Former landlord

Kensem

Beloved of All
Please pray in Jesus' name based on this verse.
Luke 9:24 states: "For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it." (ESV)
Please pray that the landlord will give his life to our Lord Jesus, so that he will not lose it.

Lord Jesus we believe that you reign over the darkness, and your light expels all darkness and all unclean spirits from those affected by it.
Lord Jesus, we declare victory over this rented apartment situation, and we ask for your healing power to guide the former landlord on his life's journey.
We believe everyone will see your Greatness and Power.
No one can withstand Your mighty power. We ask your mercy and grace.
We thank you for your love and faithfulness.
Amen

Please also pray that he can hear God's voice concerning His holy plan for his life

We join you in lifting up your former landlord before the throne of grace and we agree with you in prayer that he would surrender his life fully to our Lord Jesus Christ.

We are encouraged by your heart to pray for his salvation rather than holding bitterness over the rented apartment situation, for this reflects the love of Christ who calls us to pray for others and to desire that none should perish. We stand with you as you declare victory in Jesus' name and ask for God's mercy and healing power to guide this man.

The verse you shared is a powerful truth and we pray it over him, Luke 9:24 For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but whoever will lose his life for my sake, the same will save it. To lose our life for Jesus means to deny ourselves, repent of our sin, and trust Him completely as Lord and Savior, and in that surrender we truly find eternal life. We pray that your former landlord will come to understand that trying to save his life on his own terms, through his own efforts or possessions, will only lead to loss, but giving his life to Jesus will save it for eternity.

We also pray that he will have ears to hear God's voice and discern His holy plan for his life, for faith comes by hearing, Romans 10:17 So faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. We ask the Lord to soften his heart, to remove any darkness or deception, and to draw him by the Holy Spirit, for Jesus said John 14:6 I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. There is no other name by which we can be saved, Acts 4:12 There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. We pray he will call upon that name, for Romans 10:9 that if you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Let us pray together.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, and we thank You for Your love and faithfulness that endures forever. We thank You that Your light expels all darkness and that no one can withstand Your mighty power. Lord Jesus, we lift up this former landlord to You and we ask for Your mercy and grace upon him. We pray that You would convict his heart of sin and reveal to him his need for a Savior. Help him to hear Your voice clearly and to understand Your holy plan for his life. Draw him to Yourself, open his eyes to see Your greatness and power, and grant him repentance and faith so that he will lose his life for Your sake and thereby save it. Heal any brokenness in his life, guide his journey, and let Your will be done in him as it is in heaven. We also pray for peace and restoration regarding this rented apartment situation, that You would bring closure and victory according to Your perfect will and that our brother or sister who is praying would continue to walk in forgiveness and love. We trust You to work all things for good for those who love You. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to pray faithfully for him and to be a witness of Christ's love and truth if the Lord gives you opportunity, remembering 1 Timothy 2:3-4 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and come to full knowledge of the truth. We also encourage you to rest in the Lord's sovereignty over this situation, knowing that He reigns over all and is working even when we cannot see it.

We were moved by your heart for your former landlord, wanting his good even after the rental season has ended. That kind of care reflects Christ's love, and we are glad to stand with you in prayer for him.

You asked that he would hear God's voice about His plan for his life. In our experience that hearing often comes gradually as God draws a person, through quiet promptings, through Scripture, through the kindness of others, not always in one dramatic moment. Your steady prayers are part of that drawing, even when you don't see immediate change.

If it helps, one simple next step is to keep praying for him by name each day for a season, asking the Lord to soften his heart and open doors for him to encounter Jesus in a personal way. If you still have occasional contact, a brief, gracious word or note with no strings attached can also leave a gentle witness.

We are praying with you for the apartment situation to be fully settled in peace as well.

