Free My Friend from Evil

Disciple of Prayer
Father God I lift up my friend for intercessory prayer against the powers and principalities of this world. Father God we break off all incantations on her to be broken off of her and that all spiritual attacks cease in Jesus name. We rebuke the spirit of Leviathan and command it and all demons to be cast off of her in Jesus name. Father God every form of witchcraft be broken and that every vessel allowing to be used by the evil one be removed from their assignments on her in Jesus name. Father God we pray the blood of Jesus on her now and pray that the courts of heaven rule in her favor and release her from all claims of the enemy now in Jesus name Amen

We stand with you in fervent intercession for your friend, lifting her before the throne of grace with hearts united in faith. The powers of darkness have no authority over those who are in Christ Jesus, and we take our stand on the truth of God’s Word. The enemy may come to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus came that we might have life and have it abundantly (John 10:10). We declare that your friend is covered by the blood of Jesus, which speaks a better word than the blood of Abel (Hebrews 12:24). No weapon formed against her shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against her in judgment, she shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17).

We boldly rebuke every spirit of witchcraft, Leviathan, and every demonic assignment set against her in the mighty name of Jesus. The Word of God declares that the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:4). We command every evil spirit to flee and every ungodly soul tie, incantation, or curse to be broken and rendered powerless. The Lord rebuke you, Satan, and all your forces of darkness! We declare that your friend is sealed by the Holy Spirit, and no evil shall touch her (1 John 5:18).

Father, we pray that the courts of heaven would rule in her favor, releasing her from every legal claim the enemy has attempted to establish. We plead the blood of Jesus over her life, her mind, her body, and her spirit. Let every assignment of darkness be exposed and dismantled, and let your light shine brightly in her life. We pray for a fresh outpouring of your Holy Spirit upon her, filling her with peace, joy, and the assurance of your love. Strengthen her faith, Lord, and remind her that greater is He who is in her than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4).

We also encourage your friend to walk closely with the Lord, immersing herself in His Word and surrounding herself with godly fellowship. The enemy seeks to isolate, but the Lord calls us to community. Let her find refuge in the body of Christ, where she can be strengthened and encouraged. If there are areas in her life where she has unknowingly opened doors to the enemy, we pray for revelation and repentance. The Lord is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9).

Heavenly Father, we thank you for your deliverance and your protection. We thank you that your friend is free indeed (John 8:36). We declare that she is more than a conqueror through Christ who loves her (Romans 8:37). May she walk in the fullness of your freedom, joy, and purpose. We pray all these things in the powerful, matchless name of Jesus Christ, the name above every name, the name by which every knee shall bow and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord (Philippians 2:9-11). Amen.

We join you in lifting up your friend, grateful for your faithful love and boldness in prayer. It’s clear how deeply you care, and we want you to know we are standing with you before the Lord, confident that He hears the cries of His people.

It’s right that we turn to Jesus in times like these, because all authority in heaven and on earth belongs to Him. The power isn’t in a formula or in naming every spirit we’ve heard of, but in Christ Himself, His name, His blood, His finished work. As we’ve seen through Scripture, Jesus simply commanded, and the enemy had to flee. So we can rest in His authority, not in our own strength or in dramatic struggles. That truth can bring real peace when we feel weighed down by the battle.

As you continue to pray, consider how you might gently encourage your friend toward practical support as well. Sometimes when a person is under spiritual attack, they also need the steady presence of mature believers who can walk alongside them, praying, listening, and helping them stay grounded in Christ. If your friend is open, perhaps a pastor or a trusted prayer team from church can come alongside both of you, bringing wisdom and discernment. And if there are unexplainable physical or emotional symptoms, encouraging her to also see a doctor or counselor can be a wise part of caring for her whole person, even as we pray.

We pray:

Lord Jesus, we lift this beloved friend to You now. Surround her with Your mighty angels and cover her with Your precious blood. By Your authority, we command every scheme of the enemy to be silent and broken, and we ask You to release peace over her mind, body, and spirit. Guide those who pray and those who support her. Let her know deeply that she is safe in You. We trust in Your perfect love that casts out fear. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

It is a most blessed thing that you have been stirred to pray for your friend. Intercessory prayer is the sweetest God ever hears, for it is like the prayer of Christ Himself, who ever liveth to make intercession for the transgressors. You do well to take her case before the throne, for the Lord turned the captivity of Job when he prayed for his friends; and this exercise knits our hearts together in love as the heart of one man. Let this burden drive you to know her state more intimately, that you may plead with sympathetic knowledge.

Yet suffer a word of caution: we are not instructed in Scripture to hold conversation with evil spirits, nor to rebuke them by name. When the archangel disputed with Satan, he brought no railing accusation, but said, “The Lord rebuke thee.” All our deliverance is by divine power, and that power flows to us through the precious blood of Jesus. That blood speaks better things than the blood of Abel, it does not cry for vengeance but for mercy. The ransom has been found, not by our incantations or decrees, but laid down on Calvary. Hide your friend in the wounds of Jesus by pleading that atoning sacrifice; that crimson mark is the sure seal of deliverance.

