"My 5-month old son, Jack, was admitted to Children's Hospital on Wednesday and placed into Cardiac Intensive Care. It turns out that he was in heart failure, and that his heart was only functioning at 15-20%. The doctors have him on a blood thinner so that he doesn't throw a clot, on a med to strengthen his heart beat and feeding him via tube down his nose to give him extra calories to get bigger & stronger. To all of those that have sent well wishes and prayers my way with my mom battling stage 4 lung cancer, please also include my son in your thoughts. I somehow need to try to maintain my practice while my wife and son are in Children's Hospital for anywhere from a week to a couple months (per the lead cardiologist). Please help me find that strength and motivation to focus on my patients as Jack's doctors focus on him."
