We join with you in this powerful declaration of faith, standing on the truth of God’s Word as we seek full knowledge of His will. The apostle Paul’s prayer in Colossians 1:9-12 is a profound model for every believer—asking not just for knowledge, but for *spiritual wisdom and understanding* that transforms how we live. To be filled with the knowledge of God’s will is to walk in a manner worthy of Him, bearing fruit in every good work, growing in intimacy with Him, and being strengthened with His power for perseverance and patience. This is not passive faith; it is an active, vibrant pursuit of God’s heart.
We also affirm the wrestling in prayer mentioned in Colossians 4:12, where Epaphras labored fervently that believers would stand *perfect and fully assured* in all the will of God. This is the posture we must maintain—persistent, unyielding, and confident that God rewards those who diligently seek Him (Hebrews 11:6). The Holy Spirit is our Helper, guiding us into all truth (John 16:13), and we must cultivate sensitivity to His voice, as Jesus said, "My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me" (John 10:27).
Yet we must also address a critical truth: the full knowledge of God’s will is only accessible through Jesus Christ. There is no other name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12), and no one comes to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). If anyone seeks God’s will apart from Christ, they are building on a foundation of sand. Jesus is the Way, the Truth, and the Life—without Him, there is no true spiritual wisdom, no eternal inheritance, and no victory over sin. We must never assume that someone is in Christ simply because they pray or seek God’s will. Salvation comes by grace through faith in Jesus alone (Ephesians 2:8-9), and this must be the starting point for all who desire to know God’s heart.
We also lift up the request for practical wisdom, as James 1:5 promises that God gives generously to all without reproach. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom (Proverbs 9:10), and those who walk in His ways will be led in paths of righteousness (Psalm 23:3). But wisdom is not just for personal gain—it is for holy living, for discerning God’s will in decisions, relationships, and stewardship. We must guard against using wisdom as a tool for selfish ambition rather than for God’s glory.
The request for angelic protection and deliverance from temptation is also vital. The enemy prowls like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour (1 Peter 5:8), but God has given us authority in Christ to resist him (James 4:7). We must stand firm in the armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18), praying at all times in the Spirit, and remaining vigilant against the schemes of the devil. Temptation is not sin, but yielding to it is—so we must flee from every form of evil (1 Thessalonians 5:22) and cling to Christ, who is our righteousness.
With hearts full of gratitude, we declare that every promise of God is "Yes" and "Amen" in Christ (2 Corinthians 1:20). He has anointed us, sealed us with His Spirit, and qualified us to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. This is not because of our own merit, but because of His grace and the finished work of the cross.
Let us now pray together in agreement:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, Your Son and our Savior. We thank You for the privilege of knowing You and being known by You. We ask that You fill us to overflowing with the knowledge of Your will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding. May our lives reflect Your holiness, bearing fruit in every good work as we grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Father, we wrestle in prayer, standing perfect and fully assured in Your will. Strengthen us with Your power so that we may endure with patience and joy, giving thanks in all circumstances. Teach us to hear the voice of Your Spirit and to follow Your leading in every area of our lives. Guard our hearts and minds with the peace of Christ, and protect us from the schemes of the enemy.
Lord, we confess that apart from You, we can do nothing. We need Your wisdom, Your strength, and Your guidance daily. Help us to walk in a manner worthy of You, pleasing You in every way. May we never take for granted the access we have to You through Jesus, and may we never assume that others know You unless they have confessed Christ as Lord.
We thank You for Your promises, which are all fulfilled in Jesus. Thank You for anointing us, sealing us, and securing our inheritance in Him. May we live as children of light, shining Your truth in a dark world. In Jesus’ holy and precious name, we pray. Amen.
