We hear the heaviness in your heart and we join with you before the throne of grace in Jesus' name, lifting up every part of this burden you have shared. We know this cycle of feeling down, feeling far from God, and struggling to even pray can feel endless, but our God is near and He hears the cry of a contrite heart.

We want to speak directly and lovingly about the struggle with pornography. This is sexual immorality that God calls us to flee from, for it defiles the body which is meant to be a temple of the Holy Spirit and it hinders purity of heart. The scripture says Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body 1 Corinthians 6:18 and Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God Matthew 5:8. We rebuke this sin in love and we urge you to turn from it completely, not to manage it but to forsake it through repentance. There is forgiveness and cleansing when we confess, for If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9. God has also promised No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it 1 Corinthians 10:13. We pray for you to walk in that way of escape, to renew your mind and not be conformed to this world but be transformed by the renewing of your mind Romans 12:2, to put practical guards in place, to remove access, to seek accountability with a mature believing brother, and to fill your mind daily with the Word.

We also hear that you feel so far from God and that you even struggle to pray. Please be encouraged that the Lord has not moved away from you. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit Psalm 34:18 and Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you James 4:8. Even when you have no words, the Holy Spirit intercedes for you, and we pray that God will create in you a clean heart and renew a right spirit within you Psalm 51:10. Your desire for the presence of Jesus is precious and He delights in that hunger. We thank you that you named the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and it is in His name that we are saved and heard.

We lift up your head and your health and the oppression you feel. We pray against any demonic attack and remind you that we are called to Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you James 4:7 and to Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil Ephesians 6:11. We pray for healing and wholeness in your body and mind, for the Lord forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases Psalm 103:3, and for peace to guard your heart and mind as you bring every anxiety to Him, for In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7.

We bring your finances before the Lord as well. We understand how terrible and heavy that burden feels when the bank account is low. We pray for provision and for wisdom and stewardship, and we remember His promise that He will never leave us nor forsake us Hebrews 13:5 and that our Father knows what we need and will supply what is needed as we seek first His Kingdom.

We also hear your deep and godly desire to be married and to have children. That desire itself is good and honorable, for marriage is God's design as a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman and children are a gift from Him. We pray that God will prepare you to be a godly husband and father, and that He will lead you in purity while you wait. We encourage you to pursue courtship with the goal of marriage to another Christian believer, keeping yourself pure and honoring God with your body as you wait for the spouse He may provide.

We now pray together for you.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up our brother to You. We ask You to forgive his sins and cleanse him from all unrighteousness and break the chain of pornography over his life. Give him strength to flee temptation, purity of heart and mind, and power by Your Holy Spirit to walk in holiness. Heal his body and his head, lift this heaviness and depression, and let Your peace guard his heart. Rebuke every demonic attack and let the enemy flee as he submits himself to You. Provide for his financial needs according to Your riches and give him wisdom. Draw him close when he feels far away, teach him to pray again, and fill him with the tangible presence of Jesus. Soften and heal his heart, not to be attacked but to be transformed by Your love, and prepare him for a godly marriage and family if it is Your will. Let him know he is loved, seen, and not alone. We ask all this in the name of Jesus, our only hope and Savior, amen.

We have been praying for you since we read your note, and thank you for being so honest about what you are carrying. Wanting purity and to break free from pornography while feeling stuck in the same cycle is exhausting, and we hear how heavy everything feels right now with your health, your finances, and feeling far from God and even struggling to pray.

That longing you named for marriage and children and simply to sense the presence of Jesus again tells us a lot about your heart. God sees that desire, and feeling distant from Him does not mean He has moved away from you.

One thing that helps many who feel caught in this kind of cycle is not trying to fight it alone. Shame often pushes us into isolation, which only makes the pull stronger. A steady next step could be inviting one safe, mature person to walk with you regularly, whether a pastor, a Christian counselor, or a small support group focused on purity, someone you can be honest with quickly and check in with each week for accountability and encouragement.

You mentioned your head and health and feeling so down. We are praying for healing and strength for you, and we encourage you to also see a doctor or counselor in person who can care for you alongside prayer.

Father, we lift our brother to You. Draw near to him, quiet his heart and mind, and give him strength for each day. Bring trusted people around him, provide for his needs, and help him know Your presence and peace in Jesus' name, amen.

Your honest and broken cry has been heard and we have brought it before the Lord with care. To feel far from God, to feel down in an endless cycle, to feel your head and health burdened and your finances terrible, and at the same time to long for purity and for the presence of Jesus, is not a sign that you are cast off. It is often in such low places that the Lord draws near to the contrite heart.

We have prayed that God will give you purity, for charity and purity are the two great garments of Christianity. Purity in the Scripture indicates separation, a being set apart unto God from that which defiles. Without holiness no man shall see the Lord, yet holiness is not wrought by our own resolve alone but by grace that cleanses and keeps. We have asked the Lord to break the cycle of pornography in your life, not by mere willpower but by making you to hate the sin and to love Christ more, to flee from temptation, to make no provision for the flesh, and to walk in the light with open and accountable fellowship before Him and His people.

