Beloved of All
Few nights ago I have a dream of going to a like scary haunted house kind of thing I most probably went with ### then suddenly she got jumpscared and had a seizure smt like that and I cried and prayed for Jesus to heal her and He did and she was healed from the seizure thing but that was a dream but suddenly my mom said we r going to a haunted house and she bought tickets im rly scared my grandma isnt going but im scared is my mom i alr prayed to Jesus I feel ok like im not that worried abt it but i feel like i need to be worried abt it i think this is the peace of the Lord but yk i have doubts so I need prayer that nothing happens

We have read your request and we understand how unsettling this has been for you, having such a frightening dream and then hearing that your mom has bought tickets to go to a haunted house. We thank you for turning to Jesus in prayer, both in your dream and after you woke up, and we want to join with you in prayer now.

We see in your dream that even when fear and panic came, you cried out to Jesus to heal your friend and He brought healing. That shows a heart that already knows where true help comes from. We also hear that you are feeling a strange mixture of fear and peace, and that you are wondering if you should be more worried. What you are describing sounds very much like the peace God promises to His children. In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6-7 That peace does not mean nothing will ever feel scary, it means God is guarding your heart even when things around you feel uncertain. Do not doubt that peace or feel you must manufacture worry to be safe. For God didn't give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control. 2 Timothy 1:7

We also want to gently encourage you to think biblically about haunted houses. Many of these attractions are designed to glorify fear, darkness, and things that are meant to disturb the spirit. Scripture tells us Have no fellowship with the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but rather even reprove them. Ephesians 5:11 and Finally, brothers, whatever things are true, whatever things are honorable, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report; if there is any virtue, and if there is any praise, think about these things. Philippians 4:8 We would encourage you to talk honestly and respectfully with your mom about why you feel uneasy, honoring her as your mother while also sharing your desire to guard your heart and mind. Pray and ask the Lord for wisdom about whether to go, and if you do go, to keep your heart focused on Him and not on seeking out fear for entertainment. Remember that greater is he who is in you than he who is in them. 1 John 4:4 and He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of Yahweh, He is my refuge and my fortress; my God, in whom I trust. Psalm 91:1-2 You do not need to carry fear that something bad must happen, for the Lord is your refuge and He is with you wherever you are. Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. Isaiah 41:10

We now pray together for you and your family.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, Your Son, and we thank You that we can come boldly to Your throne of grace through Him. We lift up this dear one to You and we thank You for the faith You have already placed in their heart to call upon Jesus. Lord, we ask You to wash away all fear and doubt and to fill them with Your perfect peace that surpasses all understanding. Guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus. We pray for Your protection over them, over their mom, and over their grandma, whether at home or if they go to this haunted house. Keep them safe from all harm, spiritually and physically. Give them wisdom and courage to speak with their mom in love and respect, and give their mom ears to hear and understanding. Help them to discern what is pleasing to You and to choose what is pure and lovely and of good report. We rebuke the spirit of fear in Jesus name and we declare that You are greater and that You are their fortress and refuge. Let no weapon formed against them prosper and let Your angels encamp around them. Help them to rest in the assurance that You are with them and that nothing can separate them from Your love. We ask all of this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, amen.

We encourage you to keep praying, to read Scripture when you feel afraid, and to remember that the Lord hears you. If fear rises up again, speak the name of Jesus out loud and thank Him for His peace and protection. He is faithful and He will keep you in His care.

We hear how jarring this has been for you, having that vivid, scary dream and then hearing your mom actually bought tickets to a haunted house. Of course that would feel unsettling, and it makes sense you would wonder what it means.

Dreams can feel very real and leave us shaken even after we wake up, but a frightening dream is usually our mind processing fear and not a picture of what will happen. The fact that you prayed and sensed some peace, even with lingering doubts, is understandable. Feeling both calm and worried at the same time is common when something has startled us.

We are praying with you for protection and for clear peace as you decide what to do next. One thing that may help is talking openly with your mom while you are feeling relatively calm. You could tell her simply what you dreamed, how it made you feel, and that the idea of going feels scary right now. Ask what the event will actually be like, whether you have the option to not go or to step out if you feel overwhelmed, and whether your grandma or another trusted adult can be part of the plan. Bringing it into the light with her can make it less heavy to carry alone.

Father, we bring this young heart to You and ask for Your nearness and care over them and their family. Quiet their fear, give them wisdom and words with their mom, and let them rest in knowing You are with them wherever they go. Guide their steps and keep them safe. In Jesus' name, amen.

