Fornication, adultery, restoration

Beloved of All
Please lift a special someone (hidden for privacy reasons) to the throne of God in the name of Jesus.
This person is said to be a born-again Christian, but he distanced himself from God due to fornication and therefore married an adulterous woman.
Let us pray in Jesus name that this person accepts God's will regarding their broken relationship, and understands that, as a Christian, they cannot be unequally yoked, but must marry someone who is also a Christian.

Let's pray based on these verses:
Hosea 2:19-23
[19] “I will betroth you to Me forever; Yes, I will betroth you to Me In righteousness and justice, In lovingkindness and mercy;
[20] I will betroth you to Me in faithfulness, And you shall know the Lord.
[21] “It shall come to pass in that day That I will answer,” says the Lord; “I will answer the heavens, And they shall answer the earth.
[22] The earth shall answer With grain, With new wine, And with oil; They shall answer Jezreel.
[23] Then I will sow her for Myself in the earth, And I will have mercy on her who had not obtained mercy; Then I will say to those who were not My people, ‘You are My people!’ And they shall say, ‘You are my God!’”

We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, lifting up this dear brother in Christ who has strayed from the path of righteousness through the sin of fornication and entered into an adulterous marriage. Father God, we know that Your heart breaks when Your children turn away from Your perfect design for love, intimacy, and covenant relationship. We stand in the gap for this precious soul, asking that You would draw him back to Yourself with cords of lovingkindness.

Lord, we declare over him the truth of Hosea 2:19-20: *"I will betroth you to me forever. Yes, I will betroth you to me in righteousness, in justice, in loving kindness, and in compassion. I will even betroth you to me in faithfulness; and you shall know Yahweh."* We pray that this brother would experience the depth of Your redeeming love—that he would know You not just as Savior, but as the One who restores what has been broken. May he feel the weight of his sin, not to condemn him, but to lead him to repentance and restoration in You.

The Word is clear that believers must not be unequally yoked with unbelievers (2 Corinthians 6:14). This marriage, born out of sin, cannot stand as it is, for it does not reflect Your holy design. We boldly ask, Father, that You would bring conviction where there is hardness of heart, clarity where there is confusion, and courage where there is fear. If this union cannot be redeemed in a way that honors You, then we pray for the strength to walk away, trusting that Your plans for this brother are for good and not for harm (Jeremiah 29:11).

We rebuke the spirit of deception that has kept him bound in this sin, and we break every ungodly soul tie formed through fornication and adultery in the mighty name of Jesus. We declare that he is not defined by his failures but by the blood of Christ, which cleanses him from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). Lord, let him remember the joy of his salvation and the freedom found only in obedience to You.

We also lift up the woman involved in this adulterous union. If she does not know You, we pray that she would encounter the life-changing power of the Gospel. If she claims to be a believer, we ask that You would expose any unrepentant sin in her life and lead her to true repentance. May both of them seek Your face above all else, for You alone can heal what has been broken.

Father, we ask that You would surround this brother with godly counsel—men and women of faith who will speak truth in love, hold him accountable, and point him back to Your Word. Give him the humility to receive correction and the wisdom to make choices that align with Your will. If it is Your desire for him to pursue marriage in the future, may he seek a godly spouse who loves You first and foremost, one who will walk with him in faith and righteousness.

We pray for restoration—not just of circumstances, but of his heart. Let him experience the fullness of Your mercy, as Hosea 2:23 declares: *"I will sow her for myself in the earth; and I will have mercy on her who had not obtained mercy; then I will say to those who were not My people, ‘You are My people!’ And they shall say, ‘You are my God!’"* May he know, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that You are his God and he is Your beloved child.

In all of this, we trust in Your sovereignty. You are the God who makes all things new (Revelation 21:5), and we believe that what the enemy meant for harm, You can turn for good (Genesis 50:20). We ask all of this in the powerful, matchless name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we are saved and through whom we have access to the Father. Amen.

We stand with you, dear brother, in this time of reflection and repentance. Like the prodigal son, you've strayed from your Father's house, but remember, His love for you never wavered. He's been waiting, longing for your return.

In Hosea 2:14-15, God says, "Therefore, I am now going to allure her; I will lead her into the wilderness and speak tenderly to her. There I will give her back her vineyards, and will make the Valley of Achor a door of hope." He's speaking of a time of restoration, of turning away from sin and returning to Him.

We pray that you would feel the gentle pull of the Father, drawing you back to Him. May you find the courage to turn away from this adulterous relationship, trusting that God's ways are always best, even when they're hard.

We also pray for the woman involved. If she's not a believer, may she encounter the life-changing power of the Gospel. If she is, may she repent of any unrepentant sin and seek God's face above all else.

Remember, brother, God's mercy is new every morning (Lamentations 3:22-23). He's ready to forgive, to restore, to make you His own again. Trust in His love, and take that first step back to Him. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings, healing, and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
