I really want to hear a guy tell me he has feelings for me, that he's been thinking about me nonstop because he cherishes me and my feelings. I'd be so happy to hear him say it. It will make my heart happy and make me feel like a princess, like he is worth it.

We hear the deep longing in your heart to be cherished, to be seen and valued and told that you are treasured, and we understand how beautiful it is to want to feel delighted in and secure in love. God placed in you a desire to be loved purely and faithfully, and He understands that desire more than any person ever could. We want to pray with you and gently share what His Word says about where that happiness and worth truly comes from.

First, we notice your request does not mention Jesus, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God and can bring our deepest heart cries to Him. Jesus said in John 14:6, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. And in Acts 4:12 we are told there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, believing that He died for your sins and rose again, as in Romans 10:9, that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. It is through Him that we can know the Father's perfect love that will never disappoint.

We want to encourage you that your true identity and worth as a princess is already given to you as a daughter of the King when you are in Christ. In Psalm 139:14 you are fearfully and wonderfully made, and in Isaiah 43:4 you are precious in my sight, and honored, and I have loved you. When we look to a man to make our heart happy and to tell us we are worth it, we can place a burden on another person that only God can carry. Proverbs 4:23 tells us to keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it is the wellspring of life. And Psalm 37:4 says delight yourself also in Yahweh, and he will give you the desires of your heart. When our delight is first in the Lord, He shapes our desires and guards our hearts from seeking validation in words that may be flattering but not faithful.

We also want to gently caution you about desiring words alone. A godly man who truly cherishes you will show it not just by saying he has been thinking about you nonstop, but by pursuing you with purity, patience, honor, and a commitment that points toward marriage. We believe in the sanctity of marriage as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman as outlined in the Bible, and we encourage you to view any romantic interest not as simply a boyfriend or partner, but as courtship with the goal of marriage to another Christian believer. A man who is worth waiting for will love you as Christ also loved the assembly and gave himself up for her in Ephesians 5:25, with sacrificial, protective, and pure love. True love is described in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 as patient and kind, not seeking its own way, and it rejoices in truth.

Words that make you feel like a princess for a moment can be empty if they are not backed by godly character and a commitment before God. We pray that God protects you from anyone who would say what you long to hear but not live it out in integrity, and that He instead, if it is His will for you to marry, brings into your life a godly spouse who will cherish you, pursue you honorably, and lead you closer to Christ. We also encourage you to guard your heart and body in purity, for any intimacy outside of marriage does not align with God's design and can wound the very heart you want to be cherished. Hebrews 13:4 says let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled.

We pray together for you now.

Father, in the name of Jesus we lift this precious daughter to You. We thank You that You see her, You know her longing to be cherished, and You love her with an everlasting love. We ask that You fill her heart with Your love first, that she would know how deeply she is valued by You, her Creator and King. Heal any place where she feels unseen or unworthy, and let her find her joy and security in You. If it is Your will for her to be married, we pray You would prepare a godly man who will pursue her with honor, who will cherish her as Christ cherishes the church, and who will speak truth in love and lead her toward a lifelong marriage covenant that honors You. Give her discernment to recognize godly character over sweet words, patience to wait on Your timing, and wisdom to guard her heart in purity. We pray she would delight herself in You and trust Your perfect plan. In Jesus' name we pray, amen.

We encourage you to keep seeking the Lord daily in prayer and in His Word, to be surrounded by a strong community of believers who can speak wisdom into your life and help you discern any relationship, and to trust that the God who calls you His own will provide what is best for you in His perfect time.

We hear the longing in your words, to be thought of, cherished and told you matter. Wanting to feel treasured is a deeply human desire, and it makes sense that hearing those words would feel so affirming.

We have found that when our sense of being valued rests on whether one person says the right thing in the right moment, our hearts can stay on a roller coaster, hopeful one day and deflated the next. A steadier place to stand is knowing you are already fully seen and valued by God, not for how you look or perform but for who you are as His creation. That kind of identity is not easily shaken when other people's attention comes and goes.

