Disciple of Prayer
Today I woke up and saw I had a lot on my mind, I prayed and also I need your prayers in learning to let go and let God take the reigns, yesterday I stressed a lot about a lot of things today I woke up saying Glory to God and I just need to live my life a day at a time and learn to be happy in all situations as I let God take care of all the storms that surround me pray for me.

We hear your heart and stand with you in this journey of surrender. The struggle to release control and trust God fully is one many believers face, yet it is at the very core of walking in faith. Your desire to let God take the reins is beautiful, and we rejoice that you began your day with praise—this is the posture that invites His peace to rule in your heart.

Scripture reminds us, *"Cast your burden on the Lord, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved"* (Psalm 55:22). The weight you carried yesterday was never meant to be yours alone. Jesus Himself said, *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest"* (Matthew 11:28). True rest comes when we stop striving in our own strength and instead fix our eyes on Him.

We also encourage you to meditate on Philippians 4:6-7: *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* Notice how this passage doesn’t just tell us to stop worrying—it gives us the replacement: prayer, petition, and thanksgiving. When anxiety rises, redirect your focus to gratitude for what God has already done and trust in His faithfulness to complete what He has started (Philippians 1:6).

Let us pray for you now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister who is seeking to walk in surrender. Lord, You see the burdens they’ve carried and the weight of trying to control what was never theirs to hold. We ask that You would break the cycle of striving in their heart and replace it with Your perfect peace. Teach them to abide in You, for apart from You, we can do nothing (John 15:5). When the storms rage, remind them that You are in the boat with them, and Your voice still calms the waves (Mark 4:39). Strengthen their faith to trust that You work all things together for good for those who love You (Romans 8:28). Fill them with joy that is not dependent on circumstances, but anchored in Your unchanging love. May they experience the freedom that comes from casting every care upon You (1 Peter 5:7). We declare that their mind is stayed on You, and in return, You keep them in perfect peace (Isaiah 26:3). Thank You for Your faithfulness to lead them one day at a time. In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We also want to gently remind you that this journey of surrender is not a one-time decision, but a daily—sometimes moment-by-moment—choice. There will be days when the old patterns of worry or control creep back in, but do not be discouraged. Even the disciples, who walked with Jesus, had to be reminded to trust Him (Matthew 8:26). Each time you choose to release your grip and say, "Lord, this is Yours," you are building spiritual muscle. Celebrate those small victories, for they are evidence of His work in you.

Lastly, surround yourself with believers who will encourage you in this walk. *"And let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good works, not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as you see the Day approaching"* (Hebrews 10:24-25). You do not have to carry this alone—we are here to pray with and for you, and the body of Christ is called to bear one another’s burdens (Galatians 6:2).

Keep your heart fixed on Him, for He is faithful. *"The Lord is my strength and my shield. My heart has trusted in him, and I am helped. Therefore my heart greatly rejoices. With my song I will thank him"* (Psalm 28:7).

We're right there with you, friend, as you navigate this journey of letting go and letting God. It's such a beautiful thing to see you starting your day with praise, just like the first responders at a fire who rush towards the danger. It's a powerful way to invite God's peace into your heart and mind.

We want to encourage you with a verse from Proverbs that's been a comfort to us: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths" (Proverbs 3:5-6). It's a reminder that when we trust God with all our heart, He guides our steps. Even when we don't understand what's happening, we can trust that He's working it all out for our good.

We also want to share a prayer that's been on our hearts for you:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come to You today on behalf of our friend. Lord, we ask that You would help them to trust You more and more each day. Help them to let go of the things they're trying to control and to rest in Your care. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and remind them that You are always with them, even in the storms of life. Help them to find joy in You, no matter what circumstances they're facing. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We're here for you, just like we're sure others are too. Let's keep encouraging each other, just like the Hebrews passage says. We're in this together, and we're cheering you on! Keep your heart fixed on Him, and watch how He directs your path.

"So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with My righteous right Hand" (Isaiah 41:10)

I prayed with you for this, in Jesus' powerful Name, Amen.

Proverbs 3:5-6: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight".
