Please lift a special someone (hidden for privacy reasons) to the throne of God in the name of Jesus.
This person is said to be a born-again Christian, but he distanced himself from God due to fornication and therefore married an adulterous woman.
Let us pray in Jesus name that this person accepts God's will regarding their broken relationship, and understands that, as a Christian, they cannot be unequally yoked, but must marry someone who is also a Christian.

Let's pray based on these verses:
Hosea 2:19-23
[19] “I will betroth you to Me forever; Yes, I will betroth you to Me In righteousness and justice, In lovingkindness and mercy;
[20] I will betroth you to Me in faithfulness, And you shall know the Lord.
[21] “It shall come to pass in that day That I will answer,” says the Lord; “I will answer the heavens, And they shall answer the earth.
[22] The earth shall answer With grain, With new wine, And with oil; They shall answer Jezreel.
[23] Then I will sow her for Myself in the earth, And I will have mercy on her who had not obtained mercy; Then I will say to those who were not My people, ‘You are My people!’ And they shall say, ‘You are my God!’”

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear brother who has strayed from the path of righteousness through the sin of fornication and entered into an adulterous marriage. The Word of God is clear: "Marriage is honorable among all, and the bed undefiled; but fornicators and adulterers God will judge" (Hebrews 13:4). This brother, though born again, has allowed sin to entangle him, and we must pray fervently for his repentance and restoration.

First, we must acknowledge that this situation grieves the heart of God. The Lord designed marriage to be a holy covenant between one man and one woman, both committed to Him (Genesis 2:24, Matthew 19:4-6). To be unequally yoked with an unbeliever is to invite spiritual compromise and heartache, as Scripture warns: "Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14). This brother must understand that his current union does not align with God’s perfect will, and we pray he has the courage to seek the Lord’s guidance in this matter.

We also rebuke the spirit of deception that may have convinced him that this path was acceptable. The enemy seeks to distort God’s truth, but we stand on the promise that "if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). There is no sin too great for God’s mercy, but true repentance requires turning away from disobedience and submitting to His will.

Let us pray:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). We lift up this brother who has wandered from Your truth. Lord, we ask that You break the chains of sin in his life and soften his heart to receive Your correction. Convict him of the need to align his life with Your Word, for You desire holiness and obedience from Your children.

Father, we pray that You would reveal to him the depth of his sin and the beauty of Your forgiveness. May he experience the fullness of Your grace as he turns back to You with a repentant heart. If this marriage is not of You, give him the strength to make the difficult but necessary choices to honor You. Surround him with godly counsel and believers who will encourage him in righteousness.

Lord, we declare Your promises over his life, as You said in Hosea 2:19-20: "I will betroth you to Me forever; yes, I will betroth you to Me in righteousness and justice, in lovingkindness and mercy; I will betroth you to Me in faithfulness, and you shall know the Lord." Restore him, O God, and lead him into a marriage that reflects Your glory, a union built on faith, love, and mutual submission to Christ.

We also pray for the woman involved. If she is not a believer, we ask that You draw her to salvation through Jesus Christ. If she is unrepentant in her sin, we pray that You would open her eyes to the truth and bring conviction to her heart.

Father, we trust in Your perfect plan for this brother’s life. Strengthen his faith, deepen his walk with You, and let him experience the fullness of Your restoration. May he emerge from this trial with a testimony of Your faithfulness, and may his life bring glory to Your name.

We encourage this brother to seek the Lord earnestly through prayer, fasting, and the study of Scripture. He must surround himself with godly men who can hold him accountable and speak truth into his life. The path to restoration begins with humility and a willingness to submit to God’s will, no matter the cost. We stand with him in prayer, believing that God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think (Ephesians 3:20). Let us continue to intercede on his behalf, trusting that the Lord will complete the good work He has begun in him (Philippians 1:6).

Thank you for standing in the gap for this man and for keeping him before the throne of grace. It is heavy to watch someone you care about drift, and your persistence matters.

Sometimes we get focused on the outward relationship, but the deeper need is the man’s own heart. Distance from God usually begins before the visible choices, and the way back starts with a renewed glimpse of Christ’s faithfulness. Pray that the Lord becomes irresistible to him again, not just so the relationship question gets sorted out, but so his whole soul wakes up to the one who never stopped pursuing him.

As you keep praying, consider asking a mature believer who knows him to walk with him personally. A turning like this often needs steady, face-to-face encouragement, not just private intercession.

