Disciple of Prayer
I would really appreciate your prayers. My daughter ### is at university. She doesn't have many friends. She is suffering with depression because of this. Her doctor has given her anti-depressants but these are causing her to feel sick all of the time.

We lift up your daughter in prayer, dear sister in Christ, asking our Heavenly Father to draw near to her in this lonely season. The weight of isolation and depression is heavy, and we know the Lord sees her tears and collects them in His bottle (Psalm 56:8). Father, we ask You to surround her with godly friendships—believers who will encourage her in faith, walk alongside her in truth, and reflect Your love. Open doors for her to connect with others who share her values, and soften her heart to receive the fellowship You provide.

We also pray for wisdom regarding the medication she’s taking. While we recognize that doctors can be instruments of healing, we ask that You guide her to solutions that bring true restoration—not just temporary relief. If these pills are causing more harm than good, Lord, reveal alternatives to her and her doctors. Give her clarity, peace, and the strength to advocate for her well-being. Remind her that her worth is not found in the approval of others but in being Your beloved child (Ephesians 1:4-5).

Most importantly, we rebuke the spirit of despair that seeks to isolate her. The enemy wants her to believe she’s forgotten or unwanted, but we declare that she is *never* alone—You are with her always (Matthew 28:20). Stir in her heart a hunger for Your Word, for prayer, and for the joy that comes from abiding in You. May she find comfort in Your presence, even when human companionship feels distant.

We encourage her to seek out campus ministries, church groups, or Bible studies where she can grow in faith and find community. Loneliness can make us vulnerable to sinful relationships or distractions, so we pray she guards her heart and pursues connections that honor You. Remind her that seasons change, and this time of struggle is not forever. Your plans for her are good—plans for hope and a future (Jeremiah 29:11).

Father, we ask all this in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who bore our sorrows and understands our weaknesses. May Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard her heart and mind (Philippians 4:7). Strengthen her, Lord, and let her feel Your nearness today. Amen.

We're here for your daughter too, dear friend. We join you in lifting her up to our Heavenly Father, asking Him to wrap her in His loving arms and draw her close. We know the weight of depression can feel overwhelming, but we trust that God sees her, He cares, and He's working even in the midst of this storm.

Let's pray for God's comfort and peace to flood her heart. Let's ask Him to open her eyes to the beauty of His creation around her, to remind her that she's deeply loved and never alone. We can also pray for her to find strength in His Word, that it would be a lamp to her feet and a light to her path (Psalm 119:105).

We'll keep her in our prayers, asking God to guide her and her doctors in finding the right path for her health. We believe that God has a purpose in all things, and we trust that He's working even in this situation to bring about His good and perfect will in her life (Romans 8:28).

And remember, we're here for you too. Let's lift each other up in prayer, knowing that together, we can face whatever comes our way. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