Father in Jesus' name we lift this landlord to You, ask for Your mercy to reach him, that he would come to know Jesus as Savior and hear Your voice clearly, and that You would guide his steps according to Your good will. Draw him to Yourself and give our friend peace as he entrusts him to You. Amen

🙇🏻Dear Lord Jesus in Heaven, thank You for warning us to beware of greed at all times, Lk 12:15. The goal of the Bible's instruction is love 💕from a purified heart, a sincere faith and a good conscience, 1 Tim 1:5. The love of money is a scary thing to observe, having witnessed the truth of 1 Tim 6:9-10. Please "keep deception and lies far from us, give us neither poverty nor riches, but feed us what is sufficient for us," Prov 30:8. If riches increase, let us not set our heart on them, Ps 62:10, but rather be humble, know they are uncertain, and use them to be rich in good deeds, 1 Tim 6:17-18. Help us have contentment with godliness, 1 Tim 6:6, since the entire earth is the Lord's, as well as those who dwell in it, Ps 24:1. Keep us from covetousness, Ex 20:17, and help us not love the world or anything in it lest the love of The Father be forfeited, 1 Jn 2:15. Help us see that is antithetical to our highest and chief goal to love You with everything we have and evangelize the lost and rub off Your love on our neighbors, Mark 12:30-31. Keep us from the desire for other things that choke out the Word of God, Mark 4:18-19. Keep us from temptation, Luke 11:4, sin, Zeph 3:13, 1 Cor 8:1, false believers, 2 Tim 3:5 and the evil one who blinds eyes, hearts minds and the world, Rev 12:9, Matt 6:13, John 17:15, 1 Jn 5:18. Thank You in Jesus' Name, Phil 4:6-7, Amen, Rev 3:14, 2 Cor 1:20.

We have joined our hearts with yours in bringing this former landlord before the throne of grace, and it is a right and needful prayer you have offered. To pray that a soul may give his life to the Lord Jesus that he may not lose it is to pray according to the very mind of God, who would have all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.

The word you have laid hold upon is solemn and searching. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for my sake will save it. There is truth in this salvation which operates most powerfully upon the mind. If a man has not felt the truth of his sinnership, there is to him no truth in Christ's salvation. But to the soul that confesses a real Fall, there is revealed a real Atonement, and to that soul there comes a real pardon through the blood of Jesus Christ, God's dear Son. Let us pray that this man may see that salvation must be God's in the beginning, God's in the carrying on and God's in the concluding, divine from top to bottom, and that it is found only where our eyes spiritually light upon Christ, for wherever we see Jesus, there we see God's salvation. The blessed doctrine of substitution, that simple command, Believe and live, is the glass through which the soul looks and sees God's salvation.

You speak of a landlord, and we are reminded that the house in which we dwell in this life has God for its Landlord, and that we are only tenants. We owe the continued possession of our existence every day to Him. Our breath is in our nostrils, but He keeps it there. There is a clause in the lease which some have never observed, namely, that the Landlord has at all times the right to enter and to call His tenant to account. Oh that this man may obey the inward monitor and listen to the still small voice and prepare to meet his God, and offer the key of his house to the Great Landlord and acknowledge that he lives on sufferance as His tenant.

You ask also that he may hear God's voice concerning His holy plan for his life. Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God. The mere letter of the Word alone will kill, but when we hear God's voice speaking in it, then it has power. We pray that he may put his ear down to the promises of Scripture till he hears God speaking through them to his soul, not with low and sinister motives, but as in God's presence with a simple and lowly heart, desiring to know His truth that he may sincerely live it. No man gets saved by an inattentive or careless hearing. It is God's usual way to save men by their constantly, attentively, earnestly hearing the Word of God, for God has appended the blessing of faith to hearing and the blessing of salvation to faith. May he hear and live, and hearing, may he be warned by the threatenings, cheered by the promises, and comforted by every good Word of the Lord.

Let us pray together.

O Lord Jesus, You reign over the darkness and Your light expels all darkness and all unclean spirits from those affected by it. We thank You for Your love and faithfulness and for Your mighty power which none can withstand. We bring this former landlord before Your mercy seat and implore Your grace upon him. Show him his need as a sinner, that he has transgressed Your holy law, and reveal to him the real atonement made by Your precious blood. Grant him repentance and faith, that he may lose his life for Your sake and so save it, trusting not in himself but in You alone, for there is salvation in no other. Open his ears that he may hear Your voice speaking in Your Word, and draw him by Your Spirit to hear with heed, to believe and not be ashamed. Guide him in Your holy plan for his life, that he may walk in Your ways and know the permanence of Your salvation which never fades. We ask this in Your name alone, the only name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved. Amen.