Father, we bring this son to You. You see where he is, what he has run from, and what he is tangled in. Draw him back gently and firmly. Give him a heart that is honest about his sin and willing to let go of whatever stands between him and You. Grant him clear understanding about what it means to be joined to someone who shares his faith in Christ, and give him the courage to obey even when it costs him. Have mercy on the woman involved as well; bring her to repentance and the knowledge of Jesus. Strengthen the one praying, that they may keep trusting You while they wait. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

The case you have spread before the throne is one of those sorrows that ought to make every believer watch and pray. Fornication and adultery are not small breaches; they are the breaking of bones. If this man is truly born again, he will not be left easy in his sin. A child of God cannot go aside without finding that the yoke of wood he broke has been replaced by a yoke of iron. You say he has distanced himself from God. That is no wonder. Sin always makes a man run from the light. Yet the Lord is not running from him. The look that fell upon Peter in the high priest's hall can fall upon this hidden one. That look breaks, but it also restores.

You pray from Hosea, and rightly, for God speaks there of betrothal in righteousness, in justice, in lovingkindness, in mercy, and in faithfulness. That is the marriage every soul must seek first. A man who is joined in an unequal yoke to an adulterous woman has overturned the stone wall of his character and lies open to all evil. The command is not a human opinion: Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers. If this woman is as described, unrepentant in adultery, she is no yokefellow for one who names the name of Christ. To stand in such a union is not kindness; it is a broken fence with the wolves already in the fold.

But the great matter is not merely the removal of the wrong yoke. It is the breaking of the heart. The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. We may ask that the bones which God has broken may rejoice, but first they must be brought to the Surgeon. Jesus Christ is the Healer of broken hearts because His own heart was broken. Do not let the brother imagine he can patch up this ruin with a little outward reformation. He must come to Christ with all the ruin, confessing it as sin against God. Against thee, thee only, have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight. That confession alone opens the door to perfect restoration.

Therefore I bend the knee with you in the name of Jesus. Let this hidden one be sought by the Good Shepherd until he hears the cock crow in his own conscience. Let him be brought to the end of himself, seeing that he has nothing, absolutely nothing, to bring before God. Let him cry out from the depths. Then let the Lord say to him, as in Hosea, You are my people, and let him answer, You are my God. Let the Lord build the walls that are broken down, and let the restored soul know the joy of His salvation once more. Let the Lord give him no peace until he obeys the Word, whatever that obedience costs. Pray on. Do not grow weary. God can restore the years that the locust has eaten, and He will be glorified in the repentance of this sinner, for Christ's sake. Amen.

Your prayer for this brother has been heard and I join you in lifting him to the throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have salvation and access to the Father.

You have asked rightly that he would return to the Lord and accept God's will for his life. The Scriptures you have named from Hosea show the heart of God, who betroths His people to Himself forever in righteousness and justice, in lovingkindness and mercy and in faithfulness, and who says to those who were not His people, You are My people. This is the mercy held out to every sinner who truly turns to Him. God does not cast away the repentant, but He does require a true repentance.

For it is not enough to shed tears or to feel sorrow for a moment. As Esau sought the blessing with tears and found no place of repentance because his heart was not truly changed, so also a sorrow that does not turn away from sin is not repentance as God requires. True repentance is to turn from fornication and adultery and to walk again in holiness. These sins are not light, for he who commits them sins not only against man but against God Himself. Whether it be fornication with one who is unmarried or adultery with one who is bound to another, the offense is against the Lord who gave the law, and it defiles the soul.

Marriage is a bond ordained by God and it is honorable. Holiness is preserved when a man lives chastely, either in purity while unmarried or in faithfulness with his own wife within the covenant of one man and one woman for life. Sex and living together belong only within that covenant. Outside of it there is no necessity that compels a man to sin, for natural desire was given for marriage and for the procreation of children, not for corruption. To love another man's wife or to live in fornication is a matter of choice and wantonness, not of compulsion, and for this we will give account.

Therefore let us pray that this brother will come to true repentance, forsaking fornication and every unequal yoking, and that he will seek first the spiritual things and set them above all earthly excuses. If he is to marry, let it be only in the Lord and according to the holy design of God, not being unequally yoked with an unbeliever. If he is already bound in marriage, let him learn what it means that marriage is a lifelong covenant and seek the Lord's wisdom with counsel and with a chaste and ordered life, desiring not his own will but the will of God.

Let us pray together.

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, we bring this brother before You. You know his heart and his wanderings. Have mercy upon him as You have promised to have mercy on those who had not obtained mercy. Grant him unwavering faith in Jesus Christ and in Your holy plan for his life. Open his eyes to see the sin of fornication and adultery as sin against You, and grant him godly sorrow that leads to true repentance and a turning away from sin. Cleanse him by the blood of Christ, renew him by Your Holy Spirit, and lead him to walk in holiness, whether in purity or in a faithful marriage as You have ordained. Give him wisdom to accept Your will regarding this broken relationship, to not be unequally yoked, and to seek a life that honors You in all things. Establish him in righteousness, justice, lovingkindness and faithfulness, that he may know You and live to Your glory. Amen. Let God be glorified.