I commend to you the model of Jacob’s prayer: he pleaded the covenant, crying, “O God of my fathers,” and laid hold upon the promise. So you, bring the promises before the Lord. Plead the blood of sprinkling, which cries out for the sinner’s release far louder than any voice of accusation. Instead of naming this or that principality, name the name of Jesus, who hath spoiled principalities and powers, triumphing over them in His cross. The arrow of the Lord’s deliverance must be shot by the hand of faith, looking alone to the Lamb slain.

Cease not to pray; intercessory prayer is exceedingly prevalent. It has stayed plagues and turned captivities. But let your wrestling be with God, as Jacob at the brook, not with the hosts of darkness directly. Lay hold of the Stronger One, and the strong man’s goods shall be spoiled. The deliverance from guilt and from the power of sin is as much God’s work as the bringing of Israel out of Egypt, and He alone is the Alpha and Omega. Beseech the Lord to reveal Christ to her soul, that by a miracle of grace she may be brought into glorious liberty. Then shall her flesh become fresher than a child’s, and she shall go forth with silver and gold of true spiritual blessing. May the Lord add His own blessing, for Jesus’ sake. Amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The prayer offered speaks much of breaking incantations, rebuking spirits, and rulings in heavenly courts, but it is silent on the one true hope. Christ Himself lives always to intercede for those who draw near to God through Him. He is able to save to the uttermost, not because we find the right formula of spiritual warfare, but because He ever lives. His intercession is not the plea of an inferior, but the ceaseless, loving act of the Son who shares the throne. Do not place your trust in the command of spirits, but in the love of God from which nothing can separate us.

Consider whether your friend has truly come to God through Christ, and whether her life has taken on the pattern of heavenly things. To be freed from evil is not merely to have a demon cast out, but to be crucified to the world, to put off earthly deeds and bear the image of the heavenly. One who remains full of the savor of sin, living a life no different from a raving demoniac, is not helped by a prayer that leaves the inner man unchanged. For what does it profit if a spirit is rebuked, yet the vessel remains corrupted by self-chosen madness? True freedom comes when we set our love on our country above, becoming strangers to the filth of this world. The washing of regeneration, the spiritual sacrifice, and a life worthy of heaven are the hallmarks of deliverance.

Why do you speak as though Christ’s work were incomplete or required us to plead before courts of heaven? He who is life itself, who has all judgment, who was put to death and raised for us, does not need to be suppliant for the easier things after granting the greatest. The language of intercession in Scripture is used to show the intensity of His love, not a deficiency in His power. He has already led our nature to the King’s throne. Do not trade this confidence for a system of incantations and counter-claims against the enemy. The evil one is overcome not by a noisy rebuke, but by the soul that has become heavenly through deeds meet for heaven. Exhort your friend to repentance and a quiet, steadfast faith in the one Mediator, and you will see a true and lasting release from every snare.

Your heart for your friend is evident in this prayer, and it is right to bring such burdens before the Lord. You have asked that every dark spiritual influence be broken, and that the enemy’s hold be removed. This is exactly the kind of confidence we are meant to have, not because our words are a formula, but because of what Jesus Christ has already done.

Our only access to the Father comes through His blood. It is not a token we apply; it is the sacrifice that has forever put away sin and defeated the powers of darkness. When the blood of Jesus is spoken of, we are talking about the very life of the Son of God poured out to cleanse and to conquer. So when you pray for that blood to cover your friend, you are resting in the one thing that silences every accusation of the enemy and breaks every chain. The Scripture tells us that the blood of sprinkling speaks better things than the blood of Abel. Abel’s blood cried out for justice, but Christ’s blood cries out for mercy and full release.

Remember, too, that Jesus has absolute authority over every unclean spirit. We see Him set the Gadarene free from a legion of demons with a single word. That same authority stands today. You do not need to name every dark spirit or ritual; you need only to stand in the name of Jesus, who is Lord over all. He has already triumphed over them through the cross. The book of Revelation shows the saints overcoming the accuser by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony. So your testimony is not a list of what the enemy has done, but a declaration of what Christ has done.

Do not let your thoughts become preoccupied with the power of the enemy. Fix your eyes on the High Priest who has entered heaven itself with His own blood. Because He lives, you can come boldly before the throne of grace to receive mercy in this time of need. The enemy is a defeated foe, and the only ground he seeks is the ground you give him through fear or unbelief. Instead, rest in the truth that the one who overcame the world is the one who dwells in every believer.

So continue to pray with this confidence: the blood of Jesus Christ, God’s Son, cleanses us from all sin and delivers from all darkness. The door to the Father is open. The King from the tribe of Judah is both our sovereign and our great High Priest, and He intercedes with power. Trust Him with your friend, and let your own heart be settled in the peace that passes understanding. The victory is already won.
