Thank you for sharing this request and for caring for the members of this garden club. It is a beautiful thing to see people who love gardens and who have shared that love together for many years.
Scripture reminds us that God Himself planted a garden in Eden and placed the man He had formed there. He filled it with trees that were beautiful to see and good for food, a place of abundance and delight, and He gave it to Adam to enjoy with only one restriction. From the beginning the garden was more than a place of beauty. It was a place of fellowship. God created people for fellowship with Himself, a deep sharing of heart and life, a true oneness and communion with Him.
That fellowship was broken when Adam and Eve disobeyed God. Sin always separates, and after they sinned they hid and fellowship was lost. The prophet Isaiah tells us that it is our sin that separates us from God, and the apostle John tells us that we cannot say we have fellowship with God while we are walking in darkness. To walk together we must be in agreement. God still longs for fellowship with you and seeks to draw you to Himself, but sin must first be dealt with. That is why He has made a way back through Jesus Christ. Through His blood our sin is cleansed and atonement is made, so that we can walk in the light as He is in the light and have real fellowship with the Father and with His Son.
When we live in that fellowship, Scripture says our joy is made full. It is not a fleeting happiness that changes with circumstances, but a constant joy that comes from knowing we belong to God and are restored to the purpose for which we were made.
My prayer for each member of this garden club is that as they tend and enjoy the beauty of creation, they will be reminded of the Creator who planted the first garden and who desires to know them personally. I pray that each one will know the forgiveness and cleansing that comes through faith in Jesus Christ, and will experience the fullness of joy that comes from walking in fellowship with Him. I pray also that their friendship with one another will be strengthened, and that their shared love for gardens will bear pleasant fruit in kindness, encouragement and thanksgiving to God. May the Lord bless them, draw them closer to Himself, and let their lives reflect His beauty as a garden that is open to Him.
Father, I lift up every member of this garden club to You. Thank You for the gift of creation and for the beauty You have placed in this world for us to enjoy. Work in each heart to bring forgiveness, life and fellowship with You through Jesus. Fill them with Your joy and peace, and help them to know how much You love them and long to walk with them. In Jesus name, Amen.
