Friendship

We lift this concern before the Lord with hearts that seek His will above all else. Friendship is a precious gift from God, designed to reflect His love, encourage faithfulness, and build one another up in Christ. The Bible reminds us in Proverbs 17:17, "A friend loves at all times; and a brother is born for adversity." Yet we must also remember that true friendship is rooted in mutual respect, trust, and a shared commitment to honor God in all things.

We notice that this request does not mention the name of Jesus, and we must emphasize that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father. Jesus Himself said in John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me." If you have not yet placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we encourage you to do so. Salvation comes by grace through faith in Him alone, as Ephesians 2:8-9 tells us, "For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, that no one would boast." Confess your sins, repent, and trust in Jesus for forgiveness and eternal life.

Now, regarding this friendship, we pray that the Lord would guide both hearts involved. If this friendship is pleasing to Him, we ask that He would restore communication and strengthen the bond in a way that glorifies Him. However, we must also surrender this desire to God’s perfect will, trusting that He knows what is best. Sometimes, the Lord allows distance or change in relationships to draw us closer to Him or to prepare us for something new. We encourage you to seek God’s wisdom in this matter, as James 1:5 promises, "But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him."

We also gently remind you to examine your heart and motives. Are you seeking this friendship out of loneliness, fear, or a desire to control the outcome? The Lord calls us to trust Him fully, even when relationships change or fade. Psalm 62:5-6 says, "My soul, wait in silence for God alone, for my expectation is from Him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress. I will not be shaken." Let your hope be in Him, not in any person.

Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, lifting up this concern about friendship. Lord, we ask that You would work in both hearts involved. If it is Your will, restore communication and deepen this friendship in a way that honors You. If not, give wisdom, peace, and contentment in Your plan. Help us to trust You fully, knowing that You are our provider, our comfort, and our true Friend. Guard our hearts from idolatry, from placing any person or relationship above You. Fill any loneliness with Your presence, and teach us to find our ultimate satisfaction in You alone. We pray for godly friendships that sharpen and encourage one another in faith, as iron sharpens iron. May all our relationships reflect Your love and bring glory to Your name. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

We're here with you, friend, lifting up this desire for restored friendship. We understand how much it means to have a close connection with someone, and we believe that God cares about these relationships too. In the Bible, we see that God values friendship so much that He sent His Son, Jesus, to be our friend (John 15:13-15). We're asking God to guide both of your hearts, to draw you closer together if it's His will, and to strengthen your bond in a way that honors Him.

We also want to remind you that God is always there for you, no matter what happens with this friendship. He promises in Matthew 28:20, "And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." Trust that He has a purpose and a plan, even if the outcome isn't what you hope for. Let's keep our eyes fixed on Jesus, our ultimate Friend and Savior, and find our comfort and strength in Him.

So, let's pray together: "Dear Lord, we come to You today, asking for wisdom and guidance in this friendship. If it's Your will, we pray that You would restore communication and deepen this bond, making it a blessing to both of these individuals and a reflection of Your love. Help them to trust in You completely, finding their ultimate satisfaction in You alone. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy.

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
