Fractured Left Big Toe

Striertaire

Disciple of Prayer
Last week I dropped a ### lb weight onto my left big toe. I went to the podiatrist the next day and they said the big toe bone is fractured/chipped. They also removed my entire toe nail. I also have some neuropathy in my big toe since the injury.

My greatest joy is jump roping and sled push pull at the gym. It’s a huge part of my daily routine and I am devastated that I will have pain returning to jump roping and sled push pull when I recover.

I just want God to heal me completely and quickly. I want to see God when I get my next x ray that somehow the fracture has disappeared. Amen.

We join with you in bringing this painful injury before the Lord and we lift up your left big toe to Him for complete healing. We understand how distressing this is, especially when jump roping and sled work are such a great joy and a daily part of your routine, and now you face pain, a fractured and chipped bone, the loss of your toenail, and neuropathy.

We pray together for God's healing touch upon you. He is the One who heals our bodies and cares for every detail of our lives. We remember the promise that He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds in Psalm 147:3, and that we are to bless the Lord who heals all your diseases in Psalm 103:3. We claim the truth that by His stripes we are healed in Isaiah 53:5 and that He has said I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds in Jeremiah 30:17. We ask the Lord to restore the bone, to cause the fracture and chip to mend fully, to ease the neuropathy and nerve pain, to calm inflammation, and to bring back healthy growth to the nail without infection or complication.

Father, in the name of Jesus we ask for Your mercy and healing power to rest upon this foot. We ask that You would guide the podiatrist and any who provide care, giving them wisdom. We pray for the nerves in the toe to be restored and for all pain and numbness to leave. We pray that the next x-ray would show remarkable and complete healing that gives glory to You, but above all we pray for Your perfect will and timing to be done. Grant quick healing if it is Your will, and grant patience and peace while the body mends. Strengthen and comfort this dear one who is devastated at being unable to do what brings such joy, and remind them that our ultimate joy and strength are found in You. Isaiah 40:29 reminds us that He gives power to the weak and to him who has no might he increases strength, and Isaiah 41:10 calls us to not be afraid for You are with us and will strengthen and uphold us.

We encourage you to honor the body God has given you as His temple in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 by following the doctor's instructions carefully, allowing proper rest and not rushing back to jump roping and sled push and pull before the bone has healed. Pushing too soon could cause further injury and delay the healing God is working. Use this time of waiting to draw near to Him, to pray and rest in His presence, and to trust that He will restore you to activity in His timing. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God in Philippians 4:6-7, and His peace which surpasses all understanding will guard your heart.

We noticed you asked God to heal you and said Amen, but you did not mention the name of Jesus Christ in your request, and we want to lovingly share that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father. Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me in John 14:6, and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved in Acts 4:12. It is by believing in Jesus, that He died for our sins and rose again, and confessing Him as Lord, that we are saved and our prayers are heard in Romans 10:9. If you have not already, we encourage you to place your trust fully in Jesus Christ as your Savior and to bring every prayer before God in His precious name.

So we pray, Father, we thank You for hearing us through Jesus Your Son. We ask for complete restoration of this toe, for the fracture to be healed, for nerves to be renewed, for pain to be removed, and for joy to be restored. Give peace in place of devastation, patience in place of anxiety, and faith to see Your hand at work whether the healing comes instantly or through the natural process You designed. We ask all of this in the mighty name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Healer, Amen.

We were sorry to hear about your injury. Dropping that weight and then facing a fracture, losing the toenail, and now dealing with tingling in the toe is a lot to go through in one week.

We also hear how heavy this feels because jump roping and sled push and pull are not just exercise for you, they are part of your daily rhythm and joy. It makes sense you feel devastated thinking about pain when you try to return.

We are praying with you for complete healing, and we are also praying for patience and peace in the waiting. God sees both your physical pain and the disappointment of having to step back from what you love.

While you wait for your next x ray, we encourage you to keep close follow up with your podiatrist, especially about the neuropathy you mentioned, and to follow their instructions for protecting the toe and for when it is safe to gradually return to activity. If you have questions about pain or the tingling, let them know promptly.

Father, we bring our brother before You in Jesus name. You know his pain and his desire to be fully restored. We ask for Your healing hand on this fracture, for wisdom for his doctors, and for comfort as he waits. Give him peace, guard his heart from discouragement, and guide his steps forward day by day. In Jesus name we pray, amen.

Praying for your healing - let our Lord guide you and allow yourself to heal without overdoing it. You will heal and recover; be patient with the Lord’s help.
Praying for you in the name of Jesus.

Your request concerning your fractured toe has been brought before the Lord and before His people with sincere sympathy and prayer. We have heard how heavy this affliction is, the pain of the fracture and the chipped bone, the removal of the nail, the strange distress of neuropathy, and the sorrow of being kept from those exercises which have been your daily joy and strength. Such bodily trials try the spirits, and we do not make light of them.

We would point you to the Great Physician, our Lord Jesus Christ, who is Jehovah Rophi, the healing Lord. He gives healing without money and without price, and His dispensary is open at any hour, by night or by day, to every creature who trusts Him. For these eighteen hundred years, yea for six thousand years, He has been mighty to save, and His power to heal both soul and body is not diminished. There is an abundance of healing power in Him, so that not only His fruit but even the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is full of healing virtue.

We join you in asking the Lord for complete and gracious restoration. We pray that He would knit the broken bone, calm the troubled nerves, ease the pain, and bring sound healing to the flesh, that the next examination would show His merciful hand at work. Yet we pray also that you would know the deeper healing which He delights to give. When Jesus healed the man sick of the palsy, He first said, Son, be of good cheer, thy sins are forgiven thee, laying the axe at the root. Pardon and healing are one in His hand, and the Sun of Righteousness rises with healing in His wings for all who look to Him. If you have not already done so, seek first that your sin be forgiven through faith in His blood, for that is the cure which makes the whole nature new and gives a peace which remains even when the body is weak.

Physical strength is a desirable blessing, to be hale and strong and vigorous, but true strength is from the Lord, and in some it takes the form of great patience under trial. As Job was strong in affliction, so the Lord can make you strong to endure this season. Recovery is often slow, and wonder not if it should be so. As strength returns little by little, acknowledge each increase as a new claim upon your affection and gratitude to Him who governs all without violating the nature of the creature He has made.

Therefore we pray for you now, that the God of all grace would forgive your sins through Christ, heal your body according to His perfect will and power, remove the neuropathy, restore the bone and tissue, and in His time return to you the use of your foot without lingering pain. And whether He heals suddenly or by slow degrees, may He keep your heart stayed upon Him, teaching you to trust the Physician more than the cure, until that day when His salvation shall perfectly heal our bodies and we shall be without spot or wrinkle. We commit you to His tender care, asking all in the name of Jesus our only hope. Amen.
