Fornication, adultery, restoration

Kensem

Beloved of All
Please lift a special someone (hidden for privacy reasons) to the throne of God in the name of Jesus.
This person is said to be a born-again Christian, but he distanced himself from God due to fornication and therefore married an adulterous woman.
Let us pray in Jesus name that this person accepts God's will regarding their broken relationship, and understands that, as a Christian, they cannot be unequally yoked, but must marry someone who is also a Christian.

Let's pray based on these verses:
Hosea 2:19-23
[19] “I will betroth you to Me forever; Yes, I will betroth you to Me In righteousness and justice, In lovingkindness and mercy;
[20] I will betroth you to Me in faithfulness, And you shall know the Lord.
[21] “It shall come to pass in that day That I will answer,” says the Lord; “I will answer the heavens, And they shall answer the earth.
[22] The earth shall answer With grain, With new wine, And with oil; They shall answer Jezreel.
[23] Then I will sow her for Myself in the earth, And I will have mercy on her who had not obtained mercy; Then I will say to those who were not My people, ‘You are My people!’ And they shall say, ‘You are my God!’”

Please continue to pray...Keep praying that this brother has unweavering faith in Jesus Christ and the Father's holy plan for his life...AMEN
LET GOD BE GLORIFIED!!

Please continue to pray in Jesus' name that this brother drives the adulterous and godless woman out of his house/flat. Do not persecute those who pray for him and encourage him to follow God. To God be the glory who is Holy forever.

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this brother who has strayed from the path of righteousness. Father, we know that Your Word is clear: "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14). This brother, though born again, has entered into a union that does not honor You, and we grieve for the sin of fornication and adultery that has entangled him. The Scriptures declare, "Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge" (Hebrews 13:4). We rebuke the deception that led him to believe this path was acceptable, for You call us to holiness, not compromise.

Lord, we pray that You would break the chains of sin in his life. Let conviction fall upon his heart like a fire, that he may see the error of his ways and turn from this ungodly union. Your Word says, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). We ask that You grant him the strength to repent and walk in obedience to Your will. Father, we also pray for the woman involved, if she is unrepentant, that You would either draw her to salvation or remove her from his life so that he may be free to pursue a marriage that honors You.

We stand on the promise of Hosea 2:19-20, declaring that You will betroth us in righteousness, justice, lovingkindness, and mercy. We claim this restoration for our brother, that he would know You afresh and walk in faithfulness. Lord, we ask that You would soften his heart to receive correction and surround him with godly counsel. Let him not be deceived by the enemy’s lies, but let him be rooted in Your truth. We pray that he would drive out the ungodly influence from his home, as Your Word commands, "Do not bring a detestable thing into your house, or you, like it, will be set apart for destruction" (Deuteronomy 7:26).

Father, we also lift up those who are praying for him. Let them not grow weary in intercession, for Your Word says, "The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much" (James 5:16). Protect them from discouragement and strengthen their faith as they stand in the gap for this brother.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we are saved (Acts 4:12). There is no other way to the Father except through Him (John 14:6). We declare that this brother’s faith will not fail, and that he will return to You with a repentant heart. May Your will be done in his life, and may Your glory be revealed. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

We hear the weight you are carrying for this brother and how faithfully you have been lifting him before the Lord. It is painful to watch someone you care about drift from God and make choices that wound his own walk and others.

We are joining you in asking God to draw him back to Himself, to renew his faith and give him clarity and courage to seek God's will above all else. Real turning to God is more than feeling sorry for a time, it is a change of direction that God works in the heart over time, and that kind of work often happens quietly and steadily as a person stays exposed to God's presence and truth.

One way we can stay helpful as we pray is to keep our part simple and steady. Continue to bring him to the Lord each day and entrust the outcome to Him, and when you have opportunity, be a calm and kind presence in his life rather than pressing for a quick decision. That consistency gives God room to work and keeps your own heart at peace while you wait.

Father, in Jesus' name we lift this brother to You. Draw him close, restore his fellowship with You, and give him unwavering faith and wisdom to follow Your holy plan for his life. Work in both of their hearts with mercy and truth, and give our friend who is praying grace, patience, and peace as he trusts You with this. Amen.

Lord Jesus please richly bless, protect and guide them. Please help them in accordance with your perfect will Father. Thank you and praise you. In your holy name I pray. Amen.

Your petition has been heard and is brought with gravity before the throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone is salvation.

There is cause for deep concern in what you have described, for to commit fornication and adultery in the sight of God is an awful thing, as a rebel committing treason in the presence of his king. The Scriptures are plain that marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and that the bed and the dwelling together belong within that covenant alone. No prayer can ask God to bless that which His Word calls sin, but we may and must pray for mercy, for true repentance, and for perfect restoration through Christ.

We do pray for this brother of whom you speak, that the Lord would grant him not a carnal repentance which is of the flesh and after the manner of the sinful nature, but that repentance unto life which is wrought in the renewed heart by the Holy Spirit. True repentance gives God glory. It makes a man weep and abhor his past life because of the love of Christ which has pardoned it, and it makes him avoid present sin because of the love of God who died for him. It looks out of self to Christ, and to Christ only, and it yields works meet for repentance, a practical repentance that lasts. Such repentance is not to be put in the place of Christ, for Christ is exalted on high to give both repentance and remission of sins. We are to preach repentance and remission in His name, and where there is true godly sorrow there is full and free forgiveness.

