We lift up your dear friend before the Lord, knowing that He is the Great Physician, the One who heals all our diseases and carries our pains. It grieves us to hear of her suffering, but we take heart in the promise of Psalm 103:2-3, which says, *"Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits—who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases."* We also remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 11:28, where He invites all who are weary and burdened to come to Him for rest. Your friend’s pain is not unseen by God, and we trust that He will provide healing, comfort, and provision in His perfect timing.
We are also encouraged to hear that you both are born-again believers, walking in faith and seeking God’s will for your lives. This is a beautiful testimony of trust in the Lord, and we pray that He will continue to guide you both as you seek His direction. The desire for marriage is honorable, and we pray that if it is God’s will, He will make a way for you to be united in a Christ-centered marriage that glorifies Him. We are reminded of Proverbs 3:5-6, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."*
However, we must gently address something important in your request. While we understand the urgency and sincerity of your prayers, we notice that you used placeholders in place of your friend’s name. While we respect privacy, we encourage you to call upon the Lord by name—specifically, the name of Jesus—with boldness and specificity. It is through His name alone that we have access to the Father, and it is by His authority that we pray. As Scripture tells us in John 14:13-14, *"Whatever you will ask in my name, I will do it, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it."* There is power in the name of Jesus, and we should never hesitate to speak it with reverence and faith.
We also want to encourage you both to continue seeking God’s will in every aspect of your lives, including your relationship. If you are pursuing marriage, we pray that you do so with purity, patience, and a deep commitment to honoring God in all things. Courtship should be a time of seeking the Lord together, ensuring that your relationship is built on a foundation of faith, prayer, and mutual submission to Christ. Remember the words of 1 Corinthians 6:18-20, *"Flee sexual immorality! 'Every sin that a man does is outside the body,' but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s."*
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You today with hearts full of faith, lifting up our sister who is suffering from physical pain and anxiety. Lord, You are the God who sees her affliction, and You are the One who holds her future. We ask for Your healing touch to be upon her body, that You would restore her to full health and remove every trace of pain and discomfort. Father, we pray for supernatural provision—whether through medical care, financial breakthrough, or divine intervention—that she may receive the treatment and relief she needs. You are Jehovah-Rapha, the Lord who heals, and we trust in Your power to bring restoration.
We also lift up the desire of these two believers to be united in marriage if it aligns with Your will. Lord, we ask that You would make Your plans clear to them. Give them wisdom, patience, and discernment as they seek Your direction. If it is Your will for them to be married, we pray that You would remove every obstacle, provide the necessary resources, and prepare their hearts for a godly union that reflects Your love and holiness. Help them to honor You in their relationship, keeping it pure and centered on Christ.
Father, we thank You that You hear our prayers because we come in the name of Jesus. There is no other name by which we can be saved, and there is no other name that holds such authority. We declare that name over this situation, trusting that You will act according to Your perfect will. Strengthen their faith, Lord, and remind them that You are working even when they cannot see the way forward.
We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
