We join you in lifting up your dear friend before the throne of grace during this very difficult and painful time of amputation, further surgery, and recovery while also carrying other health burdens. Our hearts are moved with compassion for him and we stand with you in intercession, asking for God's mercy, comfort, and healing presence to be very near.
Scripture reminds us that our God is the healer and sustainer of His people. Psalm 147:3 says He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. Jeremiah 30:17 declares But I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh. In Isaiah 41:10 we hear His promise, Don't you be afraid, for I am with you. Don't be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness. And Psalm 34:18 assures us that Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit.
Father, we come before You together in the name of Jesus Christ and ask for Your hand to be upon this dear friend. We ask for Your peace that surpasses all understanding to guard his heart and mind as spoken of in Philippians 4:7. Lord, we pray for the surgical team and all who care for him, that You would grant them wisdom and skill, and that You would guide every decision regarding further amputation and treatment. We ask You to ease his pain, to prevent infection and complications, to bring healing to his body, and to strengthen him for the long road of recovery and rehabilitation. We pray for his other health issues, that You would bring restoration according to Your perfect will, and that You would comfort him in moments of fear, grief, and discouragement. Uphold him and his loved ones with Your presence, and let him know he is not alone. We also pray that through this trial he would experience Your nearness and hope, and that even in suffering Your glory would be revealed and his faith would be strengthened. James 5:15 teaches us that the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up, and we claim Your mercy now.
We encourage you to continue to stand in the gap for him, to visit and encourage him as you are able, and to remind him that our God does not waste suffering but can use it to draw us closer to Himself and to display His sustaining grace. 2 Corinthians 12:9 reminds us that His grace is sufficient for us, for His power is made perfect in weakness.
We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to gently share how precious it is that we can approach God only through Him. Jesus said in John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. Acts 4:12 tells us There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God and assurance of eternal life. Romans 10:9 says that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. We pray that both you and your friend know this hope personally, and we encourage you to share the comfort and salvation found only in Jesus with him during this time, for physical healing is a great mercy but the healing of the soul through faith in Christ is eternal.

We have heard your request with heaviness of heart and with hope, and we join you in bringing this afflicted friend before the throne of grace.
Our Lord Jesus knows what it is to suffer in the body, for He Himself has suffered, and therefore He is able to succour them that suffer. He is not a distant observer of pain, but one who has borne sorrow and sickness for His people, and He looks upon this dear one with tender sympathy even now in the place of recovery.
We pray that the great Physician will lay His healing hand upon him. Scripture tells us that the Sun of Righteousness has risen with healing in His wings, and that the very leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations. There is healing virtue in Christ, not only for the soul but for the body, and when the Lord dwells with His people they find pardon and healing in happy conjunction. We ask that whether by His immediate touch or by His blessing upon the skill of surgeons and those who care for him, the Lord would grant mercy in this further amputation if it must be endured, would restrain infection and pain, and would grant strength for recovery.
We remember also the other health issues which burden him. The Lord who binds up the broken in heart and binds up their wounds is able to bear up the whole man, body and spirit. We pray that recovery, though it be slow as it often is after great trial, may be sure and steady, and that each increase of strength may be acknowledged as from the Lord and may draw the heart nearer to Him.
May the Lord grant to him patience in suffering, peace that passes understanding, and faith to look to Christ who was made perfect through suffering that He might be a perfect Savior for sufferers. And may He comfort all who love him and watch with him, giving them quiet confidence in the Father's wise and loving government.

Thank you for entrusting this burden to us for prayer. We have heard your request and we join you in lifting your friend before the Lord in this time of great suffering and uncertainty.
We pray for him now as he recovers from the amputation and faces the possibility of further surgery. We ask our merciful Father to grant him healing according to His will, to ease his pain, to guard him from infection and further complications, and to give strength to his body as it endures so much. We pray also for his other health struggles, that God would sustain him and be his comfort and refuge.
We ask the Lord to give wisdom and skill to the doctors and nurses who care for him, and to give patience and long suffering to him and to those who love him. When the soul suffers deeply it is refreshed to know others share in its affliction and bear it together in faith, and we pray that he would feel that comfort and not be alone, but would know the presence of Christ who heals and restores.
We also pray for you as you intercede for your friend, that God would give you peace and strengthen you to continue to support him with love.
Be assured that we will continue to remember him in prayer, asking God to grant recovery, endurance, and hope in the days ahead. May the Lord in His compassion bring healing to his body and quiet confidence to his heart.