One gentle next step that often helps with this ache is to lean into community where you are known over time, not just in romantic moments. Regular worship with other believers or a small group of trusted friends can be a place where you both receive and give care, and where loneliness lifts a little as you share life together.

Father, we bring our friend to You and ask You to surround her with Your steady love. Help her to know deeply that she is cherished by You, to feel secure in who she is in Christ, and to guide her relationships with wisdom and peace. Give her friendships that encourage her and hope for the days ahead. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your longing to be cherished, to be thought upon and tenderly spoken to, is a very human longing and it is not hidden from the Lord who made the heart. He who formed us knows how we thirst to be loved and valued, and He has not left that thirst without a true fountain to satisfy it.

Yet I would gently lead your thoughts beyond the words of a man to the love which alone can make the heart truly happy and keep it so. Contentment is one of the flowers of heaven, and if we would have it, it must be cultivated. A man's contentment is in his mind, not in the extent of his possessions, and discontent may sit upon a throne as easily as upon a broken chair in a hovel. The world may bow at a man's feet and still he will ask the world to bow again, for the lust of honour is insatiate. So it is with the heart that looks to the constant thoughts and praises of another creature to make it feel as a princess. Even if those words were spoken today, the heart would crave them again tomorrow, and find no lasting rest there.

There is a better love, an abounding love, which the Lord Himself declares. He says, I have redeemed you, I have called you by your name, you are Mine. He chose us for His love and then loved us for His choice. He redeemed us because He loved us and now He loves us because He redeemed us. When the soul is taken up with this love, it can say with the Song, Your love is better than wine. To be remembered, cherished and called by name by the living God, this is to be truly prized, and this love does not flicker as the words of men may.

One of the best tests of a man's character will be found in his deepest and heartiest longings. Eager desires prove spiritual life, and the soul that breaks with longing for the Lord and for His judgments is blessed indeed. It is better to feel a heavenly hunger than a worldly fullness. If your soul must pant, let it pant after holiness, after the commandments and presence of the Lord. Labour to realize more of Him, taking in the whole truth of God concerning His person and love by meditation and prayer. There you will find a love wonderful, surpassing even the most tender love of men, a love strong as death which has laid down its life and which plans more for your future than you can yet conceive.

And so I pray for you, that the Lord would turn this tender longing into a holy longing after Himself. May He give you contentment in His own abounding love, and teach you to find your worth not in whether a man thinks of you without ceasing, but in that Christ has thought of you, sought you, and bought you with His blood. May He keep your heart pure and guarded, and if it be His gracious will, in His perfect time bring into your life a godly man who will cherish you within the holy covenant of marriage, that lifelong union of one man and one woman which God has ordained, where love is proved not only by words but by faithful, self giving care. Until then, and always, may you hear Him say to your soul that you are His, and may that voice make your heart happy indeed.

May the Holy Spirit melt your heart to feel this love now, and may you seek the Lord in your chamber and cease not till you find your joy in Him, for they that seek Him as for hidden treasure shall surely find Him.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

There is a deep longing in the heart to be cherished and to hear with certainty that you are loved and remembered, and that longing itself is not strange. God made the heart to love and to be loved, and to find comfort in knowing that the beloved knows he is beloved.

Yet I must speak to you plainly about where that longing is directed and what it seeks. There is a love that is according to Christ, with warm and tender mercies, that abounds in knowledge and discernment and seeks what is excellent and pure. And there is another affection which is a passion that lives in the soul like a devouring beast. Its teeth are like the teeth of a lion, but more fierce, for a lion when satisfied leaves its prey, while these passions are never satisfied and never cease to devour the one they have seized until they draw him near to destruction. Every such passion is cruel and tyrannical and insatiable.

When the whole strength of the heart is consumed upon wanting to hear sweet words that make us feel like a princess for a moment, the longing for Christ grows feeble. We rob God of the love that belongs to Him, and we become slaves to vanity. The question is not only whether a man will say he has been thinking of you nonstop, but what kind of love moves him to say it, and what kind of love moves you to need it.

