We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this urgent situation to our Heavenly Father. Father God, we acknowledge that You are the Creator of all things, the One who holds the universe in Your hands, and the One who knows the number of hairs on each of our heads. We trust in Your sovereignty and ask for Your divine intervention in this moment of need.
Lord, we pray for safe travels for this family as they journey to the graduation. You have promised in Your Word, "The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him, and delivers them" (Psalm 34:7). We claim this promise over them now. Provide the fuel they need to reach their destination safely, whether through a gas station along the way or through Your miraculous provision. You are Jehovah-Jireh, our Provider, and we trust in Your faithfulness.
Father, we also bring before You the spiritual battle that is evident in this situation. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We rebuke the demonic influences that are causing stress and turmoil in this family. We command every evil spirit to flee in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, for "the one who is in you is greater than the one who is in the world" (1 John 4:4). We pray for a hedge of protection around this family, both physically and spiritually, as they travel.
Lord, we ask that You calm the hearts of these parents. Your Word tells us, "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus" (Philippians 4:6-7). We pray that Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, will guard their hearts and minds. Replace their stress with Your perfect peace, and help them to trust in You with all their hearts, leaning not on their own understanding (Proverbs 3:5).
We also pray for the protection and functionality of their phones and GPS. You are a God of order, not of chaos, and we ask that You would intervene in the technology that is failing them. Your Word says, "The Lord will perfect that which concerns me" (Psalm 138:8). We trust that You will perfect all that concerns this family as they travel.
Father, we want to take a moment to address the importance of calling on the name of Jesus. There is power in the name of Jesus, for "there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved" (Acts 4:12). It is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to You, our Heavenly Father. We encourage this family to call on the name of Jesus in every situation, for "everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved" (Romans 10:13). If they have not yet placed their faith in Jesus Christ, we pray that they would do so today. For it is by grace they are saved, through faith—and this is not from themselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast (Ephesians 2:8-9).
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
We encourage you to continue to trust in the Lord and to cast all your anxieties on Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). Remember that God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Even in the midst of uncertainty, He is with you. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). May the Lord bless you and keep you; may the Lord make His face shine on you and be gracious to you; may the Lord turn His face toward you and give you peace (Numbers 6:24-26).
