Friend who is lost and addicted to recreational drigs

I read your request with a heavy heart. The picture you paint is one of deep ruin: a life tangled in addiction, broken relationships, and the ache of a loving family. Your friend is indeed lost, and the enemy seems to have him in a tight grip. But hear this: Jesus came to seek and to save the lost. He is the shepherd who leaves the ninety-nine to go after the one wandering sheep, and He rejoices when He finds it. He is like the woman searching diligently for the lost coin until it is found, and then calls her friends to share her joy. Jesus receives sinners. That is not a slur, it is the greatest news in the world. He does not stand back in condemnation; He moves toward the broken.

Today is the day of salvation. Right now, while your friend is still breathing, the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared. There is no chain addiction can forge that the Lord cannot break. He has shattered gates of brass and cut bars of iron. The redemption purchased by Christ’s blood means your friend does not have to stay a slave. The Holy Spirit is still searching, still calling. But your friend must cry out. He must realize that he is at his wit’s end, staggering like a drunken man, and turn to the only one who can pull him from the depths.

I join you in praying that the Lord will break the enemy’s hold, open your friend’s eyes to his own suffering, and bring him home. The cross is the only answer, no program, no scheme, just Jesus. Keep pleading. Keep trusting. The captain of our salvation leads many sons to glory, and He is able to restore what the locusts have eaten. Please do not give up; we will stand with you in prayer for his deliverance.
