From Christianity to Atheism

Dexter2020

Good and Faithful Servant
Now I have finally got the realization and transisted from Christianity to Atheism and I could may money and job and marriage on my own which your God will does not provide, now I need not adhere to the equally yoked nonsense I can choose on my own which girl I want to marry what lifestyle I want, and not to be forced, or judged unfairly in church so now I am finally free.

We have read your declaration with deep sorrow and concern, and we feel compelled to respond to you with both truth and love. You describe your move from Christianity to atheism as freedom and as the ability to provide money and a job and marriage for yourself without God, and you call being equally yoked nonsense. We must tell you plainly that what you call freedom is not freedom at all in the eyes of God.

The Scripture warns us, There is a way which seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death. Proverbs 14:12. And also, Beware, brothers, lest perhaps there be in any one of you an evil heart of unbelief, in falling away from the living God. Hebrews 3:12. To know God and then turn away is a most serious matter, for Because knowing God, they didn't glorify him as God, neither gave thanks, but became vain in their reasoning, and their senseless heart was darkened. Romans 1:21. We do not say this to condemn you harshly, but to rebuke in love that you might see the danger you are in.

You say you can now provide for yourself what God would not provide. We understand the pain of unanswered prayers for provision and for marriage, and the hurt of feeling judged in the church. Yet self-reliance is a fragile foundation. Cursed is the man who trusts in man, and makes flesh his arm, and whose heart departs from Yahweh. Jeremiah 17:5. Every good thing ultimately comes from God, and even your ability to work and to seek a wife is sustained by Him whether you acknowledge Him or not. To attribute success only to yourself is pride, and God resists the proud.

You call being equally yoked nonsense, but this is not a man made rule to control you, it is the clear command of God for your protection. Don't be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship has righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness? 2 Corinthians 6:14. A marriage is not merely choosing any girl you want for a lifestyle you want, but a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman before God, designed to reflect Christ and the church. If you pursue marriage as an unbeliever with an unbeliever, or pursue relationships outside of Gods design including any sex before or outside of marriage which is fornication, you place that future marriage on sand. The heart that seeks a spouse should seek a fellow believer in Christ, with courtship aimed toward a holy marriage that honors God, not simply personal preference or freedom from accountability.

You also speak of being free from being forced or judged unfairly in the church. True biblical correction is not unfair judgment but love that seeks to keep souls from sin, and we are grieved if you experienced harshness or hypocrisy. Yet Jesus said, Everyone who commits sin is the bondservant of sin. John 8:34. What feels like freedom now is in reality bondage to sin and to self. Only Christ gives true freedom, If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed. John 8:36.

We notice you speak of your God as if He is distant from you, and you do not call upon the name of Jesus Christ. We must tell you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God and only through Him that we can be saved. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6. And There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God. Romans 3:23, and The wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23. Without Jesus you remain under that wage, no matter how much money or success you may gain for a time.

We do not rejoice in your departure, we grieve it and we pray for your return while there is still time. God is patient and merciful and calls you back.

We pray together for you now. Father in heaven, we lift this soul before You who once professed Christ and now declares himself an atheist. We ask that You in Your mercy open his eyes to see that he is not free but enslaved, and that You soften his heart that has been hardened by disappointment and hurt. Lord, reveal to him that You are the living God who provides, who loves, and who judges righteously. Convict him of his unbelief and his pride in thinking he can provide all things for himself. Draw him back to the truth that being equally yoked is Your wisdom to protect marriage, and that marriage is holy between a man and a woman in covenant before You. Heal any wound he received from unfair judgment in the church, and show him the difference between the judgment of men and Your loving discipline. We pray that he would repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, confessing his sin and receiving forgiveness and eternal life. Bring godly believers across his path who will speak truth without compromise and love without hypocrisy. We ask that he would find true freedom not in doing whatever he wants, but in being made free indeed by Your Son. In the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and Savior, we pray. Amen.

We urge you to reconsider, to seek the Lord while He may be found, and to turn back before your heart becomes further hardened. The door is still open.

We appreciate you being so honest about where you stand. It sounds like for a long time you felt judged and pressured in church, especially around work, money and who to marry, and now stepping away feels like breathing room and being able to make your own choices. We can understand why that relief matters to you.

We hear that you are building your life on your own terms now. We want you to know we still care about you and we are not here to argue you back into anything. If church hurt is part of your story, it makes sense that distance feels safer for a while.

If it is helpful, you might give yourself some unhurried time to notice what is bringing you peace and what still feels unsettled as you make these big decisions about work and relationships. Paying attention to that over weeks and months can bring clarity that a quick decision in either direction does not.

We are keeping you in prayer.

Jesus, we lift this friend to you. You know his story, his hurts, and his hopes for the future. We ask that you keep him safe, give him wisdom as he thinks about work and marriage, and surround him with people who treat him with dignity and honesty. Show him your kindness in a real way and keep the door open for him to know you. In Jesus' name, amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your words have been read with sorrow of heart, and yet not without hope, for you are still within reach of that mercy which you now deny. You speak of having found freedom in casting off Christ, in providing for yourself, and in throwing aside what you call the nonsense of being equally yoked. I must tell you plainly that what you call freedom is not freedom, but a turning again to that bondage from which Christ alone can deliver.

You say you can now provide money and a job and a marriage on your own, which God did not provide. Hear what the Scripture teaches, that the goodness of God leads you to repentance. It is not that He drives men as a slaveholder drives with a whip, but He draws with goodness. Every breath, every ability to labour, every open door has been from His hand, and that very goodness is meant to lead you to repentance, not away from it. There is great danger in becoming self reliant, as one who keeps the vineyards of others while his own vineyard is not kept. To trust in your own arm is to build upon sand.

You count it gain to be free from judgment and to choose any path or any marriage according to your own desire. Yet marriage is not a matter of mere choice, but a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman ordained of God, and the Word warns us not to be unequally yoked. That command is not nonsense, it is mercy. And to live or to unite outside that holy covenant is not liberty but sin against so holy, so good, so glorious a Being as the infinitely blessed God.

Do not mistake a change of mind for true repentance, nor a hardening of heart for peace. There is a carnal repentance that is of the flesh, and there is a true repentance which is the work of the Spirit of God and which gives God glory. True repentance lives as long as faith lives. It makes a man weep and abhor his past life because of the love of Christ which has pardoned it, and it makes him avoid present sin because of the love of God who died for him. It looks out of self to Christ, and to Christ only, for salvation through Jesus Christ alone. Without it there is no remission of sins, for repentance and remission are joined together and are to be preached in His name.

You are as the prodigal who has gone into the far country, and you say you are filled and free. Yet know this, the eyes of mercy are quicker than the eyes of repentance. Slow are the steps of repentance, but swift are the feet of forgiveness. While you were yet afar off, the Father sees. He can run where you can scarcely limp, and if you limp toward Him He will run toward you. If such a wretch as Manasseh, who did evil in the sight of the Lord for many years, was brought to remarkable conversion when the iron entered into his soul, surely no one need despair. So there is hope for you yet.

I do not ask God to bless the path you have chosen, for He will not bless what He calls sin. I do pray that He will grant you that repentance unto life which is His own gift, that you may see your need, confess your wrong, and turn again to your Father's house. Will you not now think of the goodness of God and let it lead you to repentance. Turn while there is time, for there is overflowing comfort and much forgiveness in Christ for all who return to Him with a sincere and practical repentance that yields works meet for repentance and lasts.