I have read your account with prayerful care and I bring your burden before the Lord with you. You have been troubled by a frightening dream, and now a real invitation to enter a haunted house has stirred fresh fear in your heart. You prayed to Jesus in the dream and saw His power to heal, and you have prayed again in your waking hours and have felt something of His peace, yet doubts remain and you wonder whether you ought to be more afraid. This conflict between fear and peace is well known to the children of God.

Remember what the Lord has declared concerning His own, that His thoughts toward you are thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you an expected end. His thoughts toward His people are always thoughts of peace, for He is at peace with them through the atoning blood of Jesus Christ. He seeks your peace, He creates your peace, He sustains your peace. Though you cannot perfectly know all His purposes, you may be sure that He designs your highest good and is refining you in love. So let your own thoughts be thoughts of peace all the day as you rest in His.

That peace is beautifully described by the prophet, You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. This is not a peace that depends upon quiet surroundings, for strife may rage all around, but it is a great restfulness of heart and mind given to those who love God's law and keep their minds stayed upon Christ. The blood of Jesus whispers peace within, and that whisper can be heard even when duties press or sorrows surge around. When your mind is stayed on Him, He will keep you in peace, peace.

Therefore hear the word which the Lord so often repeats to His fearful ones, Fear not. Fear not, for I will help you. Fear not, for I am with you. It is Jesus Himself who whispers to His poor servant, Fear not. To be afraid when He has promised His presence is to dishonor Him whose arm piled the heavens and sustains all things. Fear is weakening and it dishonors God, but trust in promised strength casts it out. You need not manufacture worry to prove that you are watchful. If the Lord has given you a measure of calm after prayer, receive it as His gift and let acquiescence to His will suck the sorrow out of the sorrow.

I pray for you now that the Lord will keep you in perfect peace as you keep your mind stayed upon Him. May He quiet your conscience with the assurance of His pardoning love through Christ, guard your heart from needless terror, and give you wisdom as you speak with your mother about this haunted house. May He teach you to fear Him who alone is to be feared, and to find rest in doing His will. May His Spirit make you feel that His thoughts toward you are peace, and may you know that whether loved ones are near or far, in Jesus keeping we are safe.

Cast all your anxiety upon Him, continue in prayer, and rest in the promise that He who has helped you in the dream is the same yesterday, today and forever, and He will not leave you nor forsake you.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Thank you for sharing this so honestly. It makes sense that you would feel shaken after such a frightening dream, especially one where someone you care about was in distress and you cried out to Jesus for help, and then to hear that your mom has bought tickets to a haunted house. It is good that you have already prayed and that you are looking to Jesus.

Dreams can feel very real and can stir up a lot of anxiety, but a dream is not a promise of what will happen. What your dream did show is something true and beautiful, that when you cried out to Jesus, He heard you and brought healing. Hold onto that truth more than the fear in the dream.

You described feeling a sense of peace but also feeling like you should be worried, and wondering if that peace is from the Lord while still having doubts. That experience is common. The peace God gives does not always mean the situation around us has changed. It means He is guarding our hearts as we trust Him. The Bible says to bring everything to God in prayer, and His peace will guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Anxiety tries to scourge and wear down the soul with constant fear, but Christ came to free us from that kind of slavery to fear and to bring us into security and rest. He teaches us not to fear those things that can only frighten the body or the imagination, but to rest in reverent trust in Him who holds both body and soul in His hands.

It is wise to be discerning about places like haunted houses. They are designed to create fear and to make darkness feel like entertainment. As followers of Jesus we do not need to seek out fear, because we walk in His light and He has overcome all darkness. If you feel troubled in your conscience about going, it is good to talk calmly and respectfully with your mom about how you feel, share why you are scared, and ask if you might be excused. Whether you go or not, remember that you belong to Christ and no place or imagined horror is stronger than He is.

I will pray for you now.

Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ I thank You that You hear us when we cry out to You. I ask You to cover this dear one with Your peace that passes understanding. Quiet every anxious thought and drive away fear, and help any doubt to be replaced with trust in Your goodness and power. Protect her and her family and keep them safe from harm. Give her wisdom and grace as she talks with her mom, and give her mom understanding. Let her know deeply that You are with her wherever she goes, that You are her light and her salvation, and that she does not need to live in fear. Help her to rest in Your love and to grow in confidence that Jesus is Lord over all. Amen.

Keep praying, keep reading Scripture, and keep bringing every worry to Jesus. If fear rises again, speak His name and remember that He is near. You are not alone in this.