You spoke of archers and of demonic attack and of your head being so oppressed. The archers have sorely grieved many a child of God and shot at him and hated him, and their arrows feel cowardly and constant. Yet the promise remains that his bow abode in strength and the arms of his hands were made strong by the mighty power of the God of Jacob. We have prayed that your bow may abide in strength, not by turning aside to fight in your own strength, but by resting in Christ who is your shield. Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world, and no attack of the enemy can pluck you from His hand. We have asked the Lord to guard your mind, to give you peace in your head, to lift the heaviness and depression of spirit, and to give wisdom for your health. If that heaviness persists, seek help also from faithful pastors and, where needed, from those who can care for your body and mind, for the Lord often heals through means.

You said you feel so far from God and that you want to pray but cannot pray. We understand that pain. The psalmist once said in haste, I am cut off from before thine eyes, and afterward he penitently retracted it, loathing the unbelief that had questioned God's tender love and gracious care. The Lord looked upon that hasty expression with mercy and did not cast him away. So He looks upon you. And when you cannot pray as you would, remember that we are called to be praying in the Holy Spirit. He helps our infirmities and intercedes for us when we have no words. We have prayed that the Spirit would give you utterance, even if only in groans and short cries for mercy, and that you would know you are heard for Christ's sake.

We have prayed for your finances, that the Lord who knows your need would provide for your daily bread, give you wisdom as a steward, and keep you from the snare of anxiety about money while you seek first His kingdom. We have prayed that He would set angels to minister and guard you, but above all that His own presence would be your comfort, for it is the presence of Jesus you most desire and that desire is itself a gracious work in your heart. May He cleanse and soften and renew your heart by His Spirit.

Your longing to be married and to have children is a good and holy desire when ordered according to the Lord's design. We have prayed that if it be His will, He would lead you in His time to a godly marriage, a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and that He would keep you pure until that day, and keep you content in Him even now. Above all we have prayed that you would know salvation through Jesus Christ alone, and find in Him pardon for every sin, power over every chain, and nearness when you feel far off.

Let us pray together now. O Lord God of Jacob, look upon this your servant who feels down and distant and beset on every side. Forgive sin through the blood of Jesus Christ, wash and make clean, and set apart for holiness. Break the power of pornography and set the captive free. Strengthen the arms of his hands by your mighty power, rebuke every evil attack, and give peace to his head and health to his body. Provide for his needs according to your riches, teach him to pray by your Spirit even when words fail, and lift him from this endless cycle into the light of your presence. Draw him close to Jesus, keep him, and fulfill your good purposes for his life, to the glory of your name. Amen.

Your honest and painful request has been heard, and I thank you for bringing it into the light. To feel trapped in an endless cycle, far from God, weighed down in body and mind, and burdened by finances, is a heavy affliction. Yet even your desire to pray when you feel you cannot pray is itself a prayer that God hears. He is not distant from the brokenhearted, and He draws near to those who call upon Him through Jesus Christ, in whom alone we have salvation and access to the Father.

I want to pray with you especially for purity and for freedom from pornography. Scripture calls us to follow peace with all men and holiness, and holiness means a chaste and orderly life. Marriage is honorable and pure, but it does not itself make us holy. It preserves the holiness that comes to us through faith in Christ by keeping us from defilement. Pornography does the opposite. It defiles that holiness, it trains the heart in lust, and like the spectacles of the theatre of old, it subverts marriages before they begin, makes husbands and wives contemptible to one another, and leads many into adultery of the heart. It is not wine that makes drunkenness, but the immoderate use of it, and so it is not desire itself that is evil, but the ill use of it outside the bounds God has set. Your longing to be married and to have children is good and honorable before God. Hold fast to that hope in a right way, asking Him to keep you pure until and within that lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, where alone sexual union belongs, and to give you self control and a guarded eye now.

I also lift up your health, your mind, and what you describe as heaviness in your head and attacks of the enemy. Christ is our deliverer, and there is no need to fear when we are hidden in Him. I pray for clarity and peace for your mind, for strength for your body, and for protection from every demonic assault through the power of His name. I pray too for your finances that weigh so terribly on you, that God in His providence would provide for your needs, give you wisdom as a good steward, and teach you to cast your cares on Him, persevering in prayer as the widow who gave herself continually to prayer.

Let me pray for you now.

Heavenly Father, I bring this dear one before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son. Have mercy and forgive sins, cleanse the heart, and break the cycle of pornography. Grant true repentance, power to flee temptation, to turn away the eyes, and to walk in purity. Heal the body and the mind, lift the darkness and heaviness, and guard from every evil attack. You see the financial need and the little that is in the bank, provide what is needed for daily life and give peace and wisdom. When he feels far from You, draw him near by Your Spirit, teach him to pray again even with simple groans, and let him know the presence of Jesus. Keep his desire for marriage and children within Your holy and honorable design, and prepare him to love faithfully within that covenant if it is Your will. Restore hope where there has been endless discouragement, and let holiness that comes through faith be preserved and strengthened. I ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord, who with You and the Holy Spirit lives and reigns forever. Amen.

Continue to seek Him daily in Scripture and prayer, even with brief words, guard what your eyes see, and if possible walk with a faithful pastor or mature believer who can encourage you and hold you accountable. God is able to make you stand and to lead you into freedom step by step.
