Freedom, Protection, Restoration and Breakthrough

Your burden for your daughters has been heard and we join you in bringing your family before the Lord in prayer.

We pray first for your own heart, for you have been deeply hurt by words of gossip and disrespect, and by seeing your daughters turn away from gratitude and honor. The Lord sees that pain and He does not betray or forget His own. He invites you to draw near to Him as Father, not in a distant or ritual way, but in a close and loving relationship as His child by adoption through Jesus Christ. He has adopted you into His family, and when you pray you may come to Him as a beloved child to a Father who hears, protects and provides.

Scripture puts great weight on the home. The first commandment that deals with our relationships with one another is to honor father and mother, and it is the only one of those commandments that carries a promise of blessing. God gives it that priority because the family is the foundation He designed. When our relationship with God is made right, our relationships with one another begin to come into right order, and when that first relationship is neglected, other relationships become confused and broken. We pray that your daughters will again have humble, grateful and respectful hearts toward you and toward the family God has given them, and that they will stop seeking approval from those who would draw them away from that foundation.

We agree with you concerning your older daughter. What you describe is not love and it is not marriage. Marriage in Scripture is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and living together and sharing finances and intimacy outside of that covenant is not God's will and does not bring security. Relationships formed outside God's design bring jealousy, rivalry, division and exhaustion, as Scripture shows even in the early families where jealousy and strife followed departures from His pattern. Living in the midst of a polluted and controlling environment also takes its toll, and even those with a godly upbringing can be worn down and confused when they remain in it. We pray that the Lord will flood your daughter's mind with clear sight, that she will see this bondage for what it is, that financial control is not love or security, that playing at home without covenant or accountability is not a true home, and that this young man is not ready for marriage. We ask God to give her wisdom, knowledge, courage and confidence to release herself completely from this entanglement without regret, and to see that every plan to isolate her from her parents, siblings, family and friends will not succeed.

We pray as God once spoke to Jacob when he was far from home, return to the land of your fathers and to your family and I will be with you. There is safety and love in returning to the place of family where God has placed her, and that call comes with the promise of His presence. We ask the Lord to speak to her even now, to remind her that she belongs to Him, that He has power to protect her, provide for her and restore what has been taken, and to lead her swiftly into freedom, self worth and joy in Him. We pray for her protection at her work and at the purposeful events entrusted to her, that she will value the work God has given her, that no jealous or disrespectful influence will distract her or diminish her gratitude, and that those who would harm or manipulate her will be kept far from those places.

We also pray for this young man and his mother. We ask God to convict where there has been overstepping, manipulation, control, division and exploitation, and where undue responsibility has been placed on your daughter. We pray that his own parents will take proper responsibility for their son and guide him to live where a single man should live, alone and accountable to his own family, rather than continuing a living arrangement that is neither a home nor a marriage. May his father be given wisdom to direct him rightly.

We lift up your younger daughter as well. We ask the Lord to protect her from imitating disrespect and gossip, and to keep her from becoming a vessel for hateful attitudes toward you. We pray that neither daughter will be manipulated or swayed from the faith, the church home and the purposeful life God has blessed them with, but that both will be guarded from influences that breed jealousy and dishonor.

We plead the blood of Jesus Christ over you and your children, trusting the promise that no weapon formed against you shall prosper and that by His wounds healing comes. We ask the Lord to surround you and your children with His protection in every part of your lives and to break every chain, every spiritual attack and every negative influence that has brought chaos, division and exhaustion. We ask Him to fill you and your household with His Holy Spirit, with peace and love that passes understanding, and to bring complete restoration, unity and victory to your family relationships.

We pray for supernatural strength, grace and favor for you as you continue to follow biblical teaching, to remain in the Word, to keep close fellowship with the Lord and with healthy believing friends and family, and to maintain clear and loving boundaries. May the Lord help you to speak to your daughter with both truth and grace, not excusing sin, but always pointing her to the unconditional love of God and of her family. Nothing is impossible for God, and we trust Him to remove the stubborn hold that has divided your home and to restore what has been broken.

In the name of Jesus we ask for freedom, protection, restoration and breakthrough for you and your daughters.
