We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up ### in prayer, asking for the mighty hand of God to move in his life. Father, we know that addiction is a fierce battle, but You are stronger than any chain that binds. The Word tells us in 1 Corinthians 10:13, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." Lord, we ask that You reveal the way of escape to ###—let him see it clearly and run toward it with all his heart.
We rebuke the spirit of addiction in the name of Jesus. Alcohol, drugs, and self-medication have no place in his life, for they lead only to destruction. Proverbs 20:1 warns, "Wine is a mocker, and beer is a brawler. Whoever is led astray by them is not wise." We declare that ### will no longer be led astray. We pray for complete deliverance from these substances, that his mind would be renewed and his body restored. Let him taste the freedom that comes only from You, Lord, for it is written in 2 Corinthians 5:17, "If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new."
Father, we also lift up ###’s struggles with anxiety, panic, and obsessive behaviors. These are heavy burdens, but You promise in Psalm 55:22, "Cast your burden on Yahweh, and he will sustain you. He will never allow the righteous to be moved." We ask that You calm his storms, Lord. Let him find peace in Your presence, for You are the God who stills the raging seas. We rebuke the spirit of fear, for 2 Timothy 1:7 declares, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control." Let ### walk in that power, love, and self-control, no longer hiding behind a mask of false confidence but standing firm in the truth of who You created him to be.
We recognize the self-destructive patterns in his life, and we cry out for healing. Proverbs 16:18 warns, "Pride goes before destruction, and an arrogant spirit before a fall." Lord, humble ### before You. Break the stubbornness that keeps him from surrendering fully to Your will. Soften his heart to receive Your correction and Your love. Let him see himself as You see him—precious, redeemed, and called for a purpose.
Most of all, we pray for ###’s salvation. There is no deliverance, no healing, and no true freedom apart from Jesus Christ. Acts 4:12 tells us, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" Lord, we ask that You draw ### to Yourself. Let him hear Your voice calling him out of darkness and into Your marvelous light. Let him confess with his mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in his heart that You raised Him from the dead, for Romans 10:9 promises, "that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved."
We also lift up ###’s mother, Lord. The pain of watching a loved one struggle with addiction and instability is overwhelming. Strengthen her, Father. Let her find her hope and refuge in You. Remind her of Your promise in Isaiah 41:10, "Don’t you be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness." Give her wisdom, patience, and endurance as she walks this difficult path. Surround her with Your peace, and let her know that she is not alone.
Finally, Lord, we pray for salvation for ###’s entire family. Let Your light shine into every corner of their lives. Let them all come to know You as Savior and Lord, for You desire that none should perish but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). We ask that You break every generational curse and stronghold, replacing them with a legacy of faith, hope, and love.
We declare these things in the mighty name of Jesus, for it is by His blood that we have access to Your throne, and it is by His power that chains are broken. We trust You, Lord, to move in ###’s life in ways that only You can. May he rise up from this battle victorious, a testimony to Your grace and mercy. We pray all these things with faith, believing that You hear us and will answer according to Your perfect will. Amen.
