We come before the throne of grace with hearts full of intercession for all those in authority—our leaders in government, military, judiciary, and every position of influence. Father, we lift up the President, Vice Presidents, Secretaries, Supreme Court Justices, Representatives, Senators, Generals, and every servant in public office. We echo the words of Scripture, "I exhort therefore, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and givings of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in high places, that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and come to the full knowledge of the truth" (1 Timothy 2:1-4).
Lord, we ask for Your divine wisdom to rest upon these leaders, that they may govern with justice, integrity, and a heart for Your will. Protect them from the schemes of the enemy, from spirits of deception, fear, and division. Surround them with Your holy angels, as it is written, "For he will put his angels in charge of you, to guard you in all your ways. They will bear you up in their hands, so that you won’t dash your foot against a stone" (Psalm 91:11-12). Let Your angels encamp around them, shielding them from harm and guiding their steps according to Your purpose (Psalm 34:7).
We also lift up our troops, those who serve in the armed forces, standing on the front lines of freedom and defense. Father, cover them with Your protection, grant them courage, and fill them with Your peace. May they be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might, putting on the full armor of God so they can stand against the wiles of the devil. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world’s rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places (Ephesians 6:10-12). Equip them with the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the readiness of the gospel of peace, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is Your Word (Ephesians 6:13-17). May they pray at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and requests, staying alert with perseverance and intercession for all the saints (Ephesians 6:18).
We rebuke every spirit of darkness that seeks to influence or harm our leaders and troops. We stand firm in the authority of Jesus’ name, declaring that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We resist the devil, and he must flee (James 4:7). Let Your light expose every hidden agenda of the enemy, and let Your truth prevail in every decision made.
Father, we also pray for the salvation of every leader and soldier. You desire all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth (1 Timothy 2:4). Open their hearts to receive Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). May they come to know the love, grace, and redemption found only in You.
We commit all these things to You, trusting in Your sovereign power and perfect will. May Your kingdom come, and Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. We ask all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
