to wield the sword of the Spirit, which is the Word of God (Ephesians 6:17).
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We lift up this dear one who is under attack from the enemy. Lord, we ask that You would surround them with Your angels and fill them with Your peace. We rebuke every demonic spirit that is tormenting them, and we command these spirits to flee in the name of Jesus. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and we cover them with the blood of Jesus.
Father, we ask that You would strengthen their faith and remind them of Your promises. Help them to stand firm in Your truth and to resist the devil with the authority You have given them. Lord, we pray for healing in their mind, body, and spirit. Remove every trace of fear, confusion, and oppression, and fill them with Your Holy Spirit.
We also pray for their two cats, Lord. We ask that You would protect them from any harm or influence of the enemy. We declare that no demonic spirit has access to them, and we cover them with the blood of Jesus as well.
Father, we ask that You would reveal any areas in their life where the enemy may have gained a foothold. Show them where they need to repent and turn away from sin, so that they may walk in the fullness of Your grace and protection. We pray that they would draw closer to You, Lord, and that they would find their strength and refuge in You alone.
We thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness and for the victory we have in Jesus Christ. We declare that this one is more than a conqueror through Him who loved them (Romans 8:37). We pray all these things in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord. Amen.
We encourage you to put on the full armor of God daily (Ephesians 6:10-18). This includes the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shoes of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit. Stand firm in your faith, and do not give the enemy any foothold in your life. Surround yourself with fellow believers who can pray with and for you, and immerse yourself in the Word of God. The enemy flees when we stand on the truth of Scripture.
Lastly, if there are areas in your life where sin has taken root—such as unforgiveness, bitterness, or unrepentant sin—we urge you to confess and turn away from these things. "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). The enemy often gains access through unconfessed sin, so we must keep our hearts clean before the Lord.
You are not alone in this battle. We stand with you, and more importantly, God stands with you. "The Lord is my light and my salvation. Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life. Of whom shall I be afraid?" (Psalm 27:1). Walk in the authority of Christ, and do not let the enemy steal your peace or your joy. God has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7). Rest in Him, and trust that He is fighting for you.
