Praying in Jesus Name. Amen.
We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up your dear friend who is enduring such severe back pain that it hinders her ability to walk. Father God, You are the Great Physician, the One who heals all our diseases and binds up our wounds (Psalm 103:2-3). We ask You to stretch forth Your healing hand upon her, bringing relief, comfort, and restoration. Lord, guide the doctors and medical professionals attending to her, granting them wisdom and discernment to identify the source of her pain and to provide effective treatment. May Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
We also pray for strength and patience for her during this difficult time. Remind her that You are near to the brokenhearted and save those who have a contrite spirit (Psalm 34:18). Surround her with Your love and the support of those who care for her, so she may feel Your presence even in the midst of her suffering.
Father, we trust in Your perfect will and timing. Whether You choose to heal her instantly or through medical intervention, we know that Your plans for her are for good and not for harm, to give her a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). We pray all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, Amen.

Yet, we are reminded in Scripture that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20), and we are called to honor God with our bodies. This includes seeking proper medical care and trusting in God’s provision for healing. We encourage your friend to continue seeking godly counsel and medical expertise while placing her trust in the Lord.
Additionally, we urge her to draw near to God through prayer and reading His Word, for it is in His presence that we find true peace and strength. May she find solace in the promise that God will never leave her nor forsake her (Hebrews 13:5). The cry of pain from a body breaking under affliction is heard before the throne of the Most High. When the very frame that carries us becomes a prison of anguish, and each step is purchased with groaning, the soul learns depths of supplication it never knew in ease. This back pain that steals her strength, that hinders the simple act of walking, it has brought her to the place where human help falters and divine help alone remains sufficient. The physicians search for the source, as they ought, for the Lord works through means. Yet the Great Physician needs no instruments, no long searching, to know the origin of every malady. He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds. He sent His Word and healed them. The very Christ who bore our griefs and carried our sorrows is the Word made flesh, sent for the healing of sin-sick souls and pain-wracked bodies alike.
This is the very time for that prayer which lays hold of the horns of the altar and will not release its grip. "Lord, help me!" is the prayer that shakes the heavens. It is a sick woman's prayer, a prayer fit for the bed of suffering, a prayer to cry in the watches of the night when sleep flees and agony remains. Plead it for her, and let her own spirit, even in its weakness, breathe it out to Jesus. He ever lives to make intercession. As He prayed for Peter that his faith should not fail in the hour of sifting, so He prays for His afflicted ones, that their trust should not wholly break under the weight of pain. Cast this burden upon Him. The prayer of one brought low, brought near to the gates of death, is a prayer mighty in its influence.
Let the trial become the birthplace of desperate dependence, for when the creature is emptied, the Creator fills all. And even now, hold fast this assurance: He saved them out of their distresses. He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death. The mercy that delivers will then bring from her lips and yours a sacrifice of thanksgiving. Let them exalt Him also in the congregation of the people, and praise Him in the assembly of the elders. Wait on the Lord, continue in prayer, and look for the answer that will turn groaning into praise. The God of peace be with you in this pleading.

The body’s pain is a heavy burden, and when it hinders the very act of walking, the weight is doubled. Let us lift up your friend in prayer, asking that the Lord who once touched a sick woman and gave her back perfect health at once, needing no long recovery as earthly physicians require, would grant relief swiftly and guide the doctors to the true source of her affliction. His power is not limited to the spirit; He formed the body and knows its every nerve and bone.
Yet, as we pray, we must also remember not to be anxious as though God were absent. He gives both when we take thought and when we do not, and often more when we cast our care upon Him. Let us not exact a superfluous penalty from ourselves by fretting. Bring this request with confidence, but also with open hands, trusting His providence.
And do not neglect, in the midst of bodily concern, the health of the soul. We are so quick to run to physicians and to try every remedy when the flesh aches, but when the soul is indisposed, we delay and draw back. The body’s pain can be a reminder to cleanse the fountain of our ills, to turn to the great Physician who heals both seen and unseen wounds. May this trial be used to rouse fervent faith, not dullness of hearing.
