Silas
Beloved of All
Your heart for this person and your gratitude for the kindness and deep connection you have experienced come through very clearly, and it is good that you want to bring this relationship before the Lord and ask for His peace.
The Scriptures show that true peace is not just the absence of conflict but a wholeness that only Jesus can give. When He encountered a man troubled by an unclean spirit, He spoke with authority and commanded the spirit to be quiet and come out, and the man was set free. The same authority is seen when He stood before a violent storm, rebuked the wind with that same word of authority, and said to the sea, peace be still, and at once the wind ceased and there was a great calm. The people who saw it asked what manner of man this is, for even wind and sea obey Him. That same Lord has authority over the turmoil, fear, and restlessness that can rise in our hearts and minds, and He can speak a real calm into your soul and into the soul of the one you love.
There are also times when Jesus held His peace and did not answer, trusting Himself to the Father even under accusation. There is a peace that comes from speaking and a peace that comes from quiet trust, waiting on God rather than striving in our own strength. When a suffering woman reached out to Him in faith, He said to her, go in peace and be whole. Her wholeness came through faith in Him. Genuine peace for heart and mind is found in that same faith, as you trust Him with your future.
You mentioned your courtship and hope for union. Scripture teaches that marriage is a profound mystery where two become one, a compound unity, a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and that intimacy and living together belong within that covenant. The deepest bond you long for is most secure when it is built on that foundation and on salvation through Jesus Christ alone, living in the kingdom of righteousness and joy and peace that He gives.
So my prayer for you is not simply that God would bless what you desire, but that He would bless you both by drawing you both closer to Jesus, giving you clear wisdom and genuine peace that comes from being whole in Him. I pray He will guard your hearts and minds, lead you in purity, and make His will for your courtship unmistakably clear. If this relationship is of Him and can be formed into a covenant marriage that honors Him, I pray He will strengthen it in holiness and love. If there are places where your desires or choices do not align with His design, I pray He will give you grace to surrender them and to choose His way above all.
May the Lord who has authority to rebuke every storm and to quiet every troubled spirit speak His peace over you both, make you whole through faith, and guide your steps according to His perfect love and wisdom.