We pray also that this man may know the goodness of God which leads to repentance. The Lord does not merely drive men as Cain was driven, but draws them. May the goodness of God, His longsuffering and lovingkindness, melt this heart and bring a broken spirit and a contrite heart, which God will not despise. David remembered that there was no sacrifice appointed under the Law for adultery, yet he cried, The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit, and found mercy. So may this brother find it.

You have quoted Hosea, I will betroth you to Me forever in righteousness and justice, in lovingkindness and mercy, in faithfulness, and you shall know the Lord. This is the betrothal of grace, and it is forever. If this brother is indeed born again, he is betrothed to Christ, and that bond calls him to faithfulness. The precept, Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers, is the easy yoke of Christ. To reject it is to take up at last the iron yoke of remorse, which is dreadful to bear. We pray that he may accept the Father's holy will regarding his relationships and his house, that his home may be ordered in holiness and not in fornication, and that every tie which is contrary to the Word of God may be judged in the light of Scripture with counsel and with fear of God. We do not pray for harshness or for driving in the spirit of the flesh, but for that holy separation from sin which true faith requires, and for wisdom from above to do what is right before God concerning the covenant he has entered. If he is bound, let him seek the Lord's mind in the Word with humility. If he is in sin, let him be severed from it speedily, as Peter who, when the Lord looked upon him, went out and wept bitterly, and was restored by that same look and by the threefold charge to feed the sheep.

We join you in praying that this brother may have unwavering faith in Jesus Christ and in the Father's holy plan for his life, that he may continue in repentance as long as he lives, for repentance lives as long as faith, and sweet sister Repentance is the companion of faith till we enter glory. May he know that repentance and faith are inseparable, the one purging the soul from dead works and the other filling it with living works, the one pulling down and the other building up.

We pray for the woman also, that if she has not obtained mercy she may obtain it, and that those who were not His people may become His people, and say, You are my God. The Lord is able to sow and to restore and to have mercy.

Let us continue to pray that God would be glorified in a thorough work of grace, that sin may be forsaken, that Christ may be trusted alone, and that this house may be made holy unto the Lord. To God be the glory who is holy forever. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We join you in lifting this brother to the throne of God in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have salvation and access to the Father.

We pray that God in His mercy will bring this man to true repentance and to a clear knowledge of the Lord. As Scripture teaches, we are saved not because we were worthy but because it seemed good to God to call us by His will in Christ. If he has turned away through fornication, there is still repentance. Repentance has great power to set free from the burden of sin and to establish in safety even one who has come to the depth of wickedness, if he will lay hold on it with tears and a sincere heart. We pray with the Psalmist, create in him a clean heart, O God, and wash his heart from wickedness, for blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.

We pray that he will understand what holiness means. Scripture says follow peace with all men and holiness. This holiness is chaste and orderly living. Marriage is honorable and pure, and it preserves the holiness which comes from faith by not permitting union with what is outside of it. Fornication and adultery are not light matters. They defile a person from within, for from the heart proceed evil thoughts, fornications and adulteries. And whether a man defiles a woman bound to another, or being bound to a wife defiles himself with another woman who is free, the crime is the same before God. He sins against his own flesh and insults God Himself, who avenges Himself. We pray this brother will see the seriousness of this and turn wholly to God.

We pray Hosea 2 over him, that God would betroth him to Himself forever in righteousness and justice, in lovingkindness and mercy, in faithfulness, so that he shall know the Lord. We pray that God who answers the heavens and the earth will have mercy on him and call him again, you are My people, and grant him unwavering faith in Jesus Christ and trust in the Father's holy plan for his life.

Regarding his marriage, we affirm what God has taught from the beginning, that marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and that sexual union and living together belong only within that covenant. A Christian is not to be unequally yoked, but to marry only in the Lord, with chastity and honor. Where a marriage already exists, it is a solemn covenant before God and is not to be broken lightly or in anger. We pray that this brother will accept God's will regarding his broken relationship and seek Godly counsel. Let him not act in haste or in harshness, but bring his situation before faithful pastors and elders in his local church, confess his sin honestly, seek wisdom from Scripture, and pursue peace and holiness. If he has sinned through fornication, let him repent. If his wife is living in adultery and godlessness, let him pray for her salvation while also refusing to share in sin, and let him be guided by the church in how to live in a holy way within his own house. We do not ask God to bless what is contrary to His Word, but we ask Him to make both this man and this woman new in Christ, and to establish this home, if it is to remain a home, only on righteousness.

We also pray for you who intercede. Do not grow weary, and do not repay persecution with persecution. Continue in prayer, in love and in truth, encouraging this brother to follow God with a whole heart. May he learn to delight not in what leads to fornication but in chastity, godly fear and humility, which the harlot cannot offer.

We ask all this in the name of Jesus, that God will be glorified, that this brother will be restored to fellowship with Christ, and that his life will henceforth be ordered in faithfulness and purity. Amen.
