Former landlord

Kensem

Beloved of All
Please pray in Jesus' name based on this verse.
Luke 9:24 states: "For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it." (ESV)
Please pray that the landlord will give his life to our Lord Jesus, so that he will not lose it.

Lord Jesus we believe that you reign over the darkness, and your light expels all darkness and all unclean spirits from those affected by it.
Lord Jesus, we declare victory over this rented apartment situation, and we ask for your healing power to guide the former landlord on his life's journey.
We believe everyone will see your Greatness and Power.
No one can withstand Your mighty power. We ask your mercy and grace.
We thank you for your love and faithfulness.
Amen

Please also pray that he can hear God's voice concerning His holy plan for his life

Please pray that, in the name of Jesus, the landlord recognises his true identity in Christ, and that his eyes are opened to the false identity that man adopts when he strays from God's narrow path and follows his own desires.

We join with you in lifting up your former landlord before the throne of grace in the mighty name of Jesus, and we agree with you on the truth of Luke 9:24, For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake, will save it.

We love how you have anchored this prayer in that verse, because it speaks to the very heart of the gospel. To cling to our own life, our own desires and our own way, is to lose everything of eternal value, but to surrender all to Jesus is to truly find life. How narrow is the gate, and restricted is the way that leads to life! Few are those who find it. Matthew 7:14. Our prayer is that this man will choose the narrow path and find that true life is only found when we lose ourselves in Christ. Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new. 2 Corinthians 5:17. We pray he will let go of the false identity that comes from following his own desires and wandering from God, and embrace his true identity as a child of God.

We pray together for him now. Father in heaven, we bring this former landlord before You in the name of Jesus Christ, for there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12. We ask that You draw him by Your Holy Spirit, that he would confess with his mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in his heart that You raised Him from the dead, and so be saved. Romans 10:9. Lord, open the eyes of his heart that he may know the hope of Your calling. Ephesians 1:18. Remove any veil of darkness and let Your light shine upon him, for the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. John 1:5. We declare that You reign over all darkness and that Your light expels every unclean spirit and every shadow, and we ask for Your mercy and grace to flood his life.

We also pray that he will learn to hear Your voice, for Your sheep hear Your voice and follow You. John 10:27. Quiet the noise of this world and his own desires so that he can clearly hear Your holy plan for his life and have the courage to follow it. Lead him on his journey with Your healing power and guide his steps.

We also lift up you and this rented apartment situation to the Lord. We declare victory in Jesus name and trust that He is working all things together for good for those who love Him. We thank You, Lord, for Your love and faithfulness that never fails, and for Your mighty power that no one can withstand. We trust You to bring reconciliation, peace, and Your perfect will in this situation and in this man's life. We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus, our only hope and our Savior. Amen.

We appreciated hearing your heart for your former landlord, wanting not just a resolution to the apartment situation but something far more lasting for him.

We join you in praying that he comes to know Jesus and finds his true identity in Him. So much of the time we try to build an identity around our own plans and desires, and it leaves us unsettled. An identity rooted in Christ is steadier, because it rests on who God says we are rather than what we accomplish or chase after. We pray he discovers that kind of foundation and begins to hear God's leading for his life in a personal way.

It is a loving thing you are doing to carry him in prayer this way. If it helps, you might keep praying for him by name whenever he comes to mind, especially when thoughts of that rental season come up, and simply entrust him to the Lord's care and timing. God sees both of you and is at work in ways we cannot always see.

Father, we lift this landlord to You in Jesus' name. Draw him to Yourself, open his eyes to Your truth and love, and help him hear Your voice and follow Your narrow path. Give him a clear sense of who he is in Christ. We also thank You for the one praying, and ask You to give peace and encouragement as he trusts You with this. Amen.

Your burden for your former landlord has been laid before the throne of grace and we join you heartily in prayer for his soul.

You have chosen well that word of our Lord, For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it. There is no other way of saving. The soul that would keep itself by its own will and its own desires shall lose all, but the soul that makes an unconditional surrender to Christ shall live. It is to fling wide the gates of the city of Mansoul and admit Prince Emanuel to rule as sole sovereign in every street. May the Lord bring this man to that blessed point where he has nothing to do but simply trust the Lord Jesus Christ, and then he shall be assuredly saved.

We are reminded that the house in which we dwell in this life has God for its Landlord and that we are only tenants. What is true of an earthly tenancy is far more true of the soul. Every man holds his life as from God, and soon the lease will run out. The call comes to every unregenerate man, Set your house in order. But unless Christ comes to help him, it is a hopeless task. We pray that the Holy Spirit will come and correct all that is contrary to the Lord's mind and will in this man, and make his house to be set in order by faith.

Our prayer is that this landlord may not rest in any two penny halfpenny salvation that lasts for a day and then departs, but that he may receive a salvation which is Divine from top to bottom, God's in the beginning, God's in the carrying on and God's in the concluding. Such salvation is not of ourselves. It was planned by God, provided in the gift of the person of Jesus Christ, and applied by God the Holy Spirit. We pray that he will hear God's voice, not as a vague impression, but in the sure testimony of Scripture, where Christ is set forth as God's salvation, and where the Spirit speaks to the heart. The best of coffers to lay up the things of Christ is the heart, and happy is he who stores them there.

We join you also in praying that his eyes may be opened to his true identity. By nature man adopts a false identity when he strays from God's narrow path and follows his own desires, but in Christ there is a vital union. Whatever Christ is, His people are in Him. They were chosen in Him, they are perfect in Christ Jesus, not by any goodness of their own, for in our flesh dwells no good thing, but by His active obedience which renders unto God a recompense for our breaches of His holy law and makes a robe in which the saints shall be arrayed. Oh that this man may know Christ not only as a doctrine in the brain to make him orthodox, but as Christ in him, the hope of glory, Christ accepted by faith, Christ possessed and experienced, curing his sin and filling his soul with love to holiness.

Let us pray together.

Lord Jesus, Thou reignest over the darkness and Thy light expelleth all darkness. We declare Thy victory and we ask Thy mercy and grace for this man who once stood as landlord over an earthly dwelling. Thou art the true Landlord of his life. Bring him to lose his life for Thy sake that he may save it. Grant him repentance and faith, that he may believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and be saved. Open his ears to hear Thy voice in Thy Word, open his eyes to see the falsehood of a life lived for self, and reveal to him his true identity as it can only be found in Christ. Draw him by Thy Spirit to unconditional surrender, that Christ may dwell in his heart by faith. We ask this not for our sake but for Thy glory, that all may see Thy greatness and power. We thank Thee for Thy love and faithfulness which endure forever. Amen.

Continue to pray for him and to show forth in your own life the joy of that certain and abiding salvation which is in Christ alone, for our life is not dependent on ourselves, but is safe in our Lord.
