Friend Having Dinner Tomorrow Night

Dear Lord Jesus, Friend of mine having dinner with a coworker and it could probably help save this job. Please let it do that. These people at work are corrupt disrepaect him had ex employees leave them and never learned and customer complaints. This guy might be able to help my friend. Let him get help. In Jesus Name Amen.

We join you in lifting up your friend before the throne of grace and we thank you for bringing this need to us in the name of Jesus.

We hear your heart for your friend who is facing disrespect and corruption at work and we know how heavy it is to watch someone you care about endure such an unjust environment. We are praying that the dinner tomorrow night will be a time of favor, wisdom, and help, and that the Lord will go before your friend and guide every conversation.

We pray together now, Father, we commit this dinner and this coworker into Your hands. We ask that You give Your wisdom and discernment to both of them, that You open the right doors and close the wrong ones, and that You let Your justice and mercy be seen. If it is Your will for this job to be preserved, we ask You to make a way where there seems to be no way, and to move the heart of this coworker to be an advocate and a help. If this job is not where You want him to remain, we ask that You make that clear and provide a better place where he will be respected and his work valued. We ask that You expose corruption and bring conviction where it is needed, and that You protect Your child from harm and discouragement. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

We take comfort that You see all that is happening in that workplace. Nothing is hidden from You, and You care deeply about how Your people are treated. Commit your way to Yahweh. Trust also in him, and he will do this: he will make your righteousness shine out like light, and your justice as the noon day sun. Psalm 37:5-6. Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men Colossians 3:23 reminds us that even when employers are unjust, our ultimate service is to You, and You will honor faithfulness.

We encourage your friend to continue to walk in integrity and not to repay evil for evil, trusting You to be his defender. Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord. Romans 12:19. Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a disgrace to any people. Proverbs 14:34. A workplace built on disrespect and corruption cannot stand long, for You oppose such ways, and we pray that the leadership there will learn from the loss of former employees and the complaints of customers and turn to what is right.

We also pray that your friend will have peace regardless of the outcome, knowing that You are his provider. My God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:19. And we know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28. The king’s heart is in Yahweh’s hand like the watercourses. He turns it wherever he desires. Proverbs 21:1, so we trust You to turn hearts, to grant favor, and to use this dinner for good.

We thank You, Lord Jesus, that we can come boldly to the Father through Your name, and we thank You for hearing our prayer for our brother. We will continue to stand with you in prayer for his protection, for wisdom, and for God's perfect will to be done in this situation.

We hear how much you care about your friend and how much is riding on tomorrow night for him. Watching someone you care about feel disrespected at work, seeing good employees leave and nothing change, and knowing customers are noticing too, that is heavy to carry for him and for you as his friend.

It means a lot that you are standing with him in prayer right now and hoping this dinner with his coworker can open a door. Work matters to God, and He sees the stress of not feeling valued and the worry about what happens if this job doesn't work out.

One simple way to support him through this is to let him know you are praying specifically for tomorrow night, and then check in after without pressing for details. Just asking how he felt it went and listening can take some of the pressure off, whatever the outcome is. We will be praying with you for clear conversation at that table, for wisdom for your friend in his next steps, and for peace for both of you as you wait.

Father, we lift this friend to You tonight. You know his workplace, his needs, and this dinner tomorrow. Give him calm and clarity as he talks with his coworker, and guide him toward what is good and right for his future. Comfort his heart where he has felt disrespected and provide for him. We ask this in Jesus' name, Amen.

Your prayer for your friend has been laid before the Lord and we join you in bringing it to the throne of grace. We have heard your concern for his livelihood and for the trial he endures among those who deal corruptly and show disrespect, and we know that the Lord sees all that is done and is not unmindful of those who suffer under such scorn.

We are reminded of patient Job, who when scorned by men did not spend his strength in contending with his enemies but spent his time in dealing with his God, pouring out his heart in tears and prayer. So we would encourage your friend to do the same, to look less to the arm of flesh and more to the hand of the Lord. It is very advantageous to consider the deep and unsearchable purposes of God, for His purpose is infallible and His providence orders all things for good to those who trust Him. Even a simple meal, a conversation over dinner, is in His hands and He is able to use it for help and deliverance if it be His will.

Let us pray together. O Lord our God, You have taught us from our youth and You still teach us to trust You in every need. We bring this dear one before You who seeks to keep his honest place of work while surrounded by corruption. You know the complaints, the departures, the hardness of heart that will not learn. Have mercy and show Your succor. Grant wisdom and favor in this meeting with his coworker, give him words seasoned with grace and integrity, and let what is spoken be used according to Your perfect will. If it be for his good and Your glory, open a door for help and stability, and if not, still give him patience as You gave to Job, and a fresh supply of strength and hope. Keep him from all evil and keep him upright before You, that he may speak on Your behalf by a faithful life and find his comfort not in man but in Christ alone, through whose blood alone we are cleansed and accepted. Hear us for Jesus sake, our only Redeemer and Advocate. Amen.
