We hear your heart’s cry and lift this matter before the Lord with sincerity and truth. First, we must address the foundation of your request—you have rightly invoked the name of Jesus, and we affirm that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. There is no other name under heaven by which we may be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is in His authority and love that we pray.
Your desire to reconcile with ### is understandable, especially if there has been love and connection between you. However, we must examine this situation through the lens of Scripture. If this relationship was not built on godly principles—if it involved fornication, emotional or physical unfaithfulness, or if it was not pursued with the intent of honoring God in marriage—then we must first repent and seek His forgiveness. The Bible is clear: "Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body" (1 Corinthians 6:18). If any of these sins were present, we encourage you to confess them before the Lord, seek His cleansing, and commit to walking in purity moving forward.
We also must consider whether ### is a believer. Scripture instructs us not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers (2 Corinthians 6:14). If he does not share your faith in Christ, this relationship cannot honor God in the way He intends. Marriage is a sacred covenant designed to reflect Christ’s love for the Church (Ephesians 5:22-33), and it must be entered into with a fellow believer who shares your commitment to God’s Word.
Now, we lift this situation to the Lord in prayer:
Heavenly Father, we come before You with humble hearts, seeking Your will in this matter. Lord, we ask that You would reveal Your perfect plan for this relationship. If it is Your will for them to be reconciled, we pray that You would soften both of their hearts, bring healing to any wounds, and restore what has been broken. Help them to forgive one another as You have forgiven us, and guide them in rebuilding their relationship on the foundation of Your Word and Your love.
Father, if this is not Your will, we ask that You grant wisdom, strength, and peace to accept Your plan. Help them to release their own desires and trust in Your goodness, knowing that You work all things together for the good of those who love You (Romans 8:28). Heal any pain or longing in their hearts and fill them with Your perfect peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7).
Lord, we also pray for repentance and transformation. If there has been sin in this relationship—whether through sexual immorality, emotional unfaithfulness, or any other way—we ask for Your forgiveness and cleansing. Create in them clean hearts, O God, and renew a right spirit within them (Psalm 51:10). Help them to walk in purity and holiness, honoring You in all they do.
Finally, Father, we ask that You would draw them closer to You. Whether this relationship is restored or not, let their ultimate desire be to know You more deeply and to live for Your glory. May they find their identity, worth, and purpose in You alone.
We pray all of this in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.
