We have heard your cry and we join with you before the throne of grace in Jesus' name, for we know how heavy this cycle feels and how far you feel from God right now. We thank you for your honesty about purity and we want you to know you are not alone, and God has not abandoned you even when your heart feels distant and your head feels under attack.
We must lovingly and firmly address the struggle with pornography, because God calls us to purity and holiness. This is not a small habit but sexual immorality that the Lord tells us to flee, for every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body 1 Corinthians 6:18. Jesus taught that everyone who gazes at a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her already in his heart Matthew 5:28. We rebuke this sin together with you not to shame you, but because God wants to set you free, and there is forgiveness and cleansing when we confess, for if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness 1 John 1:9. We pray for a clean heart as David prayed, Create in me a clean heart, O God. Renew a right spirit within me Psalm 51:10, and that you will be blessed as you seek purity, for blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God Matthew 5:8. God has promised no temptation has taken you except what is common to man, but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it 1 Corinthians 10:13.
We also lift up your health, your head, your feelings of being down, and that endless cycle of discouragement, and the financial burden that weighs so heavily on you. The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18, and nothing can separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord Romans 8:38-39. Even when you feel you cannot pray, the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings which cannot be uttered Romans 8:26, so we ask God to draw near as you draw near to Him, for we are told to resist the devil and he will flee from you, draw near to God and he will draw near to you James 4:7-8. We pray against any demonic attack or oppression, remembering that our wrestling is not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers Ephesians 6:12, so we put on the whole armor of God that we may be able to stand Ephesians 6:11. We do not pray to angels, but we ask our Father who commands His angels concerning us, for they are all serving spirits sent out to do service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation Hebrews 1:14 and He will give His angels charge over you Psalm 91:11. For your finances we pray that you will know His provision and peace, for our God will supply every need of yours according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:19, and to be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God and the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7.
We rejoice that you desire marriage and children and the presence of Jesus, for this is a holy and godly desire. We affirm with you that marriage is the lifelong covenant between a man and a woman ordained by God, and we pray that God will lead you to a godly spouse if it is His will, through courtship that honors Him with the goal of marriage to another Christian believer, for we are not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers 2 Corinthians 6:14. We pray you will delight yourself also in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart Psalm 37:4, and that you will keep yourself pure until that marriage, reserving the gift of intimacy for that covenant alone, fleeing fornication and keeping the marriage bed undefiled.
So together we pray, Father in heaven, we come to You only through the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved Acts 4:12 and Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life, no one comes to the Father except through me John 14:6. We lift up our brother to You right now, asking You to break the cycle of pornography and impurity, wash him clean, renew his mind, and give him strength to flee temptation and walk in purity. Heal his body and his head, calm his anxious thoughts, lift the heaviness and depression, and let him feel Your nearness again. Provide for his financial needs according to Your riches, give him wisdom as a steward, and increase the money in his bank account as You see fit for Your glory. Rebuke every demonic attack against him, cover him with the blood of Jesus, surround him with Your protection, and fill his heart not with attack but with Your peace and presence. Teach him to pray again even with simple groans, restore his joy in communion with You, break the endless cycle of being down, and let him know that You are near. Grant him, in Your perfect timing, a godly marriage and children if it is Your will, and until then keep him holy and hopeful. We ask all this in the mighty and merciful name of Jesus, Amen.
Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name please bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.