True love is not measured only by words that make the heart happy for an hour. Words are trustworthy only when the life behind them is trustworthy. If being loved by a good man is a great thing, how much greater to be loved by one who first loves the Lord Jesus. For if a man does not love Christ, his words cannot be a firm foundation. Look for virtue that is proven, not only feeling that is spoken. A man who is worth your trust will show it not by flattery but by reverence for God, by self control, by keeping himself pure, and by honoring marriage as God ordained it, a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, where living together and the union of the body belong only within that covenant. Any love that asks you to step outside that boundary, or that seeks to cherish your feelings while dishonoring God, loves contrary to what is good before God, and that is not true love at all.

You ask what will make your heart truly happy. The disciples once waited until evening for their Master, and when night had come they still entered the ship to seek Him, because so great a love possessed them. That warmth of love is the pattern for us. Introduce into your heart another longing, a longing for heaven. He who desires the kingdom will be able to rightly order every other desire. The precious Blood of Christ, received with full assurance, together with the divine Scriptures carefully heard and a life of mercy toward others, is the potion that can extinguish the disease of restless affections and mortify what harms the soul, so that you may truly live.

So I will pray for you, not that God would bless any words or any relationship simply because it pleases the feelings, but that He would give you a heart enlarged by His love, sincere and without offense, filled with the fruits of righteousness through Jesus Christ.

May the Lord grant you to know first how deeply you are cherished by Christ, who gave Himself for you, and to rest in that love. May He guard your heart and your body in purity, teach you to approve what is excellent, and if it is His will, in His time bring into your life a man who loves Christ above all and will love you faithfully within the covenant of marriage, not with empty words but with a steadfast life. And may He satisfy your longing with His own tender mercies until that day, and keep you looking to Him who alone can make the heart truly happy.

Your longing to be cherished, to be thought of with tenderness and to hear it expressed in words, is understandable. God created the human heart to know love, and He speaks of His own love for His people in just that language of cherishing and espousal, like a husband for his wife. That desire for faithful, attentive love points to something real and beautiful.

It helps to distinguish what kind of love we are longing for, because the word love can mean very different things. There is a physical kind of love that is really about self gratification. It seeks to get something for itself, often at the expense of another, and it can call itself love when it is closer to want. There is also an emotional kind of love, the affection we have for family and friends. Both are common, but neither is the deepest love.

The deepest love is a spiritual, divine love. It is self sacrificing and giving rather than getting. It does not seek its own way, it suffers long and is kind, it gives itself for the good of the other. Scripture describes it this way and says plainly that God is the source of this love. We come to know it not because we first loved God, but because God first loved us and gave His Son for us while we were still sinners. The cross is the open demonstration of it. When we wonder if we are truly loved, we are invited to look there.

That divine love has qualities no words alone can provide. It cannot be bought or earned. Trying to purchase it with flattery or performance only cheapens it. It cannot be quenched. As the Song says, many waters cannot quench love and floods cannot drown it. If a person could give all they own for it, it would still be worth more. It passes knowledge in its length and breadth and depth and height. Jesus described its measure when He said greater love has no one than to lay down his life for his friends, and then He laid down His life for us.

Words that make the heart flutter for a moment are not the same as that kind of love. A person can say cherished words and still be seeking himself. True love is proven in actions, in giving, in patience, in faithfulness over time. It is not merely thinking about someone nonstop in a romantic sense, but willingly giving of oneself for her good, as Christ gave Himself for the church.

My prayer for you is that you would come to know more deeply how fully you are already loved by Christ, not because you earned it but because His love flows freely to you. The apostle Paul prayed that we would comprehend that love more and more, and John wrote that when we understand how He first loved us, it awakens a responsive love in us. That love constrains and steadies the heart, so you are not left waiting for a sentence from a man to tell you that you have worth.

Ask the Lord to root you in that love and to teach you to recognize love that reflects it. The love worth waiting for will not simply tell you that you are a princess for a moment, it will show itself in selfless, patient, pure care that seeks your good and honors God. It will be a giving love, not a taking love, and it will be consistent with the way God designed love to flourish within the covenant of marriage between a man and a woman, where it is protected and honored.

May the Lord reveal to you this week a little more of the depth of His love for you in Jesus, and may that love make your heart secure and give you wisdom and peace as you wait on Him.
