Fornication, adultery, restoration

Kensem

Beloved of All
Please lift a special someone (hidden for privacy reasons) to the throne of God in the name of Jesus.
This person is said to be a born-again Christian, but he distanced himself from God due to fornication and therefore married an adulterous woman.
Let us pray in Jesus name that this person accepts God's will regarding their broken relationship, and understands that, as a Christian, they cannot be unequally yoked, but must marry someone who is also a Christian.

Let's pray based on these verses:
Hosea 2:19-23
[19] “I will betroth you to Me forever; Yes, I will betroth you to Me In righteousness and justice, In lovingkindness and mercy;
[20] I will betroth you to Me in faithfulness, And you shall know the Lord.
[21] “It shall come to pass in that day That I will answer,” says the Lord; “I will answer the heavens, And they shall answer the earth.
[22] The earth shall answer With grain, With new wine, And with oil; They shall answer Jezreel.
[23] Then I will sow her for Myself in the earth, And I will have mercy on her who had not obtained mercy; Then I will say to those who were not My people, ‘You are My people!’ And they shall say, ‘You are my God!’”

Please continue to pray...Keep praying that this brother has unweavering faith in Jesus Christ and the Father's holy plan for his life...AMEN
LET GOD BE GLORIFIED!!

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear brother who has strayed from the path of righteousness through the sin of fornication and entered into an adulterous marriage. The Word of God is clear: "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14). This brother, though born again, has allowed his flesh to lead him into disobedience, and we must intercede for his restoration with urgency and compassion.

The Lord declares in His Word, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). Yet, forgiveness requires repentance, a turning away from sin and a returning to God with a broken and contrite heart. This brother must be convicted by the Holy Spirit to recognize the gravity of his actions. Fornication and adultery are not merely mistakes; they are grievous sins that defile the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:18-20) and distort God’s design for marriage, which is a sacred covenant between one man and one woman (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6).

We also lift up the woman involved in this adulterous union. If she is not a believer, she must hear the Gospel and come to saving faith in Jesus Christ. If she claims to be a Christian, she too must repent of her sin and seek God’s forgiveness. The Lord is merciful, but His mercy does not excuse willful disobedience. "Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the bed be undefiled; but God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterers" (Hebrews 13:4).

Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). We lift up this brother to You, asking that You would break the chains of sin that bind him. Convict his heart, Lord, and draw him back to You with cords of love. Let him see the error of his ways and turn from this adulterous relationship, for You have said, "No one can serve two masters; for either he will hate the one and love the other, or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other" (Matthew 6:24). May he choose to serve You alone, forsaking all that displeases You.

We pray that You would soften his heart to receive Your correction and that he would humble himself before You, seeking Your will above his own desires. Your Word says, "The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit. A broken and contrite heart, O God, You will not despise" (Psalm 51:17). May this brother experience the fullness of Your forgiveness and restoration, just as You restored Hosea to Gomer, not because of her worthiness, but because of Your unfailing love and faithfulness.

Lord, we also pray for wisdom and discernment for this brother. If this marriage cannot be reconciled to Your standards, if the woman is unwilling to repent and submit to Your Word, then grant him the courage to walk away, trusting in Your provision and plan for his life. You have promised, "I will never leave you nor forsake you" (Hebrews 13:5), and we hold fast to that promise on his behalf.

We declare over this brother the truths of Hosea 2:19-23, that You would betroth him to You in righteousness, justice, lovingkindness, and mercy. May he know You more deeply and walk in faithfulness to Your covenant. Let him be sown into the earth as a testimony of Your grace, and may he say with all his heart, "You are my God!"

We rebuke the spirit of deception that has led him astray, and we command every lie of the enemy to be broken in the name of Jesus. Let the truth of Your Word pierce his heart like a double-edged sword (Hebrews 4:12), and may he be set free from every stronghold of sin. We pray that his faith would be unwavering, rooted in the finished work of Christ on the cross, and that he would stand firm in the armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18).

Father, we ask that You would surround this brother with godly counsel and accountability. Place believers in his life who will speak truth in love and encourage him to walk in holiness. May he find a church family that will uphold him in prayer and support him as he seeks to align his life with Your Word.

We also pray for the salvation of the woman involved. If she does not know You, Lord, reveal Yourself to her in a powerful way. Let her see her need for a Savior and turn to Jesus in repentance and faith. If she is a believer, convict her of her sin and lead her to repentance, that she may be restored to fellowship with You.

Above all, Lord, we pray that Your name would be glorified in this situation. May Your will be done, and may this brother’s life be a testament to Your grace, mercy, and transforming power. We trust in Your promise that "He who began a good work in [him] will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ" (Philippians 1:6).

In the precious and powerful name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We are deeply grateful for the privilege to stand in the gap and lift this precious soul before the throne of grace in the powerful name of Jesus. It is our heart’s desire to continue interceding for this brother, that the Holy Spirit would convict, restore, and realign his heart with the perfect will of the Father.

We have prayed fervently that he would turn away from the snares of sin and embrace the freedom found only in Christ, remembering the truth that as a believer, he is called to walk in holiness and to be unequally yoked with no one. We have claimed the promises of Hosea 2:19-23 over his life—that God would betroth him in righteousness, lovingkindness, and faithfulness, and that he would come to know the Lord in deeper measure. We have asked the Lord to break every chain of bondage, to soften hardened places in his heart, and to reveal His mercy and grace afresh.

If the Lord has already moved in this situation—if this brother has surrendered his will to God’s, if his eyes have been opened to the truth of His Word, or if restoration has begun—we would be overjoyed to hear a praise report. Please share how God has answered, so that we may rejoice with you and give Him all the glory.

If, however, the battle still rages and the answer has not yet come, we invite you to post this request again. We are committed to standing with you in persistent, faith-filled prayer until the victory is won. Let us not grow weary, for the Lord is faithful, and His timing is perfect. We will continue to pray that this brother’s faith would be unwavering, that he would fully submit to God’s holy plan for his life, and that he would experience the fullness of redemption in Christ.

May the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard your heart and mind in Jesus’ name. We pray this in the mighty name of Jesus, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.
